Grundy Recovery Alliance Community Endeavor (GRACE)

A family of two living in Bedford county has recently lost a lot of their belongings. The youth is experiencing some mental health challenges and is receiving multiple services with different provider. Mom is requesting a new phone to stay in contact with the youths providers due to her phone being severely damaged. Also, for the upcoming school year the youth is asking for black or purple clothing. she wears a size 18-20 in pants, 2x in tops, and 10/11 in shoes.

A family is in need of a cockroach exterminator. This family has struggled for months trying to get rid of cockroaches and have even paid $150 out of their pocket with no results. They are on a fixed income and can't afford to keep paying hundreds of dollars to fix this issue. This family needs assistance with this to improve their living conditions and the safety of their children.

Children age 10 and 11 one boy and one girl being placed with their mother. They are living with another gracious family. The children will have to share a room (boys and a girls room). bunk beds and mattresses and bedding are needed to facilitate this move home. WE are looking to transition home before the new school year starts.

There are three children under 5 living in the home. There is one source of income coming into the home from the father's job. The mother is unable to work because the children need to go to the behavioral doctor regularly, one of the children is diagnosed with autism. The family live paycheck to paycheck and cannot afford to get items that will help the wellbeing of the children. The home has some environmental concerns and would benefit from safety latches, as well as cleaning supplies. The children are learning to be potty-trained but would benefit from a porta-potty. The home has one air conditioner, and it is hot outside. Anything that the family could receive would be helpful, whether is food or items that are material. The child with autism would benefit greatly from Baby Safety headphones. This request being fulfilled would help strengthen the safety and wellbeing of the children.

We have the opportunity to support a resilient mom and her two school-aged children who are taking a big step forward—moving into a place of their own! After working incredibly hard to build stability for her family, she now has a new beginning ahead of her. Let’s help turn their new space into a warm and welcoming home.

• Plates (set for 3+)
• Curtains (for 3 windows)
• Cooking supplies (pot, pan, or electric skillet)
• Bed covers and sheets (for two full-size and one queen-size bed)

🧺 Additional Needs:

• Towels and washcloths
• Bowls, cups, silverware, can opener, spatula
• Blender
• Shower curtain
• Dining room table and chairs *Desk

There is a need for clothing hangers (100+), a bookshelf (1+), and clothing racks (1+) for the children's clothing closet. These items can be used. The hangers can be different sizes and made of different materials. Clothing racks with just one bar is preferred and they can either be stationary or have wheels on them. The bookshelf needs to be big enough to hold 10 pairs of shoes and a few bins for socks and other undergarments. If you have recently cleaned out your closet and have unused hangers taking up space. We will gladly take them off your hands. If you have a bookshelf and/or clothing rack that you are no longer using, you can donate it to us.

A newborn is being placed with relatives who are having a difficult time gathering all needed items. They are asking for assistance specifically for a crib.

After years of working on her sobriety and maintaining a sober lifestyle, a mother and son have the opportunity to reunify! The youth has worked his treatment plan and the mother has continued to maintain a healthy and positive lifestyle to provide for her child. Home passes are beginning this Friday (6/27), but the mother will be making the drive to & from East TN to make this happen. After a couple successful home passes, we will return to court to ask for a trial home visit to begin. Any help with gas would be greatly appreciated by this family.

I have added two requested for cards to this submission. One gas card will be needed for this weekend, June 27th. A second card will be needed for the weekend of July 11th.

Children are transitioning home and need car seats for the Bio family to keep and use for the children to be transported safely.

The children are currently sleeping on a shared mattress without sheets, children are 2 and 1. The family has one income at this time and is struggling financially. We would like to assist this family in getting a pack and play and a toddler bed.

The mother just obtained independent housing and needs a crib for her son.

The only thing lacking for reunification with her child, is a crib for his bedroom.

We are getting ready for Walker’s Kid’s Day, which is our community’s big back to school event. I would like to send a Care Portal request for school supplies. Any school supplies will be appreciated! I have attached last year’s supply list for one of the elementary/middle schools. Some of our biggest requests last year were:

Kid’s Day is July 29th, so we would need these items by July 28th at the latest. Thank you!
