👟🌞 Helping a Supermom of 7! Summer Support Needed

We’re hoping to rally some support around an incredible single foster mom who is currently caring for seven amazing kids—yes, seven! She’s doing an incredible job juggling everything on her own, but could really use a little extra help this summer.

Right now, she’s in need of:

🍼 A stroller that can hold a car seat—something that makes outings a little easier and more manageable with the littlest ones in tow. 👗 Summer clothes for her 16-year-old daughter, who wears a junior size 2-3 pants and size medium shirts. Light, breathable clothing for the season would be a huge blessing!

This mama is showing up with so much love and dedication every single day, and meeting these practical needs would go a long way in lightening her load and reminding her she’s not alone.

A 15-year-old female and her 1.5-year-old daughter have been placed with a recently single-parent household and is needing the generosity of the community to help assist with an Evergy utility bill. Their home is disconnected and their current voucher being put towards utilities does not cover the entirety of the bill due to the recent single parent being overwhelmed of taking over this on their own. Proof of bill has been sent to the case manager. This family would be incredibly grateful for any amount to help them off, what is deemed by them, this mountain of a utility bill.

A family of five is requesting assistance with vehicle repairs for a 2014 Ford Escape S. The mother was involved in an automobile accident shortly after purchasing the vehicle, and before it was registered. Due to the nature of the damage, the vehicle will not currently pass inspection and therefore remains unregistered. This has resulted in several traffic tickets as the family has been unable to pay to have the vehicle repaired, and it is the family’s only means of transportation. The family has received an estimate of $1,500 for the vehicle to be repaired in a mechanic shop. The father has indicated that he and his uncle are willing and able to repair the vehicle themselves if they are able to obtain the parts. This family has been working very hard to overcome obstacles and has recently begun a Trial Home Visit. The ability for them to repair their vehicle and have it properly registered will go a long way in reducing stress. Without reliable transportation, the family has difficulty taking their three young children to doctor’s appointments and school/daycare events. This family is humbly requesting support in the form of monetary or labor assistance from a mechanic. Photos of the damage can be provided if needed.

I have a mom in need of assistance with her electric bill. She has supervised visits with her children in her home and is about to lose electricity. We would like to continue having the visits in her home where the children are comfortable. In order for this to continue, she needs some assistance. The mom is unemployed at this time due to health concerns and no transportation. Any help is appreciated.

A teenage male is residing in a department of mental health home; he has been in this home for seven years. His bed is currently on the floor, and he is out of shelf space in his closet. client is 27 weeks pregnant. She got a job and saved up enough to pay for moving into a new apartment. She was previously unhoused and sleeping on a friend's couch. She needs furniture and items to use in her new apartment when she moves in. She needs a queen size bed frame and mattress, queen sized sheets and pillow, sofa, floor lamp, dresser, kitchen dishes and silverware, cooking pans, bathroom rug, towels, etc. She has a microwave and a shower curtain.

A mother has been living in her car since her child came into care. She is no longer able to live in her home due to some legal reasons. Mom is trying to secure a job and stabilize her life so that her daughter can be a part of it again. She needs a hotel room for a few days to get things in order. Thank you!

A single mother of 2 children is working on escaping a domestic violence marriage and is in need of transportation assistance so she is able to go file for an ex-parte protection order. She is in need of an uber/lyft gift card.

A mother is in need with first months rent for an apartment to help her establish housing.

I have a family that was put in a difficult situation and the grandmother agreed to care for the children until mom did everything she needed to do. The grandmother is currently fighting cancer, keeping the children together and recently had to find a new home for everyone due to a unfair situation completely out of her control. Fortunately they have just moved into their new home and need a little help due to a limited financial situation. Currently the 3 children all need twin size bedding for each of their beds and each child is in need of a dresser to store their clothing. This assistance would relive the grandmother of the stress of having to find a way to afford these items. As well as making the children happy, showing them that there are people who care and are willing to help. Thank you

Two pre-teen siblings are seeking funding to participate in recreational activities during their sibling visitation time. These children are currently wards of the state following the termination of parental rights and do not have parental involvement. Support is requested to help provide them with opportunities for connection and enjoyment through community-based activities such as AMC movie passes, bowling, laser tag, escape rooms, go-kart racing, worlds of fun, and similar outings. Support can be provided in the form of a gift card or actual ticket passes. This worker is willing to accept the gift cards/passes on behave of the children.
