Help Reunify a Bio Family
Hello, this request is being made on behalf of a single mother who was a victim of domestic violence shortly after giving birth to her youngest child. The youngest child also suffered abuse at the hands of the mother’s male partner. As a result, the children were taken from the mother because she did not have stable housing.
Since the children's detention, the mother has maintained regular visits with all of them and has been diligent in enrolling in all court-ordered programs. She is fully compliant with the court requirements. The mother is currently renting a room and has been working and saving money to provide for her children's return or to obtain approval for overnight visits.
To prepare for their return, she has purchased a bunk bed, which consists of a full bed on the bottom and a twin bed on top. Additionally, she has bought a crib for her youngest child. The mother is seeking assistance and support to sustain her momentum and progress toward reunification. This support will greatly help her secure approval for overnight visits, ensuring that her children have a place to sleep and fostering the eventual release of the children back to her care.

Regional Center parent is doing her best in obtaining items for her children as they are getting closer to reunification. Parent has worked so hard and doing amazing but has been having some difficulty when traveling with the children on public transportation. Providing parent with a double stroller and a toddler travel bag would make traveling with the children easier and safer. Having control over the children's safety and being able to travel with the children's items such as snacks, drinks, toys/books, extra clothes, diapers and wipes is a big blessing.

Stabilize Housing Insecurity
The client is a 33 yr old single male that is currently residing with the family of an acquaintance. The client has made mention that previously to the fires, he was a full time student, but the impact of the fires has halted that for him at the moment. He does not have a vehicle and has rather low income. Has been applying for housing programs, but so far has not had any success. Although he has applied for FEMA, it was declined, but he submitted an appeal and up until now has yet to hear anything back from them. He has mentioned that, because he doesn't really know the people he is currently living with, there is some tension between them, and he understands that because he is basically a stranger staying in their home, and the lack of luck in finding somewhere else or permanent housing, is causes a bit of a frustration. The client has mentioned that he lost just about everything since his home had been burned down to the ground. At the moment he is still looking for assistance of course with housing, but also clothing, transportation, food assistance, and has concerns with medical assistance, replacing furniture, and getting some assistance as a student. The request is to help the client with relieving that mental stress of housing, replacing the items he lost, and hopefully continuing going to school and helping him get back on his feet.

The family is currently renting elsewhere temporarily for a about year while they wait for their home to be rebuilt. The client mentioned that some of the things they lost were clothing, basic household items, the children's school supplies as well as their sporting equipment, gear that they would use for camping and personal tools. With this request, hopefully they will be able to replace some of their personal items and fulfill in receiving the basic needs that they need more immediately and help them get started to get back on their feet. Help Preserve a Kinship Placement
We are currently asking assistance in obtaining a prom suit and shoes for a foster youth. This youth is residing with his sister, who was in the army & was a formal foster youth herself. The youth is currently a senior in high school and is doing very well in school. Initially, he had not planned to attend his prom as he did not have money for his prom ticket. But a couple of days ago, he changed his mind, once the School Social Worker provided him with a free prom ticket. The youth missed the big CASA event for a free prom suit. The Children Social Worker and the ILP Coordinator reached out to the CASA worker & other DCFS staff, in the office, in search of a prom suit with no luck. We are asking if a church would be able to assist this youth with a prom suit and shoes. This youth is a well manner, and respectful youth that enjoys playing his guitar. This youth is doing really well in school and is on track to graduate. He plans to go to college. He recently got accepted and plans to attend California State University Northridge. Now that he was given a free prom ticket, he really wants to go to his prom and is in need of a prom suit and shoes. Thank you.
