A loving and devoted grandmother is currently raising her sixteen-year-old granddaughter through kinship care, stepping up selflessly to provide the stability, love, and guidance her granddaughter needs during a difficult chapter in their lives. She has created a safe and nurturing home, showing incredible strength and resilience every step of the way.

Recently, this strong caregiver faced a life-changing diagnosis: breast cancer. She underwent a double mastectomy and is now in the early stages of recovery. As she heals, she is unable to work and is struggling to manage household needs on her own. One urgent issue she’s facing is a severely clogged kitchen sink, which has made daily life and meal preparation extremely difficult. Despite her best efforts, she cannot afford to have the plumbing repaired.

She is not asking for charity — only a helping hand to restore basic functionality in her home while she regains her strength. Your support, whether through financial aid, plumbing services, or referrals, would bring relief to a family doing everything they can to stay strong and stay together. By helping this grandmother, we are not only resolving a household crisis — we are preserving a home, protecting a child, and uplifting a woman whose love and courage are holding her family together.

62063197-A devoted grandmother and her supportive significant other have lovingly opened their home to care for her four young grandchildren, ranging in age from 1 to 5 years old. This selfless act has made them full-time caregivers, dedicating their lives to ensuring the children are safe, nurtured, and loved.

Although the grandmother works and does her best to support the household, taking in four small children has added a significant financial burden. The family currently does not receive any financial assistance from the government or other programs and is relying solely on their own income to provide for the children's growing needs.

The family is in urgent need of grocery gift cards, as well as diapers (Sizes 2, 3, and 4) and baby wipes to help care for the youngest members of the household. Adding four children to the home has created ongoing strain on their resources, but this loving couple continues to do everything in their power to provide a stable and caring environment.

They never complain, and they never give up—because for them, family comes first. Any support or assistance would bring tremendous relief and would be deeply appreciated.

61919552 - A loving grandmother has opened her heart and her home to her grandchildren, ensuring they grow up surrounded by love and care. At this time the family is in need of two dressers so that the children's clothing can be properly stored in their bedroom. Alternately this outstanding need continues to remind the children that they're new to this home and have not yet settled in. Please help us bring some security and much needed support to this family. New and or lightly used dressers would do.

The family has been opened numerous times over the years with FCCS (and 2 times specifically with me as their ongoing worker). Both parents have significant cognitive delays and struggle to understand how to manage their home and the medically diagnosed “super lice” that their family has had for over 9 years now. At one point, the family had a CSW, myself, and a parent mentor calling them daily to remind them to ALL do the lice treatments at the same time, clean the house, and clean all bedding/toys. We made some progress, but the lice are still present as parents struggle to follow the strict routine that is now needed to get rid of the lice. The parents were in a homeless shelter for about a year and a half and just got into housing. Their housing has plumbing issues that have caused mold, and the dad had to open up a wall to try to manage it. There is now just an open wall and no running water in that bathroom. The home had 9 people living in it, but one functional bathroom. Causing hygiene to be even more of a problem. The home has excessive trash and clutter. The parents shave the kids heads often but the home environment keeps the lice coming back. Parents report that the laundry is too much to do/keep up with in their tiny washer and dryer so they cannot wash everything at the same time when lice treatments are done. Due to the lice, the kids miss excessive amounts of school, which is why FCCS continues to become involved.

This caregiver is in urgent need of support with plumbing repairs due to a significant leak coming from her upstairs bathtub, which is now seeping through the ceiling into the kitchen. At 74 years old, she is not only facing the challenges of aging but is also recovering from a recent stroke, which has made it even more difficult for her to manage home maintenance issues on her own.

Despite previously having plumbing work done on the tub, the issue has returned. The leak has made the bathtub unusable, and as a result, the children in her care—her 16- and 11-year-old granddaughters and her 14-year-old grandson—have been unable to shower in the home.

Please note the price above is estimate guess for the repairs. She is doing her best to provide a safe and stable environment for her grandchildren, whom she is raising as a kinship caregiver, but this situation has placed an overwhelming burden on her. She has contacted multiple resources in search of help, including Franklin County Senior Options, LifeCare Alliance, Central Community House, Healthy Homes, and Modcon Living. Unfortunately, none of these organizations currently have available funding or services to address the urgent plumbing repair.

She is doing all she can for her grandchildren, but at this moment, she truly needs support. Any assistance would make a meaningful difference in restoring safety, dignity, and normalcy to this family's daily life.

This mom is a single parent that turned to alcohol and had a mental breakdown after her husband divorced her. Her 13 year old daughter is in Foster Care in a group home in Toledo, Ohio. It has taken three years for this mom to take classes, attend rehab, and focus on her daughter returning home. This was not easy, but this mom is recovering! Mom will start weekend visits to start reunification, and has no bed for her daughter to sleep. This typical 13 year old would like a bedroom of her own. She requested a twin bed. Any help that is given is greatly appreciated.

A single mom with two children has been struggling with her family and being able to work. She had a great job but had to leave because of needing to take care of a family member with some medical issues. Since then she has been trying to find a place for her children to go so she can try to get back to work. She found one place and was sending them but her assistance changed and she was trying to do a payment plan to pay it all back. They want it all in one lump sum before the children can go back. If she can get a little help with that back pay she can get her kids in the camps and get back to work to get their lives back on track. Any help is appreciated

62239047- Support Needed for Grandmother Caring for Four Grandchildren with Autism

A devoted and loving grandmother has stepped up as the full-time caregiver for her four grandchildren, whose ages range from 4 to 12 years old. Despite being retired and living on a fixed income, she took them in without hesitation, driven by her deep love and commitment to their well-being.

All four children are on the autism spectrum, and while the grandmother is doing everything she can to provide them with a nurturing and supportive home, she is in urgent need of assistance. Her biggest concern right now is their safety while playing outside. The backyard is currently unfenced, which poses a serious risk, as the children may wander off into the street—something she constantly worries about.

The family is asking for help with getting a secure gate or fence installed around the backyard. This would allow the children to play freely and safely while giving their grandmother peace of mind. A fenced area would be a tremendous blessing and would significantly improve the quality of life for these children and their caregiver.

Any assistance—whether through donated materials, installation help, or funding toward this safety need—would mean the world to this family. They are incredibly grateful for any and all support they receive.

The family of four is made up of Mom, and three kids, one of who has considerable special needs. Mom has been asked to leave the home with grandmother and is living in a hotel. She would benefit from any supports needed to set up home with her kids.

A family with a father and three children recently lost the mother/wife who died of a heart attack. The father is unable to work due to a disability and has three children to care for, ages 12, 9 and 4. The family has few supports and is completely reliant on the school for any help. the mother that passed away was a bus driver and the sole bread winner. The family needs help with connection to a community, day to day explanation of how the father can take care of the children and any advice on managing both financial and social emotional needs of the family. the school social worker is off for the summer and the family might need some long term supports.
