📣 Summer Camp Assistance Needed for 13-Year-Old Boy Reuniting with Family:

St. Augustine Youth Services is supporting a family in North Jacksonville as their 13-year-old son transitions home after spending over a year in our Specialized Therapeutic Group Home.

🏡 He was successfully reunited with his mother on May 31, 2025. 🧭 As part of his discharge plan, a structured summer camp was recommended to help him:

• Adjust to being back home ❤️
• Maintain important social connections 🤝
• Continue developing key social skills 🌱
• Build positive routines and friendships in the community 🏀🎨 👩‍👦‍👦 His mother has found a wonderful local option—Wilson’s Rising Stars—a camp that understands his behavioral and mental health needs and is conveniently located near their home. 🎯 Cost of Camp (8 Weeks): $1,290 We are reaching out to generous partners and community members to help cover the cost. Two other agencies have already pledged support, and our agency is also contributing. 🙏 We are requesting 1/3 of the total cost: $430, which can be paid directly to the camp. Mother is trying to Make ends meet and taking care of her 3 children. Mother is dealing with some mental and health issues causing mother to being unable to get a job.

Son is need of a full size mattress and box spring. Family was donated a full size bed frame. The bed needs slats or a board under bed to hold mattress.

Mother is in the process of getting her daughter back. She is in need of a bed for her.

Mother is currently unemployed causing her unable to provide the bed for her daughter.

A single mother of three recently relocated to the Jacksonville area in search of safety and stability after leaving a difficult situation. With incredible courage, she is starting over to build a better life for herself and her children. As a former foster youth who aged out of the system, the client initially had no local family or support network to rely on during this major life transition. However, she has recently gained a support system within the community and is avidly working towards maintaining those connections as well as helping others.

The family is in need of the following items to help turn their new space into a functional, safe, and welcoming home for her children:

A single mother working to rebuild her life has recently secured a new apartment for herself and her child. She has just started a new job and is determined to provide a stable and safe environment for her family. However, due to limited financial resources, she is unable to afford the basic household items needed to make their new living space functional and comfortable.

Clothing needs: Mother - Women's size 2-4 in shirts, 34 length in pants, size 9 in shoes Baby clothing - Boy 6 months: wears 6-9 month clothing

A single mother of five is taking important steps toward rebuilding a stable and secure environment for her family. After facing displacement, she has recently secured permanent housing. While this marks a critical turning point, the family is starting over with no furniture or essential household items and is living on a limited, fixed income. Providing these items will not only help meet the family's immediate needs but also contribute significantly to creating a stable, nurturing home where the children can thrive.

Mother and children recently moved into maternal grandmother's home. Three children sleep on the couch together. Mother does not work but is actively looking for a job. They are in need of beds for the children and are having financial hardship.

Family of three, mom, dad and 15 month old baby are in need of food and a gas card to assist with transportation. Mom and Dad are both unemployed. Dad's health and language are a barrier. He has not worked full time in three months. As a result he is unable purchase food and gas for transportation. Family has no food until June 10th. The gas cards would help them to fuel their vehicle to go to dr's appointments and seek work.

This devoted daughter is doing everything she can to care for her elderly parents, who both suffer from dementia and mobility challenges. As their full-time caregiver, she’s with them day and night — responding to their needs during sleepless nights, trying to make sure they live with dignity, comfort, and love. Her parents are Armenian immigrants who speak only their native language. These generous and warm-hearted members of their community rely entirely on their daughter for every aspect of daily life. In their culture, caring for aging parents is not just tradition — it’s a deep expression of love. Lately, the emotional and financial weight has become too much to bear alone. With limited outside support, the client is struggling to afford the most basic, critical supplies needed each day to maintain her parents’ hygiene and comfort. The number of accidents is frequent and the costs add up quickly. This is where you can make a difference — your donation can help her provide her parents with the dignity and care they deserve. These supplies are more than just essentials — they’re a lifeline for a family trying to hold on through love and sacrifice.

I am writing to request assistance on behalf of a senior currently hospitalized in Jacksonville, Florida. She resides in Orlando, but due to her medical condition, she has been receiving treatment out of town. Her spouse has been traveling back and forth to be by her side, which has placed a significant financial burden on them.

They are on a limited income due to health issues. The added costs of gas and meals during these trips have become increasingly difficult to manage.

Any assistance in the form of gas or food gift cards would provide meaningful relief and support during this difficult time. Even small contributions can make a big difference and help alleviate some of the stress they are facing.

A young adult mother just entered Extended Foster Care on her 18th birthday this week. She has a young baby boy and is in need of a pack in play or crib (with mattress) as he is growing. She will need the sheets and mattress pad to go along with that. She is determined not to have her son go into foster care like she did as a baby. She wants to do what is safe and best for him. If you could please help her with this request. She is attending school to obtain her GED and wants to go to FSCJ for cosmetology.

Single mother recently moved to Florida from New York with her son abruptly. She is here with no friends or family to assist her in her time of need. She was running for her life from DV situation trying to get to safety with her son. They were unable to bring anything with them, so they are-in-need of assistance with clothing laundry detergent, household cleaning supplies and dish detergent. She is safe now and is ready to restart her and her son’s life in new place. She is staying with friends, looking for work, and possibly some training for a new career. Her income is very limited for now surviving on a Social Security Income for her and her son. We are very appreciative for any assistance for this family who has been traumatized trying to put the pieces of their lives back together.
