Family ( mother, father, and their 7 years old and 3 year old child), need assistance paying for their hotel where they have been staying at since becoming homeless. the family does try and work but father recently lost his job. Family will have no income until the first of November and they need to pay for another week or they will be on the street. Family and their workers have explored hotel vouchers, homeless shelters, and any family assistance but so far they have not come up with any. amount below will cover a week, by which time, they will have income on the 1st of December. hotel is the Super 8 by Wyndham Lees Summit.
This family is in need of items for their home. The mother has been able to not work due to maternity leave and needs items from her home; she has been trying to maintain the bills and the home with the little income that she has until she is able to work. She has made huge progress over the past six years despite going through tough times and has really shown significant progress with the program during my time with her. I have noticed there are things that the home needs when being there for visits with the family, along with looking over the rooms. The mother has recently moved into this apartment and really started with nothing. The home has maintained staying clean, and I would like to get Mom a few items so she does not have the financial burden of trying to come up with money while parenting three young children (including a newborn). I hope you can help me. This would greatly be appreciated by the family!
See the identified needed items, which would include a high chair, beds for the kids, dressers, clothes, etc.
The sizes for the family include :
Girl #1- size 4/5 or S
Girl #2 - 3T
Boy- 0-3months, 3-6 months
Diapers are size 6
The family is also in need of curtain rods and curtains for the home, if possible, since there are a lot of windows within the apartment- 84-inch curtains and adjustable curtain rods.
Thank you so much for considering to help!

Single mother who just recently moved and started a new job is in need of some used living room furniture to furnish her home. There is one child in the home with no additional supports. Thank you in advance for strengthening this family.
A mother that has recently reunified with her daughters just had her lights turned off and needs assistance with getting her electricity turned back on. Thankfully her heat is powered by natural gas, but she and the kids need to be able to use power to cook and do homework. Mom is struggling to figure out how to turn on her lights and pay rent for December, when her next pay check doesn't come until 12/10. Any assistance for this family would be greatly appreciated. With it being winter and the holidays, most assistance options have been pretty well exhausted.
Older youth, age 19, rents her own apartment. Youth's rent is $1500.00. She recently became ill and was hospitalized for a brief period of time causing her to miss several days from work. The youth's rent is due on December 1st. She needs financial assistance for her rent payment. The youth reports to have 50% of the rent payment saved.

Journey Church International can help with this need, as long as we can get a copy of the apt. complex's W9 form. We will need that before the rent check can be processed. Thanks!

A 17-year-old girl, eldest of her family, expressed feeling frustrated because her car needs repair. At 17, there are a lot of things she is buying for her senior year that she needs money for (college applications, basketball shoes, fees on her school account, senior pictures, etc) but without a car she is hardly able to work as she has no way to get there. She lives in a single parent household with four siblings and helps mom with running errands and taking kids to and from school. This young woman is a A+ student and is very involved in her community.
She said it would be a little over $250 to fix her car but any assistance would help tremendously.

Single mom pregnant with her first child is needing help with paying past due rent in the amount of $1211.00. This client was working but lost her job due to having to take off from work for doctor appointments because of pregnancy complications. She was also hurt on the job due to an accident that happened that was not her fault and is currently in litigation for that. She has already been to several organizations in the Kansas City area for help, but each one is either out of funding at this time, not accepting applications at this time or are overwhelmed with applications and are not taking any more at this time. The client has been looking for another job and is hopeful she will start work soon. In the meantime, the client has just been approved for unemployment and receives a monthly check of $796.00 for blind disability (She's legally blind in one eye) that she can use to pay future rent until she starts work. Because of the amount of the request, I have broken it into 2 payments of 605.00 in hopes that some churches would like to partner together to meet this need. This will help the client from being served an eviction notice keeping her from homelessness as she prepares for the arrival of her baby in a few months.

A 17 year old youth has applied and been accepted to the college of her choice. To hold her spot at that college for next year, she needs to pay a $200 fee. This youth has been in care since 2018 and is doing amazingly well and has her sight set on nursing school. She is already involved in a pre nursing program at her current high school.

disabled Mother of 4 children with high behavioral needs is in IMMEDIATE need of rental assistance. Mother works from home and is heavily involved in the community but through a mix of needing to take time off for her kids' appointments and her car needing repair (which made her give up her side job of doing deliveries until it could be repaired), she got behind on her rent payments. Furthermore, her apartment routinely stacks late fees onto her balance, so she is further stretched. She has paid off $1300 of the amount but was informed today that she has 72 hours (11/10/2023) to pay off the remaining balance or she will be evicted.
If this amount can be paid off, not only will this secure housing for a family of five, it will allow her children to stay and receive mental health care). If balance can be paid off, mom will also not have to worry about late fees. and can begin saving her money for future emergencies, as opposed to constantly playing catch up.

A working single mother of two, who's a client of our agency, desperately needs to purchase a reliable used car. She had a car, but it needs repairs that she can't afford and that cost more than the car is worth. She can put down as much as $1,500 but needs her monthly payment to be between $200 and $300. Her credit is not good because her ex-husband racked up some debts, then disappeared and literally left her holding the bag.
Looking for resources who can help her find a reliable car ASAP. She needs to purchase it within a week.
Single mother of three needs help with her phone and internet. Mother is escaping her neighborhood and abuser and needs to maintain her phone and internet so she can work her at home job so she can keep her children with her. Children all have severe behavioral issues. The new environment would allow them to get more regular treatment. Mother has gotten behind on her bills due to children's severe behavior.
Ms. Draudt is currently set to move to Lee's Summit this week (11/06/2023). She is able to maintain her provider at her new address but needs to pay back her past due bills.

We have a kinship placement that needs emergency help as they are going to be evicted from their home. They have court this morning and are trying to get a continuance. The four children ages 8-2 are with their grandmother and papa. They have had a circumstances that have affected them as her mother in law passed away. Before her mother in law passed away the SAHFR program was supposed to help with the water and one month rent. That program ended up running out of funds. CD is also trying to find away to get them help with the water bill to turn their water back on but they need assistance with this rent to avoid being without a home. We do not want anything to jeopardize this placement and are trying to keep the kids together. The rent is 650 that is due. CD is looking for other resources to try and help with the water bill. If they could get help with the rent it will keep them from being without a home and the children being separated as they have to have a home.

A mother of 6 just recently got released from the hospital after a bad wreck. She is behind of bills and is unable to work right now because of the accident as well as she is on maternity leave. Her landlord is helping her out, having the bills in his name, for now but is unsure how long they will be able to help. She is unable to get the utilities in her name as the light and gas bill have high balances.
