This family has been engaging with the Department as a kinship placement. As the case continues to progress, the family is looking at being a more permanent placements for the kids. With this recent decision from caregivers, the family is working on adjusting their new responsibilities and are hoping for some help with taking on two more children in their home. I am requesting grocery assistance for this family. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thank you so much!

This family recently became involved with the Department and kiddo was placed with kinship. Kinship providers have been wonderful with meeting with the Department, engaging with services, meetings, and everything requested by the Department. Kinship providers recently stated that they had some unfortunate news with one adult recently being diagnosed with cancer. As the family remains positive and determined to beat the cancer, they are asking for some additional help this month with groceries. With the doctor's appointments, work, and the Department's requirements the family is overextended. I am requesting three, $50 gift cards to help with their expenses. This family has been working with the Department for a little over a year now. Recent exciting changes have happened, including moving towards adoption! With this exciting news the family was getting all medical, dental, and vision appointments taken care of. It was discovered that the 6year old is needing extensive dental work including 7 fillings, 1 crown, and 4 extractions. child will need to be put under anesthesia for this procedure. Medicaid has covered most costs other than the final $150. The family has stretched their savings as much as they can but are hoping to have some assistance for the dentist appointment. Family of 10, currently living in transitioning housing with plan to move into secure housing in need of beds, furniture, and other basic household items. This family is establishing new residence and lost all their personal belongings prior to being unhoused for many months. Any assistance would be appreciated, to take on furnishing (new or gently used items) a common area and/ or bedrooms, linen/blankets, towels, kitchen items, etc.

A great aunt has been raising her grand niece since birth without financial contribution from either parent. Aunt still works, but she is a single income home. The baby just had her first birthday and is growing out of her car seat. Aunt is in need of a car seat that will grow with the baby and last a long time.

Grandparents on a fixed income were recently asked to take in their significantly disabled 17 year old grandson. The grandson arrived in their home with few clothes and no hygiene products. They are feeling stressed in trying to navigate the CPS system, the school system, and trying to get services in place that will support their grandson's disability. They have experienced immediate impact to their grocery budget and expect other bills such as utilities to rise as well. Requesting gift cards to purchase hygiene products and clothes for their grandson.

I am working with two children, one is a 14 y/o male and the other is a 3 y/o female. The 14 y/o is a survivor of a kidnapping and has been placed into foster care with his sister. He had been living with his abductor for over seven years and when this was found out, their home was raided by law enforcement. It is not known what items have and have not been recovered. His number one request was to get his bike back. Because it is unknown whether this will be possible, I am requesting support in getting a new bike so that he has one. He is taller, so it would likely be better to provide a Dick's Sporting Good's giftcard so he can go try it out and ensure it fits him well.

I'm working with a mom who has recently gotten out of a 6 month rehab program and is working to get back on her feet. She has three kids who are placed with family. Mom was accepted into a program to help with housing and she recently moved into an apartment. Prior to entering rehab, she lost most of her belongings and her house was sold. She is starting over and trying to slowly put her home together so it is suitable for her, and eventually the kids. Some of her major needs are bedding (sheets, fitted sheets, pillow cases), bath towels, and dishes (she mentioned drinking glasses would be helpful). Anything would be appreciated so she can focus on getting back into a routine, save money, and work towards reunification with her kids.

I am working with twins who are fifteen. They reunified with their biological mother after her rights were terminated thirteen years ago. The twins were adopted when their mother's rights were terminated and their adoptive parents cognitive ability/health has declined which led to their removal. Since reunifying with the biological mom, she has been working to financially support the twins plus herself and two other kids she has in the home. It has been a challenge for her, but she has been a stable support and placement for the kids. One of the twins, who is a male, has recently gotten into heavy metal music and expressed he'd like to take up guitar. He used to play and lost his guitar when he was removed and their parents were evicted. Bio mom cannot afford to purchase him a guitar, but is also hopeful to support him in his love for music and want to learn the instrument. He has showed me a few electric guitars he'd like if this request is met. Additionally, bio mom just had to spend a large sum of money to have her car repaired. She is requesting financial assistance to help with basic needs, clothing, and groceries. Her preference is a Walmart card as that is the closest option.

I am working with a single mom and her seven year old son. Her son has switched schools a few times over the last two years due to being in different placements and then returning home to his mom. He has a difficult history; he has experienced homelessness, loss, domestic violence, and substance use. He has a lot of trauma to work through and school has become difficult for him. He is being bullied and in turn starting to act out. The school has not handled this well and mom did not want to switch him schools yet again, so she has removed him from school and made the decision to homeschool. He is starting classes this week and the laptop the family has is older and does not stay charged. To help support his education and mom, I am requesting a laptop so he can complete his school work and be successful online.

I have a great great maternal aunt who moved to Colorado from out of state to take care of her great great nephew who has Autism and ADHD. Great Great Aunt is adoption this child but is struggling due to a recent job loss due to all of the child's needs and needing to leave work to pick him up from school due to behaviors. Aunt is requesting rent assistance and or activities assistance. Aunt is willing to work with anyone offering assistance.

This family consist of a single mother, and four children. The family is in need of support for groceries. This mother is utilizing food banks but does not qualify for SNAP benefits. Anything would help! The mother is asking for a visa gift card.
