A young girl and her family have recently relocated to Florida. During their time there, she connected with an adult male on Snapchat, who persuaded her to travel to Cincinnati, even covering the cost of her Greyhound ticket. When the child left home, her mother promptly filed a missing person report, and efforts to locate her have been ongoing. Fortunately, the child has been found in Cincinnati and is currently receiving care in a hospital while arrangements are made for her safe return home. The mother is diligently working full-time to provide for her daughters and maintain their home. An adult sister is ready and willing to fly to Cincinnati to bring her sister back, but the family is currently facing financial challenges that prevent them from affording the travel expenses.

DSS is looking to explore resources that can support this hardworking family. They have made incredible strides in transforming their home from a hoarding situation, showcasing their dedication and resilience. However, they are in need of essential items like clean beds and a gently sofa, as well as functional air conditioning units. With the heat rising, it’s crucial to address their comfort and well-being. Both adults are stepping into the workforce and are ready to collaborate with local churches to create a plan for support. Together, we can help them thrive in their new environment. Thank you for your support for this family.

A young person is in urgent need of a $200 Uber gift card to get to and from work, which is 20 minutes away. Right now, their entire paycheck is going toward paying for Ubers, leaving nothing left to save for a car. They're working hard, trying to stay consistent and build a better future, but the cost of transportation is making it incredibly difficult. This support would help lighten the load and give them a real chance to gain stability and keep moving forward.

Due to being homeless, they are in need of furnishing their place with essential items such as furniture and toiletries. I have listed out a few things that come to mind that could help support this family but are open to other items if available. Living room items: lamps and couches. Bedroom items: beds, dresser, and nightstands.

This youth is trying to get their Birth certificate so they can begin their job they have lined up in the trades. He is working really hard and has everything else lined up but is needing help from his community so he can start his job. He struggled with being in and out of his parents house but is now putting together is life on his own as he ages out. This youth works so hard at making sure he has a better life then what was in his past. Thank you for your support as always.

Reason for urgency: Remaining balance (amount requested) needs to be paid off by July 2nd so mother can move into her new home.

Single mother and her three children need assistance paying off old bills so they can move into permanent housing. Mother is currently staying at a long-term stay hotel where she has been harrassed and attacked at by other guests. She has been staying there after being kicked out of a shelter that was supposed to help her until she found more permanent housing and was allegedly robbed and manipulated by a service provider who took her money (which following a significant period of time was returned) and many of her items (which still have not been returned). However, Mother's section 8 voucher has been granted and she will be able to move into an apartment by the end of the month, but she needs to pay off her past due bills. This request is for assistance with her Spire Bill. Helping her with these bills will finally let the family have a safe home.

We are requesting a motel night for 2 more nights. The mother and small child are waiting on an opening at a shelter or for the alleged perp to be moved from the shared residence. We thought this would happen today, but it is not going to move as fast as we wanted. Shelters have been contacted and waiting on an opening or approval. The mother and child could use a gas card and some food either taken to them or by way of gift card to price chopper or hyvee.

Children's Division is currently working with a family that is need of bedding! single mother of 6 is currently working on relocating on her own thru the help of the state. During our visits it was brought to our attention the air mattress the children were sleeping on have broken. The children have been sleeping on the floor and CD is trying to help the mom get a couple more air mattress, Cots, or even a couple mattress of this family to have better sleeping arrangements. Ages of the children vary and anything to help is much appreciated. Extra pillows, blankets, sheets, all is acceded.

This family requires a medical lock box to ensure that medications are securely stored and inaccessible to the child. Thank you in advance.

Dad is having trouble finding a job as a felon. The mother left the baby and he is trying to remain connected with the baby. He needs and wants to visit everyday but not having money for gas is making it hard for him to visit. He wants to keep a strong bond with his daughter. He is needing gas cards to help him go see his daughter more.

This single mother recently moved to the Kansas City area looking for a better life for herself and her four children, ages 15-7 years old. One of the children is diagnosed with Spina Bifida, a condition where the spinal cord did not fully close in the womb, as a result this child has had multiple surgeries and may require more. The family is does not currently have beds and are sleeping on the floor of the home they are renting. The child with Spina Bifida had an inflatable mattress, but the mattress was punctured, so he is also sleeping on the floor. Being so new to the area, the family has not made many connections, so their support system is very limited. Any assistance for this family would be much appreciated and will go a long way into ensuring that the children are comfortable in their new home. Thank you for your consideration!
