Our schools' nursing offices are low in needed supplies! We have sent out family requests from time to time and that helps meet some, but not all of the need. Elementary children will sometimes have bathroom accidents and need a fresh pair of pants that are not available. There are also feminine hygiene needs in higher grades where new clothing is required. Having appropriate clothing on hand allows the children to stay in school and not have to go home or wait for a parent to take time off work to run home and get clothes-sometimes causing lost wages. It avoids embarrassment and shame by having needed item quickly on hand to offer student. We know the request is high and don't expect request to be fully met- any partial help is appreciated!

Please assist a relative foster placement with obtaining some needed items for her home. Placement indicates she is in need of a foldable kitchen table to better manage the space with two children residing wither, a clothing rack to assist with more laundry, and potentially some assistance in setting up some bunk beds. Anything you can provide would be incredibly helpful. Thank you!

This request is for a remarkable young adult in foster care who is not only an incredibly talented artist but also a person with a powerful vision. He is preparing to attend college this fall to pursue his dream of becoming a graphic designer and filmmaker. He has shown an unwavering determination to follow his passion for art and storytelling. He has a genuine desire to create meaningful, impactful art that speaks to the issues and disparities he sees in the world around him. He wants to use his work to give voice to the people and causes that need to be heard, and to inspire others with stories that matter.

I have a current client that has a past due of $2,498.49 in their rent payments. The client is currently having weekly supervised visits with child in the home. If client doesn't receive any financial assistance client will have to move from apartment with no options for housing. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated to keep the client in their home. We understand this will take a collective effort of individuals coming together.

Large family's fridge is on the fritz! Looking for a new (to the family) fridge to replace it. Family has 5 children and they are currently all using a mini-fridge and it's just not big enough. Used but working refrigerator would be great, and they can pick up and haul from anywhere in the KC metro area. Family just got chickens and will need somewhere to store all of the eggs they hope to have soon!

CASA is requesting a gift card to a clothing store (Target/Amazon/Walmart/Kohls/etc) so our CASA teen can purchase clothing items for the summer time. This child is placed with her grandparent and the grandparent does not have the means to purchase clothing and wait for a reimbursement from Children's Division. This grandparent is unable to become licensed so he is not receiving the monthly stipends from Children's Division that most placements do. We have connected this youth with clothing donations, but we would love for her to have the opportunity to chose new clothing items that she feels comfortable and confident in. Our agency is searching for a willing organization that can help supply a crib AND dresser for a 3-week-old little baby. The child is staying with a relative kinship family, and they have four children of their own. Finances are a little tight now that they have an extra child in the home, and the child is not responding well to the current pack n' play that he is sleeping in. For the time being, this was all the family had, but they are looking for help to supply him with a newer crib that is more comfortable. They have also accumulated many outfits and items of clothing for the child, and are looking for an extra storage unit and/or dresser to store all of his items in. They need lots more, but right now the crib is what's impacting the child the most with his sleep routines. Children's Division appreciates all the help and offerings from local community partners. Mother for two children in care is in need of a bed and a couch so that she has somewhere to sleep when the children reunify.

This request is for a 16 year old boy who is currently living in a independent living place where he is currently learning skills to be able to take care of himself once he ages out of foster care. This child is a very soft spoken well mannered young man who takes directions very easily never ask for anything and always has a smile on his face. This child who has been in foster care since he was 10 years old works very hard in school and makes A's and B's. He participates in extracurricular sports activities such as football and concert choir. The child stated that he is going to need a suit for his concert choir this coming school year but also would like to have one for his prom. The child also stated that he would need new football cleats as he believes that he has grown out of the ones that he has. This request is to buy the child a new suit for both prom and concert choir and if there's enough a new pair of cleats. There is not a child that deserves it more as he works hard and accomplishes so much as a young man and does not let his situation define who he is.

Child received nice new bike for Christmas but is unable to ride because one pedal has not stayed on the bike properly, and where it attaches to the crank is stripped. The crank and pedal will need to be replaced. Child really wants to be able to ride his bike!

A single mother of two (ages 5 and 2) recently was able to save money to buy a reliable car, which makes it easier for her to transport her children to daycare and allows her to work a better job. However, she was driving on the highway, and a semi-truck that passed her lost part of its trailer, which sliced off her right front bumper. Her insurance deductible is high, and she does not have the extra money to cover the repair. She also does not want her rates to go up. We are looking for someone who might be able to repair the car at a reduced cost or donate the repair. We have a photo of the car that we can share if that would be helpful.
