The Mount Bible Church

A hard working family of seven, consisting of a mother (43 yrs old), father (56 yrs old), and five minor children (ages 17, 15, 13, 11, and 6), currently resides in a two-bedroom apartment. The father, who is the sole provider, works two jobs, while the mother stays home to care for the children due to her undocumented status, which prevents her from securing stable employment. Occasionally, the mother takes on housekeeping jobs to supplement the family’s income. The family is experiencing significant financial hardship due to the inconsistent nature of the father’s work as a gardener. As a result, they are only able to meet some of their basic necessities. The eldest child is actively seeking employment to help with household expenses. Currently, the family receives rental and utilities assistance from The Help Group’s Prevention and Aftercare Program and is enrolled in CalFresh to supplement their food budget. They are also participating in psychotherapy to enhance their emotional well-being and stability. The 15-year-old child has outgrown her child-sized bed, and the family could really benefit from a twin-size bed and mattress. The child's birthday is also coming up in August and she has expressed a wish to have a larger bed.

Single employed mother has been doing very well in relocating her children and herself into a safe and loving home. Family now is requesting assistance with purchasing a few items to make their house into a home. Items needed at this time is four high chairs (bar-stool) and sofas. Providing these items for the family would be blessing on it's own. Being able to sit at the kitchen table or Livingroom to have family team is a wonderful way to straighten a family bond.

This family includes four children ranging in age from newborn, 1 year old, 8 years old and 9 years old. While the baby has a crib to sleep in, the parents and other 3 children sleep on an old queen size mattress on the floor. They have a bunk bed frame for the two older children, but no mattresses. The family is experiencing financial hardship and cannot afford to purchase the mattresses themselves.

We are requesting 2 new twin size mattresses, as well as bedding for the beds (sheets, pillows and blankets), and face/body towels.

Adequate sleeping arrangements and proper sleep are essential for a healthy lifestyle. Filling this request will help improve the children's safety and well being and reduce stress and anxiety on the whole family.

"The non-minor dependent (NMD) came to the attention of DCFS and the Court when she was in the 4th grade. She was removed from both parents due to their severe mental health challenges and homelessness. A church member later became her legal guardian and cared for her until she graduated from high school and enrolled in college.

Unfortunately, due to her own mental health struggles, she was unable to complete her first semester and withdrew from college. She temporarily returned to her former legal guardian’s home, where she has stayed for the past 10 months. However, the guardian’s family is now facing their own challenges and has asked her to move out by 6/30/25.

The former guardian helped her find a small, rented room near their workplace and continues to support her transition to independent living. Although the NMD is still struggling with mental health and independence, she is motivated and willing to work toward full self-sufficiency over the next year.

She is in need of a twin-size bed and other basic household items to settle into her new space. "

Urgent Request for Support – Non-Minor Dependent SB We are seeking immediate assistance for a young single mother whose case will close with DCFS on July 6, 2025, when she turns 21. A young mother of two children (ages 1 and 5) she is a resilient and devoted parent who has consistently prioritized her children’s needs, but she is currently facing a serious crisis. After a recent separation from the father of her youngest child, who is no longer providing meaningful financial support, she is now struggling to meet basic expenses. Despite these challenges, she recently completed her CNA certification and is actively applying for positions, though she has not yet secured employment. She can cover rent through the end of July but is at imminent risk of homelessness thereafter. She is at risk of having to vacate her apartment at the end of July and has no family support; her mother passed away five years ago, and she has no contact with her father. She will soon be navigating this situation entirely on her own.

Reportedly, mother and father are currently experiencing financial hardships, and are in need of three twin sized beds or one bunkbed and one twin for the children, ages 13,10 and 8. Neither father nor mother are currently working, and the family cannot allocate funds towards a suitable bed for the children at the moment. The family is also in need of dressers for the children as their current dressers are falling apart.

Dear Careportal, I am writing to respectfully request assistance in securing three beds and a crib for a single mother who is currently involved in an open DCFS case. This mother is a survivor of domestic violence and has recently taken a major step toward rebuilding her life by moving into her own apartment. Her children are in the process of being returned to her care, and while she is deeply committed to creating a safe and stable home, she currently does not have the financial means to provide beds for her children. Obtaining these beds would not only relieve significant stress for the mother but also offer her children a sense of stability, security, and comfort during this critical time of transition. Your support would allow this family to begin healing together in a safe and supportive environment. It would also enable the mother to focus on her continued progress, including maintaining her home and meeting the needs of her children. This youth is a client of Regional Center living independently for the first time in his life. This youth has faced tremendous challenges, including the death of his mother a few years ago, and his father's paralysis. He has been in the system for many years, but he has finally managed to earn his high school diploma and obtain housing. He is currently searching for employment and working on removing barriers in his life to do so.

This youth needs support with basic household necessities, including toiletries, bath mats, and curtains.
