A family is in need of assistance to help them get caught up so that the children do not enter care. The kids are staying with a grandparent and the family has recently lost a family member. The kids have come to stay with them unexpectedly. and they are tryig to navigate their new financial situation. In the meantime they are needing some assistance. There are multiple utilities that are overdue. Some of the other things that have been requested are gas cards, food vouchers, clothing for the kiddos, as well as twin size blankets. The kid's sizes are girls 5 to 6 and boys 7 to 8.
The Clay County Children's Division is requesting 20 drug vouchers be purchased from Northland Dependency. These vouchers are $20 each and can be pre-paid by contacting Northland Dependency in Liberty and asking for Bridget or Kayla. These vouchers are used when drug use is a concern on open cases and can help assess parental capacities and help ensure safety of children. Once purchased, someone from Children's Division can pick up the vouchers.

This child has been the foster care system for many years. In his young life he has learned some unhealthy habits. He is now currently developing and growing while his needs are being met. We are asking for the balance of a 10-week summer camp program to be paid. The total cost of the program is $1,700.00. KC Parks and Recreation has offered a 50% scholarship to attend camp. CASA is able to cover the cost of one week of summer camp. Leaving a balance $850.00. This would be a great program for child to continue to grow and learn skills.

A smart & vibrant 10- year old has been placed in the care of her aunt for the past two years. During that time her aunt has taken her in to her home and provided her with a safe, loving and stable home. Her aunt moved into a better neighborhood and school district to provide her niece a better lifestyle. Shortly after moving the aunt lost her job and is now struggling to make ends meet. She has gone through all of the steps to take guardianship of this youth & is awaiting guardianship any day now. The youth is in need of some things that the aunt is unable to provide at this time. She is in need of some summer clothing, girls size 10 tops & shorts, women's shoes size 6.5. or 7 tennis shoes. If you are able to help out with this need it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

The parents have three children, a boy, age eight and two girls, age five and six. The eight-year-old is Autistic and the parents have been in the home since August of 2020. Dad said he lost his job at Walmart due to being diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy and they became behind in rent. He took on temp jobs and his wife is currently starting a job as well to help with the income. Dad said for a few weeks the temp agency had very few jobs and they weren’t able to pay the past due and current rent, along with bills. They are wanting help so they can keep their home and keep the eight-year-old in the same school due to his Autism. Please and thanks for any consideration!!

This family is only needing help for their utility bill that has gone out of there budget. It doesn't seem like it is a reoccurring issue with the family. They are capable of keeping up with the following payments, but one month had gotten away from them and has now piled up and it is beyond what they can afford alone. They are reaching out and asking for help. The household consists of 3, both parents and a child. The bill is 274$ to avoid shut off, but the entire bill is $444.

Single mother of a two-year-old who receives no support from child's dad. She recently had to put her mother on hospice and her dad had emergency surgery. She was working at MWSU until she missed too much work taking care of her dad. She has checked several resources, but none were able to help because she is not working. It is hard for her to ask for help, but she is facing eviction. She owes 1,714.00. She is going to check about getting on housing but that won't help with her eviction.

A single mother of 4 kids. Mom has experienced homelessness and in February 2023 got a home for her and her kids. She does not work and is needing help paying her rent for the month. Mom is great and working hard to get back on her feet. $230 is needed as soon as possible. Updated on May 30, 2023 by an Agency Worker The mother of this family has followed up with me several times regarding this need. If there are any churches who could do part of the $230 that is needed, that would work as well.

Children who we have in foster care are given presents when it is their birthdays by our staff. Sometimes this means that staff are spending their own money on these gifts. Thanks to the generosity of our community, we have been able to have a birthday closet, but our birthday closet is in need of restocking for gifts for various ages. Thank you!

3 children who were recently removed from the home are in need of beds in order to remain at a relative placement. They have bedding, they just need a bed/mattress per state policy.

Hello! KVC is asking for a donation of two sets of bunk beds and 4 mattresses to go on the frames. We recently had a set of grandparents take in 6 of their grandchildren and are in need of proper sleeping arrangements. Due to the size of the rooms the children are sharing, bunk beds would be the most efficient option for this family. We would really love to keep all 6 of these siblings together, but they need to have proper sleeping arrangements to do so. We appreciate your consideration in advance. God bless!

A single mom is in need of beds for her and her three children after obtaining her own housing. She has been financially struggling after losing several jobs when her eldest repeatedly ran away and mother would take off from work to look for her. Things are looking brighter now, and she is in need of beds for their home as they've all been sleeping on the floor. They would need two twin mattresses and two full-sized mattresses preferably, but are willing to have anything. If it's within your means, they will also need frames. Mother and the children's favorite colors are black and red.

Part of the reason for the referral in this case was lack of housing stability. When the police came into this home (of ten children) there were only two toddler sized mattresses for all ten children. The parents have since acquired some appropriate bed arrangements but still need two bunk beds (four beds, 2 bunks) and a toddler bed frame. Any additional bedding or housing things for children 3mo-18 would be extremely helpful to reunify this family.

The child in need is a young kiddo getting into Gymnastics. She has been loving it and everytime we go for visits she shows us her new "tumbling" skills. Placement reports that she's never seen the kiddo smile brighter than landing a tough move being taught at Gymnastics. It always makes me feel safer with my clients knowing they have activities to keep them busy that are productive, safe and fun lead by trusted individuals and organizations.
