A youth has just returned with her mother in April. The biological mother, her family, and the youth moved into a bigger house and is needing some financial assistance with her electric bill. Any financial assistance to help with the adjustment would be greatly appreciated for this family.

Food Donation for Children at the Family Tree The OKDHS Family Tree offers a home-like setting for children awaiting placement. The Center is a safe, comfortable environment for children as the child welfare worker completes necessary paperwork and identifies a foster placement. Children often come in hungry. The Family Tree allows children to choose what they want to eat, giving them a choice when they do not have many choices. We have a list of possible suggestions but are open to any food donation that is easily prepared. The Family Tree has a refrigerator and can accept frozen or cold foods. Thank you for your help!

Hello all. We have a child who is experiencing his 2nd time in state custody at a young age. The child is currently on his 3rd placement within a year and the foster dad has recently been laid off at work. He is very good at what he does, but a bigger company bought out the shop that he works at and closed down the shop. The foster dad gave no time for excuses and immediately started submitting his resume, but now bills are starting to stack up. The foster family expressed that they were embarrassed to ask for assistance, but they didn't know what else to do. The foster family is specifically needing assistance with a gas bill, a light bill, and a water bill.

I am working a prevention case with a single mother and her three children. The mother is currently looking for employment. She is also participating in substance abuse services and doing everything the department has asked of her, to include maintaining her sobriety and providing clean drug screens. The children are in high need of clothing and new/used shoes. This family (and I) would be grateful for any help.

We have a very loving and caring resource family that has very recentky taken in 3 children and have not been approved to receive stipend yet. Resource parent stated children is in desperate need of socks and one of the children desperately needs shoes. If you could please reach out to me asap if youre able to help this wonderful family. A great grandmother is attempting to take emergency placement of her 3 grandchildren in Purcell, OK. The grandmother is currently battling a bedbug infestation, but she does not have the financial means to hire a professional to exterminate her home and her landlord has denied her request to exterminate. The great grandmother is the only kinship option for these children. This issue needs resolved before she can take placement of the children. If it is not resolved, the great grandmother could be denied placement of the 3 children. Keeping the children with the grandmother is the best option for the children and they will also be allowed to continue to be together and continue to attend school in Purcell and other normal daily activities.

Mother and three children are at risk for homelessness due to work absence/ unable to work second flexible job because of personal matters causing her to miss hours of work. Mother is the only adult working within the home supporting a household of 6. Mother works full time and consistently typically. Mother is also reaching out to tribal to see if they can assist. Mother and children will fall homeless within the next few days if unable to receive rental assistance from OHS, Tribe, or church resources. Family is needing one-time rental assistance. Any amount could help this family.

Mother is in dire need of assistance with a deposit for an apartment. The apartment complex is requiring a $700 deposit this week or she will lose her spot. If her spot is lost, it will be another 3 year waiting period before she is able to get assistance with housing again. This is the only thing that is left to reunify the family.

I have a single father of 4, he has a job and a vehicle but the air conditioning in his Dodge Durango needs repaired. OKDHS is recommending reunification for the client and his children. Currently, my client travels to and from to pick-up and bring the children back to the foster home on weekends for unsupervised visits. With the temperature warming up, the children will need A/C in the vehicle during the long car rides to and from. Any assistance with the a/c repair will be greatly appreciated.

Hello, we are needing a clothing need met for a 10 year old boy who was removed from his mother on Friday and placed into a safety plan with a kinship home. He arrived with no clothing and the family has been unable to access any of his clothing. He clothing size is a 10/12 or 14/16. He wears a size 6 or 7 youth shoe. He will need shirts, socks, underwear, pants and if possible a pair of pajamas as well. Three to four outfits would significantly help to meet his need and is greatly appreciated. Thank you so much,

Hello. We have a foster mother that needs some help with taking care of the enrollment costs for a summer daycare for a kiddo she will be taking care of. This is an emergency placement that she has agreed to for a very special little kiddo that has level 3 autism and a lot of needs. She has agreed to not only take placement, but to also assist with higher level educational and therapeutic needs that the child has. Due to the emergency situation of the placement, she has asked for assistance in getting the kiddo situated for daycare in the summer so that she can still work and knows that this kiddo is getting the care throughout the day that she needs. She is working to secure the place at camp before school is out to ensure that the kiddo gets in, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hello, a single foster mother needs help taking care of the fee for a daycare deposit. She has agreed to take one of our very special kiddos who has level 3 autism due to an emergency placement request. She has been trying to get everything ready to take care of this kiddo for us and is working to meet all the needs, along with having 2 of her own kiddos. She just needs some assistance in securing a daycare spot for our kiddo when school starts back up again. This little kiddo is very difficult to place due to her high level needs, and this foster mother has agreed to not only take care of her, but to also help us in making sure that all of her therapeutic and educational needs are met over and beyond what we could expect. She is just asking for a little help in trying to get things going on such short notice. Thank you.
