I am working with a family that lost a lot of their household items due to a bed bug infestation. There are 4 children and two adults living in a two-bedroom apartment. Currently, the children's clothing is on the floor in their closet, and it is difficult for them to locate items that they need. The children's mother has some mental health concerns that she is working to address. Therefore, updating their space and improving the conditions that her children are living in will help boost the overall morale of the home. Thank you so much for any and all help that you can provide. The family is enthusiastically open to second-hand and pre-loved items. Small laundry baskets, bookshelves, and any small storage items would also be helpful.
One of the older children has asthma and has a difficult time keeping up with their siblings. Their mother thinks that a double stroller would help with this a lot.
Thank you so much for supporting the community.

Greg:
Restore Community Church has a new twin roll out trundle bed with metal slats and lockable casters for this family. It is not a toddler bed, but the platform frame is only a few inches high, and might be suitable for this family. Restore also can provide a new mattress and bedding. If desired, Northland Church KC can deliver this week.
A family who Clay County Children's Division is helping is in need of a Spire payment to be met. Family has been dealing with job issues and being cut hours and lay offs. They have been unable to make their Spire bill- they have attempted to make half payments so they could get their hot water turned back on and they have been declined. They have to make all $545 to be able to get their hot water turned back on. Being able to turn the hot water on again will help the family in many ways. Children and family are having to brush teeth with very cold water, showering with very cold water, etc.
J.H. is placed in the home of a relative on the Kansas/Missouri Border Agreement ICPC. The family has been doing their best to provide everything J.H. needs, although due to J.H.'s level of care needed, she has been forced to take time off work. J.H. is in need of a new bed frame and bedding essentials. She could additionally use a dresser.

Need help in purchasing new football cleats and helmet visor for a 14 y/o boy who recently reunified with his mom. Throughout his time in care he changed between multiple placements and different schools. Despite the many transfers, the teenager maintained excellent grades and attendance and has been able to play football at each school. He is growing rapidly and needs new cleats and a required visor for his new team. Football is extremely important to him and he works hard to ensure he can play in addition to his educational goals. He has high hopes and aspirations to attend college and interest in computers/coding. He utilizes football as a healthy coping skill and gains many skills from his coaches and team such as teamwork, discipline, and physical exercise. Either the specific items or a gift card to a sporting goods store would help obtain the items and allow him to pick out the right fit/style himself as he is learning financial skills as a teenager such as how much items cost, how to shop around, and check out/pay for yourself. Helping meet this need would free up funds in the home for other necessary items.

Two single moms, each with 2 children, are in need of extra support. Although they are both employed, they struggle financially to make ends meet. They are in need of basic furniture items for their home, including a couch, a kitchen table with 6 chairs, a vacuum cleaner, and clothing storage items. A plastic dresser or storage cart for each child would be ideal. The children include a girl (age 10) and three boys (ages, 7, 4, & 4). Thank you for any help you may be able to provide. Having a table and chairs in time for Thanksgiving would be a blessing.

A local family at our church escaped a domestic violence situation and needs help with rent to secure a new place to live for the mother and her daughters. The mother just picked up a second job at Research Medical Hospital. She is doing everything possible to have a safe environment for her daughters in this new chapter, free of domestic violence. She needs help with rent to get moved into her new place.
This working, single mother is in need of a crib and crib mattress for her youngest child. Despite working full time, the budget never seems to stretch as far as one would hope with multiple children. Her youngest child has quickly outgrown the pack n play she has been using and is about to surpass the weight limit. Since safety is always the number one priority for her children, this mother knows she a crib, but cannot afford one. A crib and crib mattress will help to ensure this child has a safe sleep plan and help a single working mom.

A local family at our church recently took in the placement of two children (2) & (6). They had nothing for a two year old but were able to have friends, family, and neighbors that helped with them almost everything to take care of these children. The only thing the family still needs is a car seat. That would allow for safe transportation for their kiddo. If you can donate directly you can email Pastor Dylan at dylan.harreld@life.church.
