Help Preserve a Kinship Placement
I have a single provider who has graciously opened her home to a kinship placement. This provider has 1 child of her own and has been struggling to make ends meet with the addition of another child in her home. For Anoka County to be able to license this home and preserve this kinship placement I have asked the provider to clean up the inside of the trailer home. She has expressed how she has so many plans for organizing and getting things tidy, but she does not have the funds to buy organizational items needed to make these dreams happen. At this time, I am requesting help with organization items that this family could benefit from to be able to eat together as a family so that everything isn't piled on top of the kitchen counters and kitchen table. She will use the Hutch to put her coffee pot, toaster etc on. Bins for cleaning supplies, food organization. A single mom with a 10 month old boy is requesting a rear facing 5 pt carseat that is lightweight as she does not drive so is transferring it from vehicle to vehicle. This child has been reunified with his mother and this will assist her in ensuring that he is safely being transport. She is also requesting size 5 diapers and wipes as she is struggling financally and often very low on baby supplies.

Help Improve a Child's Wellbeing
This family consists of a mother and her two children. One of her children has a medical disability that impacts their gross motor and cognitive development. The mother has recently been struggling with family conflict, grief and loss of a sibling, and trying to maintain parenting with few additional supports. The mother has engaged in self-medicating coping mechanisms, but is working hard to address this and requesting assistance. The mother expressed to me that she is sharing a twin bed with one of her children, which is physically impacting them both. The bed is falling apart causing unsafe sleep, and the mattress is sloped so they are falling into each other during bedtime. This is impacting her and her child's ability to sleep, as well as her child's behavior in school which has impacted their learning. The request: 2 twin size beds with a mattress for each bed. This need being met would ensure that the mother and child are able to have their own beds, get sufficient sleep, and create independence and a safe space. The need being met would also help the mother financially, as she does not have the stability nor financial assistance to get two separate bed/mattress combinations for herself and her child. Her second child already has a bed of their own due to the disability, and this is impacting the child who does not have their own bed. The request not being met will continue to put a strain on the family system, resulting in another burden for the family to face.

Help Prevent a Child From Entering Foster Care
The children are currently placed in the home with their father. Their father is in need of help with paying back pay on electricity. He just lost his job and is currently attempting to find a new job and is applying for assistance to help him in the mean time. The father is doing what he needs to do to provide for his 2 and 4 year old despite the constant barriers that are in place.
