As part of the process to bring her girls back home, she is currently in need of assistance obtaining one of her daughter’s birth certificates from the state of Florida. Unfortunately, she cannot cover the cost of the request at this time. She is seeking support through a gift card or financial assistance for $40.00 to complete the online payment required to obtain the official document. This birth certificate is a critical piece of documentation needed for the reunification process, and your support would greatly help her continue making progress toward her goals.

A mother of a two year old boy and a four year old girl is requesting a gift card to purchase undergarments for the children, as well as socks and shoes. Mother recently reunified with her children and is trying to ensure that she has all the items necessary for the children since they are now in her care. The Department is working with a family whose 6-month-old daughter is currently placed out of the home while they address the concerns which caused the case to open. The family is in need of assistance with the purchase of formula for their visits. They are struggling with this expense after taking time off of work to attend numerous medical appointments for their baby. These parents are engaged in all aspects of their case, having frequent, extended visits with their baby, and are eager to move their case forward. Baby is on Similac Total Comfort Formula and we are requesting up to 3 cans. Any assistance with this need so that parents can continue to work towards reunification is greatly appreciated!

This request is on behalf of a 16-year-old male foster youth who recently transitioned to a kin-like placement. The youth would like a Walmart or VISA gift card in order to purchase business-professional clothing, as he hopes to soon seek employment and interview at various local businesses.

Youth is 19-year old male participating in the Foster Youth in Transition Program. He is currently experiencing food insecurity and financial hardships currently. When the caseworker visited youth on April 17th youth did not have anything in his refrigerator besides condiments and did not have nutritional meals. Youth is in the process of finding a different job so money for nutritional meals have been a barrier. He only receives $23 for food stamps.

Hello! El Paso County DHS honors our Foster, Adoption, and Kinship families each year through an appreciation event. This year we are having a beach themed event on 6/28/2025 and are eager to partner with community members for tangible items to make our desired activity stations possible! We are specifically seeking craft items to support a leis making station, a seashell decorating station, and a mermaid hair station and ocean tattoo station! Mother of a 5 year old boy got a large crack in her windshield that she needs financial help repairing. She needs to get this repaired so she can transport her child to and from school and appointments, as well as herself to and from appointments and work. We are requesting a donation of $300 to replace her windshield.

Hello - DHS is working with a 10 year old kiddo who was recently placed with her maternal Grandma. This kiddo is asking to get a new pair of shoes as she is transitioning into middle school after the summer. She wears a size seven in shoes and would be grateful to receive a pair of the following shoes; Adidas, Jordans, Uggs or Nikes. Completing this request would make it so she can enter middle school with better confidence and comfort with her new shoes. Thank you for considering.

We are seeking support for a dedicated single mother currently living in Denver who is actively working toward reunification with her one-year-old child. She travels to Colorado Springs thrice weekly for family visits, which is essential for maintaining her bond with her child and progressing toward reunification.

She is requesting assistance with Bustang tickets or an alternative means of transportation to ensure she can consistently attend these visits.

Meeting this transportation need will remove a significant barrier, allowing her to remain engaged in reunification, strengthen her relationship with her child, and increase the likelihood of a triumphant and timely return home.

A 1 year old little boy is currently residing with a relative in Kansas. The relative and little boy had to come back to CO this week to complete some evaluations and assessments. The relative needs a hotel and rental car while in CO. She currently has a hotel and rental car booked through 4/19/2025 but we are requesting assistance in them having a hotel and rental car until 4/24/25. The current hotel is in Denver and the relative has to drive the little boy to Colorado Springs and Littleton for assessments.
