The mother currently resides with her two daughters and grandmother. The mother would like for her DCFS case to close. The mother is working on stabilizing her home for her children due to being evicted from her previous apartment on 03/01/25. The mother, children and grandmother were living in a motel until they were able to pay the fees for their new apartment. The mother is resourceful and willing to do “whatever it takes” to make sure her children have the basic needs. The mother moved in to her new apartment on 03/08/2025, and needs assistance due to her belongings being damaged by the rain. The new apartment was observed on 03/11/2025, and the family is in need of the following items: a stove, AC, heater, bed frames/mattresses for her two daughters, dressers for the girls to put their clothes in, dining table/chairs, couch, televisions, cooking pots, utensils, and dinnerware. Mother is also in need of new born items for baby boy by next month, these are the items needed: clothes (0-3Months), socks, bibs, blankets, car seat, crib, mattress, diapers, wipes, bottles, and etc. Mother is a single mother and is currently unemployed. Help Reunify a Bio Family
The caregiver worked but recently was laid off work. He reunified with his children in January 2015, and has been caring for his children appropriately. He completed all court orders. The father is the only caregiver at this time. Upon the time that the children were detained, the father became homeless and lost his belongings. After he completed his court orders, he was able to secure a stove, refrigerator, and other household goods. At this time, he is in need of a bunk bed for his children. CSW observed that the father has been providing for his children in a timely bases by meeting their concrete needs and emotional needs. The caregiver holds many strengths in that he prioritizes his children well-being and is in connection with the children's’ school. Please help me secure a bunk bed for the children.

Alleviate Food/Essentials Insecurity
I am requesting assistance for a family of 4 who were indirectly affected by the Palisades Fire. The client did not lose her home nor was it damaged. The client was affected by the fire because she works in Pacific Palisades. The client had a small housekeeping business where the majority of the homes she worked in were completely destroyed by the fire. The client is having a difficult time with paying her rent as she has lost the majority of her revenue. The client has applied for unemployment and is awaiting a response from them. She has also applied for the Worker Relief Fund as well as the Small Business Grant but her application is still pending. Her husband is currently unemployed due to an injury and does not qualify for any type of financial assistance. They did apply for Calfresh (Food stamps) and have been approved. The client has a job interview this week and is also working with an agency to help her find work. This family could really benefit from any type of financial assistance they can receive.

Help Strengthen a Bio Family
Minor came to the attention of the Department due to mental health issues, substance abuse and domestic violence by parents. Minor and his sibling was detained from parents and placed with grandparents. In 2024, minors were returned to home of parents. Unfortunately, in January 2025, kids were removed from Father again due to his substance use, domestic violence and mental health issues. Kids remained with Mother. Mother continues to cooperate with the department and ensure kids’ safety and stability. For many years, father was the main financial provider for the family; however, Father is currently unemployed and Family does not have any savings. Mother found a temporary job however, she still barely meets the ends. Minor has mental health issues that he is addressing in therapy. Minor is at the age to start Driver’s Education classes that will help him to be more confident, independent and help family to run errands when appropriate.
