Family of 6 is in need of beds for 2 children. The family recently relocated to St Joseph and had to replace most of their furniture due to a bed bug infestation in the previous home. The family was able to replace a couple beds, but 2 of the children are currently sleeping on used mattresses with no bed frames.

Mom and dad are currently sleeping on couches while they are trying to replace furniture in the home, but their first priority is getting the children a proper place to sleep.

Please help this family rebuild and provide the children comfort to strengthen their well-being. Any help is appreciated!

A dedicated mother of two young children has been accepted into the Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) program at North Central College, taking the next step in fulfilling her dream of becoming a nurse. She is currently working part-time at Mosaic as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) while also caring for her 9-month-old and 5-year-old children. As she prepares to begin full-time classes this semester, Mom is hopeful for assistance in purchasing her own school supplies. With household bills and the cost of ensuring her daughter is fully prepared for kindergarten this fall, she is falling short on funds for her own educational needs. She is currently in need of the following items: ● Pencils ● Scientific calculator ● Sticky notes ● White-out ● Folders ● Backpack Mom would be incredibly grateful for any donations to help support her as she begins her college journey. Bio mom has a new place. She is struggling to find employment and found ineligible for food stamps. She is participating in Family Guidance Services for her Mental Health, substance abuse, and seeking assistance with an Employment Specialist. Mom is struggling being alone and not having anything to do all day without her infant. She needs food assistance to keep nourished and energized to attend meetings and visits, and also a monthly bus pass. Her child has been in care for 5 months. Any additional assistance will be appreciated.

Family lost a small dog due to a traffic incident. The older adult size dog was left in the home, observed the incident while everyone was gone, and he destroyed the family couch. They are hoping to obtain any kind of replacement couch, so the family has a place to sit in the living room. The kids usually do their homework in the living room, as teens. The case is about to go to TPR/Adoption. There are 7 siblings divided between two homes, luckily across the street from one another.

This request is to help a family in need with a Temporary Alternative Placement Agreement. The parents are working on various items to improve themselves and to make themselves and their home a safe place for the child to return home to. The extended family that is placement for the child currently are sturggling financially to make ends meet. Currently they are in need of gas cards to help keep gas in the car to get the child to daycare. Without this aid they will have to miss more shifts at work and without work they will not be able to keep the child with them.

By helping with this request you are directly helping keep a child out of court custody and out of the foster system.

Family with 5 children are needing to start over due to their home and all contents being part of a fire. They are needing just about everything to start their lives over. They are hoping to get into a new place by this weekend, if not within 24 hours. Someone is helping them with beds and clothing, but they are needing the community's help for the following supplies. As for the washer & dryer, if someone has a used, in good working condition, family would be appreciative of your donation, especially with having 5 children!!

This request will help to keep two boys in the care of their Uncle / kinship placement. The boys need more permanent bed frames / mattresses for their rooms. Their Uncle does his best to make his home feel like their home and would love to provide a better bed option for both boys. Uncle is also struggling with transportation because of a tire that needs to be replaced. He is struggling to finish the process of getting licensed due to the busted tire. This request for beds and tire repair would greatly help support this Uncle and this placement.

As a Children's Division worker, I have a new kinship placement with two minor children and in need of safety items to include a fire extinguisher, medical lock box, and a carbon monoxide detector for the home. These are required safety items for our Resource and Home Inspection for licensing of this placement home. The placement parents have guardianship of four additional children in the home under the age of 18 that would also benefit to secure extra safety of this home.

medical complex child that depends on his sister who is his caregiver to transport him places and also care for him. The sister has stepped up to care for her brother and is in need of a car seat for him so that she can bring him home from the hospital and transport him to and from appointments as well. He doesn't qualify for a medical car seat right now but needs a certain type to protect his head from bouncing around and also his body from leaning.

The car seat that he is in need of is a Chicco my fit, it has a 4 position recline, 9 position headrest.

A person is in the process of adopting a young boy who has gone through a lot and now has many medical needs. The person adopting him stays at home with him to provide the love, care, and attention he needs and deserves. The family is hoping to increase the security of the home due to some threats made and would like to install some security cameras. If there is someone who is able to donate a camera or two or a whole camera system, that would be so helpful in increasing the family's peace of mind.
