DCCCA is currently working with two teen mothers who are in critical need of baby monitors. One of them has a 13-day old, beautiful baby and she is a teen mom that could benefit from having a monitor to effectively care and attend to her sweet baby girl. Unfortunately, this teen mom is a migrant who came with no family and has no support. Our second momma has multiple babies who are in need of constant monitoring as they are now fast and tend to wander around. Keeping them safe is important and necessary. Please consider helping these beautiful children and young moms. Any help will be greatly appreciated, thank you for reading and God bless you!
This request is being made for strong, loving, single parent who is unfortunately, stuck in the reoccurring cycle that many people are facing with homelessness. However, the obstacle that this mother is facing are some that she cannot control. This mother was diagnosed with a debilitating disease called Scleroderma at the age of 14. Scleroderma involves the hardening and tightening of the skin which causes severe pain. The doctors gave her two years to live, but here she is 20+ years later, killing it. When this mother was at the hospital at the age of 14 finding out that she had this disease, her own mother abandoned here, leaving her at the hospital, and this mother was placed in the custody of the state. She eventually aged out of the system but this disease has left her disabled and has never been able to work. She receives about $700 from SSI and that was all she received to take care of herself and her two sons. She was able to rent a home, but due to her illness, she was admitted into the hospital and was there for months. During that time, she lost the home because she could not pay rent and the landlord took her to court and she was ordered to pay the landlord over $3000 in restitution. When making very limited income and taking care of herself and her two sons, it is nearly impossible for her to save any money. The only reason preventing her 11 year old son from reintegrating home with her is because she doesn't have stable housing.
A family with a 14 year old freshman and a 16 year old junior in high school need help with this month's rent payment. The payment of $890 is due on 11/30/23. Mom was let go from her job the week before Thanksgiving and is currently in the process of obtaining other employment. The family recently obtained residency in a new rental home after living in hotels for over a year. If the family was able to pay their rent for this month, the children will be able to stay in the first stable living environment they have had for over a year. This would allow the children to focus on their academics, emotional, and mental well-being instead of being concerned with where they will sleep that night.

Good morning care portal, one of our case workers at DCCCA contacted me on 11/07/2023 seeking help for one of their cases. This community resource specialist has been working alone with the case manager and the mother to help her obtain a job and find community resources. So far, she was offered a job last week, yaay! and she is on the right track to get back on her feet. DCCCA has made sure the children and mom are moving forward and are seeking help from our wonderful community. This family is seeking help with $450 to cover half of her rent. This can help her so much right now, as she is focusing on work, and trying to think ahead about her upcoming bills. DCCCA will also assist with Christmas costs so she can focus on saving for her utility bills and getting her financial needs straight. Alone with this request for help, I am seeking a church in Gardner that can wrap around this family and welcome this family for continued support. Not financially, but guidance, community, and ongoing religious and empowerment support for this family of four. I appreciate you reading and I know we can make a difference for this family.
On the children's day of referral into foster care, our kinship department worked tirelessly to find relative connections for these four children to help ensure that they would be able to stay together with their siblings. We were able to find an uncle of the children and his significant other that were enthused to take in the children to ensure that the children were able to go to a home that they were familiar with and people that they had connections to. They were able to be approved as the placement for the children and the children have been safe and stable in their uncle's home since coming into care. However, the family has had a difficult time being able to get beds and mattresses for the children to be able to continue to remain in the home and they are in need of two twin sized bed frames and mattresses and a twin sized bunk bed with mattresses as soon as possible to be able to continue to maintain the children in the home. The family would greatly appreciate any assistance in getting these items to be able to continue to remain placement for their nieces and nephew. Thank you for your consideration and for any help that you may be able to provide.
This bill was the cost for this youth to ship Christmas gifts to their siblings out of the country. This would allow their siblings to also receive Christmas gifts.
Struggling family has unexpected bills and has fallen behind on their storage bill. As of Nov 27, 2023 All their belongings will be put up for auction.
Family got behind when living situations changed and family had to start paying all of the rent instead of just 600.00$
Family is now needing to move and pay first and last month rent for a bigger place so their family can be re unified. Already struggling they now have to pay a 1200$ deposit / $250 per fee and first month's rent which is $1225. Not to mention they lost their food stamps and any extra money goes to feeding the kids. Unfortunately, if their unit is lost at auction this will put reintegration even further behind due to having to replace all their belonging. Would you please consider pitching in.
We are so grateful
Jennifer
One of the children on my caseload is being disrupted on and will need to move placements by December 20th, the child would like to move with her older sister and brother in law, who would also like to have her but they are needing to get a bigger place to make this happen they currently only have a one bedroom , they have found a new place in which the deposit is 700 but they would also have to break their lease and pay 1410 they are needing assistance with getting these paid even if it is not the whole 2100, but at least the deposit would be okay

Family needs a weighted vest for kiddo with high energy. School has recommended the family invests in a weighted vest for when he is unregulated and can't hold his attention. The family can't afford the vest but is in need of the vest due to lack of options left to help this kiddo.

This family is working on getting their finances in order, and are taking steps to continue to be financially stable. Dad has just gotten a new job, and is looking at moving to a more affordable apartment when the lease is up in January. he is current on all bills, however, his car payment has gotten out of hand, as he missed a few payments, and despite everything he is trying to do, he cannot seem to get ahead on his payments. He is worried that his car will be repossessed which will put his new job in jeopardy, as he will struggle to have reliable transportation to get there. He said if he could just get some help with getting back up to date on his car, he'll be in much better shape to continue working on staying financially stable, as well as keeping his credit at an ok spot so he can be approved for either a new apartment or a home loan. Dad and the social worker at the school are looking into veterans loan options as well, as he is a veteran and know that there are various assistance plans available to him through the military.

There is a need for a mother who is raising her 12 year old son who has a serious heart condition. This mother just moved into a separate house from the patient's father and is renting for the first time. About three months ago Mom decided that the environment her and her son were living in was not conducive to a healthy lifestyle so she found a rental property and is working hard as a housekeeper in order to pay the rent. Mom is needing assistance with a washing machine. She reports that she has a functional dryer but the washing machine is broken and she thinks she needs a new one completely! If a church is willing to support this Mom and her son it would be greatly appreciated! Additionally, the hospital social worker sent Mom a link for her to apply for food stamps but as of now, she has been paying for rent and utilities and food out of pocket and could really use support during this gap of time when the food stamps are not active yet. This Mother is Spanish-speaking only!
Asking for a toddler/convertible car seat and a highchair
Young adult was in a car accident and has been unable to work. She will need a new car seat for her child because the seat was in the car at the time of the accident. She also needs a highchair because she was recently referred to an eating specialist for her son and told it would be best for him to have a highchair to eat.
Hello! 18 year old, female, is working on aging out of care. She is in desperate need of a car in order to be able to continue working towards her goal of aging out successfully. This has been her biggest barrier. She is a hard worker and very smart and resourceful. She is working and recently graduated high school. She has identified housing for herself but will not be able to maintain her job without transportation. We have found a car for sale for 1500 that she is very interested in. We would appreciate any amount of help to pay for the car. She is working on saving up for her part of the payment and is very determined. If you can help, please let me know. Thank you!
We are desperately asking for donations and/or someone that can provide hair care services to one of our children currently in need. Over the last few months this youth has been through a lot and is now stable enough to work on her own health and wellbeing. This youth's natural hair is currently severely damaged and we have received a quote from a local salon for $900 to fix the damage and redo her sisterlocks.
This 5 year old little boy has suffered extreme trauma and neglect throughout most of his young life. Per recommendation we have enrolled this young boy in Hip hop dance lessons in order for him to express his emotions in a positive and constructed way. Being so young we are experiencing many emotions we are not verbally able to express or understand. Hip Hop offered not only positive social interaction with peers, but also a method to express himself through motion. Not to mention it is a BIG self esteem booster for Him.
We are asking for support for the Fee associated with this class. We would like to keep him in a stable environment since most of his young life has been dysregulated and unpredictable. Please help us continue to change this little boys life for the better. Our future is a direct reflection of our youth. Thank you Jennifer Case Manager Updated on November 08, 2023 by an Agency Worker We are still in need of assistance with this. Matthew is doing so well and beginning to come out of his shell through hip hop. Placement would suffer significant hardship with our help.
This family is working reintegration and living in Missouri. However, until the interstate approval goes through (ICPC), they cannot have overnight visits at the home, This would allow for the children to spend the night together as a family in Kansas. These parents have been working hard to get everything ready for their children to come home. We are so close, but cannot do overnights due to the location currently.
