Good afternoon Care portal team, I am seeking your help to aid with a family of five. The family is struggling with hunger insecurities and we are seeking your support. To help them fill their cabinets and fridge with groceries. This will tremendously help a single mother who although she works hard, she has not been able to keep up with all the cost of her apartment and bills. This help, would truly be a blessing for them, gift cards or groceries will be awesome. I am happy to come and pick up from you, please know the family is open to contact with parishioners as well. Cass County Prevention is currently working with a mother and her paramour in regard to their rent and other utilities. The rent is overdue at the present time and the family has only been able to pay $500 so far this month. The paramour's next check is only estimated to be around $300, and the mother is attempting to locate employment; however, her application for childcare was denied so this makes it harder. Furthermore, the mother indicated their water was turned off today, April 24th due to the bill being past due. The remaining amount of rent is $700 for this month and in order to get the water turned back on it will cost $234.96. If the rent is not paid by next week, the landlord is talking about not allowing them to stay any longer in the home and terminating their lease. The mother is worried for her children, as she does not want them to be without working utilities in the home, nor to have to uproot them from their current schools.

I am working with a mom and her daughter who have been homeless for a while and are so close to having stability. They are needing $782 for a down payment for an apartment. She has part of it and is working but has come up short with recent hotel bills. Anything would help, they are so close to stability!

This family has requested assistance with before and after school care for the remainder of the school year. This child thrives on consistent routine and is worried if they are not able to continue with this routine for the remainder of the school year it will cause disruption to the child's behavior progress.

Hello, I have a relative placement that needs our help with a dresser, a twin bed frame and an outdoor water activity table. The only requirement for the dresser is to please keep in mind this dresser will be in a bedroom with 4 children under the age of 8. :-) This relative placement is simply amazing and needs our help.

This is a request for a 1-year-old female who entered KS foster care and was placed with a relative in Kansas City, MO. We are requesting a crib for the child. This child is not walking yet but she will be 2 this summer and her case manager said it would be best if we were able to acquire a crib that transitions to a toddler bed as we will likely need to request a toddler bed in the near future when she is able to walk. If that is not available, a crib will be great as she is currently using a pack n play temporarily while we locate a crib for her. Please reach out with any questions. Thank you!

This family is so close to reunification and are just waiting on housing. They have already made payments towards the housing payment and have also had some help from grandmother but are still needing the rest in order to move in.

A teenager was battling a significant heart condition and sadly passed away last week. The family is devastated and is relying on God and the community’s prayers in order to continue to put one foot in front of the other. The young man had plans to become a pilot and loved his family deeply. He was raised by a single mom and his siblings are absolutely devastated. His Mom has not put money aside for his funeral as this was an unexpected death. If a church is willing or able to assist with funeral expenses, the family would greatly appreciate the financial contribution. Thank you for your consideration.

We are reaching out to request your assistance for a family we are supporting. A mother and her daughters are facing difficult circumstances, including the loss of two parents and the removal of one child from the home. Due to these significant life events, the mother has been unable to work and is now behind on several payments.

DCCCA has done what we can to help and has explored community resources, but unfortunately, we have not found any viable solutions. The mother is seeking assistance to cover half of her rent. Additionally, DCCCA has already helped by paying the electricity bill, which was disconnected this morning.

This youth has been in foster care for several months primarily on one-nights without a long term placement offering stability and security. This youth is a teenager who needs stability and support. We will be transitioning this youth to reintegrate with his mother who has relocated since the case began. Reunification is the best plan for this youth and their family to be sure their needs are met. Reunification will require this youth to have a bedroom and bed of his own to sleep in which mom is currently unable to provide. We are in need of the bed as this is the final item needed to support this family in reunification efforts. We are confident that once he returns home, his behaviors will continue to improve and this family will be able to continue to thrive with the support of therapy and community resources.

15 year old female just got out of a residential facility and is currently in a foster home. She is wanting to reconnect with her family and friends. There are concerns with her having access to a regular cellphone due to sex trafficking; however, we do not want to punish her for things that occurred to her. A BARK phone would help this child be able to reintegrate herself into her community while having appropriate restrictions and boundaries. Phones are a lifeline for teenagers right now and we feel it is important that she be able to have access to this device while also keeping her safe. We are requesting the BARK phone as well as a payment for an additional month so that this child will have time to save and earn money in the meantime to start paying for the phone.

Please consider assisting two young brothers who were recently placed in kinship placement with their grandmother. The children had a very limited supply of clothing when placed with grandma. Grandma is also needing baby equipment to ensure the children's safety in the home and on the go. If you are able to assist with any of these item, it would be much appreciated! Thank you so much!
