A mother and her four children have been in supportive housing after exiting a domestic violence shelter last year. Mom is extremely motivated to find a job and not rely long term on public assistance, and ensures her kids are well taken care of, attend school, and have enjoyable experiences. Mom had to choose between bills this month and chose to pay registration and property tax fees for her car. As a result, she is unable to pay her phone bill this month. Mom and her kids use their phone bill benefits to call relatives out of state as they have no family nearby. Mom is confident in her ability to stay up to date with bills in future months as her government benefits cover monthly bills, but the fees associated with her car were higher than what she planned for. We truly appreciate your assistance in meeting this request, to ensure this family can stay in touch with their loved ones.

There’s single mother with a 16 your old son in jeopardy of being evicted. She is recently divorced and has had to file for bankruptcy. Over the past few months maintaining the household had become more difficult. She received an eviction notice and is facing that notice being enforced next week, if she cannot pay $2257.

Single mother of 2 is working very hard to find stable housing and work while also uninsured. One of the two children has been bullied at school for the clothes that she wears. The bullying has been relentless, to the point of daughter wanting to self-harm. The daughter is in safe hands. Clothes for the daughter are hard to find, as in age appropriate and in her style in sizes 2X. A gift card to any clothing places that has her size would help take a burden off of mom's shoulder and empower her daughter to feel more confident in choosing her clothes. This family is just coming from homelessness but just got moved into their new home! I'm so excited for them as its a big step this family. The baby is placed with a kinship provider; the mother is working two jobs and providing for her baby, although the baby is not in her home currently. A dedicated single mother of three children is doing her best to balance work and her health in the midst of job searching. We have a 20-year-old who is aging out of care in a month. She is moving into her apartment with her 1-year-old daughter. She is working and has been trying to save money. She is $500 short for the deposit on her apartment; she has managed to save half. The $500 would ensure our older youth does not age out unhoused. She is utilizing a housing voucher to ensure she will be able to pay her rent; her voucher does not pay for any part of the deposit. Our youth is excited to have her own place for her and her daughter to finally have stability in her life. Thank you!

Their 21 year-old son was recently killed in an accident and their 19-year-old daughter who is pregnant is being induced due to the stress of losing her brother. Her younger son is currently permanently disabled. Mother has been unable to work as she has been making arrangements for her son's burial and her the birth of her daughter's child. Mother was unable to cover the entire month's rent because she paid for the burial of her son. There are three other younger children in the home. The mother has worked very hard in maintaining employment and even purchased a vehicle to help her transport her children to daycare and maintain her girls' relationship to their biological father. The mother has asked for assistance in a first-month's deposit to move out in June as her lease is ending the end of May. She is needing the community's help in this matter to ensure safer and better lives for her two little girls. Any amount would significantly help this family, as they are also very close to being released of jurisdiction and reunifying.
