This family is currently facing financial hardship due to being a single-income household, as mom has been facing some health issues. They're dealing with food insecurity and struggling to pay utility bills, as well as recently having to pay for bed bug treatment for the home. They already receive food stamps and utilize community resources (e.g., Just Food) when they can.
I think they'll take any amount of relief they can get, and in any form, whether it's gas cards so they can get to work, gift cards for the grocery store, cash reimbursement for bed bug treatment, etc. In addition, the family is facing financial hardship to provide Christmas gifts.
A NRKIN foster home received a new placement, an infant girl on 11/17. The foster home has the infant's three other sisters, all ages 3 and younger. The home greatly needs a crib and mattress for the infant. The home could also use a two-child stroller as the infant's older sister just turned one. Additionally, the older sister could use a car seat as that car seat will now be used for the new infant. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
A NRKIN foster home who has placement of four sisters, ages 3 and younger are in need of a new van as their current van has numerous mechanical issues. The family needs help purchasing a new van or financial assistance making repairs on current van. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
a girl who comes from very meek means. She comes from a family who is rifled with drugs, alcohol, physical, mental, and sexual abuse. She is placed with a well meaning relative who has 4 children of her own and can't afford to put J through driver's education. J tried studying and taking the exam on her own but was unsuccessful 2 times. I offered to get her into driver's education so that she has time to take the test in parts, and not all at one time. She was so happy that this was an option for her as it never was before. Please help with this donation so that J is able to start driving like other 18 year old kids her age.

Parents with 6 children (ages 3 months old to 14 years old) are being evicted from their home on 11/15. The family does not have any close friends or other family they can stay with. There are currently no housing programs that have available homes ASAP for this size of family. We are requesting funds to temporarily put them in a hotel, while we take action for a long-term housing plan with assistance from housing focused agencies. We are worried if we cannot keep them in a hotel for some time, they would have to move to go to a shelter in a different town. Dad is currently working and doing well with his job that he just started so we are hoping to keep them in Lawrence until we can figure out next steps, so dad can continue to work - as they also have no transportation. Also requesting boxes and moving supplies to start packing the items they will be taking with.

A sibling set of 5 children came into care today. 3 of the children are able to be placed with an NRKIN, but the home is needing one more twin bed/frame. We would love for as many of these children to be placed together as possible. These children are able to go to this NRKIN home on Monday.
I have a family that will be reunifying within the next few months after being out-of-home for almost a year. All children will be reunifying with their father, who has been their sole caregiver for several years. Dad had been struggling financially and had extreme difficulties finding a house to accommodate himself and his kids for the past few months. He finally secured housing, but is struggling with furnishings and specifically beds for the children. We'd like to request any help in finding or creating a fund for the family to secure beds or bunk beds for all 3 kids.
We have a congregation member who has two twin bed frames and two twin mattresses for donation. Please email/text me and I will connect the two of you. Thanks! ~ Michaela ******@email.com ###-####)
This request is for a mother of two boys, ages 10 and 1. Her 10-year-old was placed in out of home care on 9/20/22 while the 1-year-old went with his father. From day one, mom has done everything that has been asked of her in order for her son to return home with her. Her boys are her world and she has shown that she will do whatever it takes to do what is right for them and for herself. Because of her hard work, her 10-year-old will be reintegrating back home with mom on 11/11, less than two months that he had to be in out of home care. Mom recently started a new job only a few weeks before the boys were removed from her home. Going to court, meeting with KVC intake, meeting with the case manager, initial case plan, evaluations, and then getting sick, she has had to miss several days of work which has affected her financially. The request is to help her pay for her November rent. The last thing she should be stressed out about right now is whether she will be able to pay rent or worry if she will have enough money for food once she pays rent.
