In addition to caring for them, she is also raising her two biological children in the home, working tirelessly to create a safe, stable, and nurturing environment for all four children.

Recently, the family has experienced property damage as a result of behavioral outbursts, and they are now in urgent need of three interior bedroom doors. The damaged doors have left the children without privacy and have added stress to the household. Replacing these doors would help restore a sense of structure, security, and dignity for the children and the caregiver.

The estimated cost for the three doors is $195 at home depot, which the aunt is currently unable to afford due to limited income and the ongoing demands of raising four children. She is doing everything within her power to meet their needs and support their emotional well-being.

62257985- A compassionate and responsible young woman has recently stepped up in a time of crisis to care for her 19-day-old baby cousin. This unexpected placement has made her the full-time caregiver for the newborn, who arrived with little to no essentials.

Despite just starting a new job, this loving cousin is doing her best to provide a safe and nurturing environment for the baby girl. However, she is in immediate need of support to help get them through until her first paycheck.

Currently, she is in need of:

Newborn-sized diapers

Baby wipes (any brand)

Baby formula (a gift card is preferred, as the specific formula type is still unknown)

Due to the biological mother still holding custody, she is unable to apply for WIC benefits at this time.

Any assistance—whether through donated items or gift cards—would be deeply appreciated and will go directly toward supporting this young caregiver and the precious baby in her care.

A truly loving grandmother has taken on the special responsibility of caring for her two-year-old granddaughter, along with her 17-year-old daughter and 19-year-old son, who has autism. She’s doing everything in her power to keep her family safe and together, even while facing financial struggles with part of her rent.

As her OhioKAN Navigator, I reached out to her landlord to understand the amount owed, and we received a rent ledger showing $4,700. OhioKAN was able to send a check on June 27th to help cover this, but the landlord has yet to provide the legal eviction filing fee of $378. Despite these efforts, the landlord is moving to evict her by July 4th, which has given her very little time to find a solution.

This grandmother’s heart and strength shine through in her commitment to her family. She recently took a second job to increase her income and is working with OhioKAN’s Benefits Specialist to explore other supports she may be eligible for.

While we have been able to assist with some rental help, this family still faces uncertainty. Any support or donations would mean the world to them as they navigate this challenging time. We are grateful for any help offered to keep this family safe, secure, and hopeful.

I am looking to help raise money for a local family who is in need of financial help to help pay for upcoming bills & expenses while their mom is going to be recovering from surgery. The mom had a scheduled appointment at the hospital for a routine hysterectomy, and is currently now back in the hospital fighting sepsis caused by a large mass found in her pelvic area. Her income has been dramatically affected and has a family to raise while the dad is home taking care of all 5 kids. Anything will help & go a long way!! They would appreciate any gift cards, gas cards, meal cards...anything that could supplement their income while the mom is unable to work due to her health. Both boys are currently students at New Albany Middle School and have been invited to participate in their 8th grade class trip to Washington, D.C. The total cost of the trip is $939 per student, which includes transportation, lodging, meals, and all planned activities. While she fully supports this enriching opportunity for both boys, the combined cost presents a financial challenge for the family, especially since she just recently returned to the workforce.

This disable caregiver has gone above and beyond to care for three children left in her care while their parents are still receiving treatment. She must transport all three kids each requiring a car seat to school, medical appointments, and parental visits. Insurance transportation is not an option because managing three car seats is too difficult for her, so she drives the children herself. The family is currently looking to connect with additional state benefits at this time. Gas cards would provide essential support to help the caregiver manage these trips safely and reliably. A devoted and selfless caregiver is reaching out for support with groceries as her family navigates an incredibly difficult season. She is a loving mother to her 16-year-old son and the aunt and caregiver to her two young nephews, ages 4 and 3, all of whom she is raising in a home filled with love and stability.

The caregiver, who uses a wheelchair and has faced several recent surgeries, required full-time support during her recovery. Her husband stepped away from work to care for her, which caused them to fall behind financially, including on their car note. With the help of OhioKAN, they were able to get caught up and prevent the repossession of their only vehicle—an essential lifeline for medical appointments and for her husband to begin searching for work again.

While that crisis has been addressed, the family is now struggling with food insecurity. They receive housing and utility assistance, but the rising cost of living and limited income make it nearly impossible to keep enough groceries in the home.

Support with food would be a tremendous help to this family as they continue working to get back on their feet. It would bring relief, restore dignity, and help nourish a household grounded in love, faith, and perseverance. Any help would be deeply appreciated.

A dedicated grandmother who is currently providing full-time care for four of her grandchildren is in need of a sweeper/vaccum that can be used on hardwood and carpeted surfaces. With so many young children to look after, their grandmother puts all of her resources into ensuring her grandchildren are loved and cared for. With all four children being very active and vivacious, their grandmother is often following their ideas and games with a broom and dustpan; Children creating memories often end in cleaning up messes. This can be very difficult to keep up when your cleaning appliances stop working altogether, like their grandmother’s did. A devoted and selfless cousin of five and aunt of two is opening her heart and home to adopt her beloved relatives, hoping to give them the safe, permanent family they deserve. She’s stepped up in love, but now faces a financial barrier that stands in the way of making it official.

With help from OhioKAN, she’s connected with an adoption attorney willing to work with her on a payment plan. Still, the required court fees—$893.01 for the initial filing and $206.00 for the family assessment—remain out of reach for her.
