A young girl and her family have recently relocated to Florida. During their time there, she connected with an adult male on Snapchat, who persuaded her to travel to Cincinnati, even covering the cost of her Greyhound ticket. When the child left home, her mother promptly filed a missing person report, and efforts to locate her have been ongoing. Fortunately, the child has been found in Cincinnati and is currently receiving care in a hospital while arrangements are made for her safe return home. The mother is diligently working full-time to provide for her daughters and maintain their home. An adult sister is ready and willing to fly to Cincinnati to bring her sister back, but the family is currently facing financial challenges that prevent them from affording the travel expenses.

DSS is looking to explore resources that can support this hardworking family. They have made incredible strides in transforming their home from a hoarding situation, showcasing their dedication and resilience. However, they are in need of essential items like clean beds and a gently sofa, as well as functional air conditioning units. With the heat rising, it’s crucial to address their comfort and well-being. Both adults are stepping into the workforce and are ready to collaborate with local churches to create a plan for support. This family needs help paying their $5000 rent bill. They will be evicted on July 10th if they do not contribute to the total. The mother I have been working with is just returning to her job after maternity leave. There are 4 kiddos who live in this apartment who would not have somewhere to live if they are evicted. Mother and her boyfriend are now working and will be able to handle the monthly rent once it is down to a manageable amount. Mother has reached out to other community organizations who do not have funding to help her family at this time. Thank you so much for considering this families needs.

This family is in need of help with their water bill. They received a disconnect notice if they are not able to pay by July 10th. Mom is attempting to get on a payment plan and needs half of the bill to be able to do so. Mom has 100 of that now but needs help with the other $209 to be able to get on the payment plan.

This youth is trying to get their Birth certificate so they can begin their job they have lined up in the trades. He is working really hard and has everything else lined up but is needing help from his community so he can start his job. He struggled with being in and out of his parents house but is now putting together is life on his own as he ages out. This youth works so hard at making sure he has a better life then what was in his past. Thank you for your support as always.

Children's Division is currently working with a family that is need of bedding! single mother of 6 is currently working on relocating on her own thru the help of the state. During our visits it was brought to our attention the air mattress the children were sleeping on have broken. The children have been sleeping on the floor and CD is trying to help the mom get a couple more air mattress, Cots, or even a couple mattress of this family to have better sleeping arrangements. Ages of the children vary and anything to help is much appreciated. Extra pillows, blankets, sheets, all is acceded.

This single mother recently moved to the Kansas City area looking for a better life for herself and her four children, ages 15-7 years old. One of the children is diagnosed with Spina Bifida, a condition where the spinal cord did not fully close in the womb, as a result this child has had multiple surgeries and may require more. The family is does not currently have beds and are sleeping on the floor of the home they are renting. The child with Spina Bifida had an inflatable mattress, but the mattress was punctured, so he is also sleeping on the floor. Being so new to the area, the family has not made many connections, so their support system is very limited. Any assistance for this family would be much appreciated and will go a long way into ensuring that the children are comfortable in their new home. Thank you for your consideration!

The family has no immediate supports for assistance with obtaining furniture for the new home. Family will be working with CD to help improve health and safety in the family and assist mom with finding employment opportunities as well as assisting with assessments and therapy for the family do to the loss of baby. Family is struggling with stability and mom's mental health. Assistance for furniture, especially beds with bedding will give the children a safer feeling. 1 child in the home is under 2, a toddler bed would work best.
