Need help in purchasing new football cleats and helmet visor for a 14 y/o boy who recently reunified with his mom. Throughout his time in care he changed between multiple placements and different schools. Despite the many transfers, the teenager maintained excellent grades and attendance and has been able to play football at each school. He is growing rapidly and needs new cleats and a required visor for his new team. Football is extremely important to him and he works hard to ensure he can play in addition to his educational goals. He has high hopes and aspirations to attend college and interest in computers/coding. He utilizes football as a healthy coping skill and gains many skills from his coaches and team such as teamwork, discipline, and physical exercise. Either the specific items or a gift card to a sporting goods store would help obtain the items and allow him to pick out the right fit/style himself as he is learning financial skills as a teenager such as how much items cost, how to shop around, and check out/pay for yourself. Helping meet this need would free up funds in the home for other necessary items.

Two single moms, each with 2 children, are in need of extra support. Although they are both employed, they struggle financially to make ends meet. They are in need of basic furniture items for their home, including a couch, a kitchen table with 6 chairs, a vacuum cleaner, and clothing storage items. A plastic dresser or storage cart for each child would be ideal. The children include a girl (age 10) and three boys (ages, 7, 4, & 4). Thank you for any help you may be able to provide. Having a table and chairs in time for Thanksgiving would be a blessing.

Our food pantry on site is in desperate need of a refrigerator. Our current refrigerator has no shelving and leaks water which is not only limiting the amount of food we can offer but is making our pantry an unsafe space. We serve over 100 families a week from our pantry and use it to run our after-school program so without the ability to have fresh produce or any refrigerated items, we will not be able to provide adequate food for our families who are in great need.
Special Instructions:
The item can be dropped off between 10-3pm Monday-Thursdays.

Single dad and his daughter. Dad recently became employed and will be working 2 jobs over the winter including a snow plow business. He will be able to continue his rent going forward but he's really behind and could be looking at an eviction very soon. Any amount of help would be appreciated and helpful for these two.

Asking for a toddler/convertible car seat and a highchair
Young adult was in a car accident and has been unable to work. She will need a new car seat for her child because the seat was in the car at the time of the accident. She also needs a highchair because she was recently referred to an eating specialist for her son and told it would be best for him to have a highchair to eat.
This family of single dad and child have had a difficult financial situation recently and currently have their water turned off. Dad didn't want to ask for help but said, "I really wish we could have the water on so we could have a 10th birthday party for her [my daughter] this week". He's reached out to multiple non-profits for helps but has not had any luck.
Paying their water bill would help this child have a birthday party next week as well as get the family's normal needs for hygiene and for cooking.

KCMO Angels just received a referral for a biological mother who has worked so hard to achieve reunification and currently just got her kids back for a trial home visit. She was referred to our Love Box program for being able to use some emotional support as she adjusts to parenting two children with special needs again. She does have some limited family support, however that support has been somewhat exhausted due to the length of the foster care case. She has worked very hard to maintain sobriety and obtain stable housing for this trial home visit with her children to be possible.
When completing her intake today to get her matched with a Love Box leader here at KCMO Angels, we just fell in love with her dedication to make reunification work as she is adamant to not lose her children again. We are striving to get her match before her case closes and her children are released from care while she is eligible. When talking with her today and inquiring for any holiday wants, needs so we could bless her in that way while she is on our waiting list, her only request was a Christmas tree with colored lights for her two young children. We are calling on our amazing Careportal community to help make this happen!

ANY AMOUNT OF ASSISTANCE WOULD HELP THIS FAMILY! The family's leasing agency has filed in court for eviction and the family will be evicted if the fees are not paid. Parent is a single mother of a 12 year old son. Last year, the son was struggling in school with behavioral and mental health challenges that led to mom pulling him out of school to homeschool him to give him extra care and attention. Mom decided to resign from her main job to be home with her son and go full time with her loan signing business which was doing well at the time, but quickly fell into a lull. Mom is continuing this loan signing business and currently looking for part-time work, but is currently behind on nearly all of her bills. The family's primary concern is rent. Mom has been searching for rental assistance but has not had luck. She is looking for support to help get her back on track while looking for another source of income. The family will be able to support themselves moving forward, but have fallen so far behind on bills that they aren't able to catch up.

A family of six, five children, all Hispanic, are in dire need of winter clothing- Gloves and coats. The eldest daughter has no coats that fit her anymore and the younger kids are wearing her old coats, but they don't fit and are torn. Gloves are our top concern because none of the kids nor mom have gloves. None of the kids are in school and we are working on getting them enrolled in a new school because they recently moved. Mom really needs help to manage the needs of all her children and she is struggling to get ready for the winter. She shares a bed with her three daughters and her two sons share a bed, all 6 of them share the same bedroom because the boys attic room is being remodeled and is unsafe for them currently. I have already put in a request for additional bedding supplies and am working to get the boys separated from the girls but am still needing help getting them some clothing. The children all told me individually that they get cold at home and are scared of how cold it is going to get this Winter because they do not have proper winter clothing or gloves. Anything to help these kids get prepared for this winter so they can go back to school in proper clothing would be amazing. These kids all want to be in school and want to be involved in group activities but have no clothing to do so. Giving them clothes would not only boost their confidence but allow them to go outside safely and join groups that will enrich their lives and expand their safety networks.

We are specifically looking for a pair of tennis shoes for a girl, pre-school aged, size 10.5. She does not have a pair of shoes that are appropriate for school. We would love to have a few spare pairs of tennis shoes for other pre-school aged children, as school appropriate shoes are always needed at our Early Childhood Center/ Head Start. Besides the specific girls 10.5, any gender and pre-k sizes from 9-13 would be helpful. Thank you!

Two children have recently been placed with a relative. The family is in need of two car seats for the children. One child is 7 months old and the other child is 2 years old. The 7 month old is currently in an infant seat, but will need a rear facing car seat in the near future. A car seat that is convertible for the infant would most likely be most beneficial. The two year old is still rear facing at this time. These car seats will ensure that the children are able to travel safely.
