We are reaching out on behalf of a newly referred family from Children’s Hospital Colorado. This family is currently experiencing a housing crisis and is in the process of relocating to a shelter. At this time, one of their most urgent needs is safe transportation for their children, ages 6, 5, and 4 years old.

The family is not yet enrolled in SafeCare services but is being actively supported through our intake process. They are facing numerous challenges and are doing their best to provide safety and stability for their children.

We are requesting the following items to support their safe relocation to temporary housing: • 2 high-back booster seats (for the 6- and 5-year-olds) • 1 forward-facing car seat with a 5-point harness (for the 4-year-old)

Any assistance or donation of these items would have an immediate and meaningful impact on this family’s ability to safely transport their children and access shelter resources.

Great grandmother accepted placement of her newborn grandchild over the weekend. She is in need of a new infant car seat and other baby items. The current kinship family is requesting help with obtaining a crib mattress for a 1 month old newborn baby that was placed in their care. Currently, the baby is sleeping in a bassinet, and the family needs help in obtaining a mattress, so the baby can sleep in his crib.

A father who resides in Virginia is coming to Colorado to visit with his children age 15 male and age 14 Female. This father has never met his children and the DHS case here is supporting him reconnecting with his children. The father could benefit from support in purchasing a hotel room with a kitchenette for him to stay in while here. If this need is met he will have some finical support.

This request is for a 15 year old teen, and she's needing a large dresser for all her clothing and items. She currently has a small plastic one but just received more clothes for the Summer.

A single pregnant mother of a 11 month old daughter is in need of funds to help pay for parking at her appointments and her daughter. We are requesting $50 in quarters or a Visa gift card so she can use them at parking meters.

Hello, this request will support a grandfather received placement of his two grandchildren. They are borrowing car seats from the previous placement and could use two of their own so they can return those seats. This request is to support a homeless mother of 3 with one on the way due in August. She is seeking short-term support in the form of either a hotel stay or supportive housing once the baby is due as she will be in the hospital and in need of medical attention when the baby comes in August. This donation will help provide short-term housing and provide mother and the baby with safe and short-term stable housing at this time. Mother is very resourceful and willing to seek support and help to find housing, but needs a safe place to stay in the meantime. Thank you for your consideration!

A kin placement who took a boy (DOB: 9/30/2021), a boy (DOB: 5/12/2019), and a girl (DOB:7/15/2009) under emergency circumstances, is in need of assistance. Taking the children into her home significantly increased household expenses, especially grocery costs. Provider unexpectedly had her food stamps stolen and was told she may not receive her benefits again until August. She is concerned about keeping enough food in the house until her financial support kicks in. A gift card for groceries in the amount of $300 from Walmart of King Soopers would be a huge blessing for her to ensure the children are always fed. Thank you in advance for your consideration!

Hello, I have 2 children who are placed here in Colorado Springs with their grandparents on an ICPC from Rhode Island. These children are in need of some school uniforms as they go to CIVA. These uniform pieces can be purchased at Walmart and do not require a school logo! They spent half a year in this school last year and were lucky enough to have some pieces from a closet at the school, but nothing has been donated to the school yet and they have grown so much since the end of last year. The boy is in size 10/12 and the girl is in size 7/8. They can have khaki or navy pants and a polo shirt in red, gold, navy, or royal. They are also in need of shoes. The boy wears a size 4 and the girl wears a size 1. Any help with these items is greatly appreciated! On the Walmart website the pants run about $15 each, and shirts are about $5 each. It also looks like shoes can be anywhere from $10-30. Again thank you so much for the time reading this and we appreciate any help that is offered.

Child is 4 years old, girl, and living with her maternal grandparents. One of the grandparents is wheelchair bound and the other is a care giver for her and the child of this case. They are on a fixed income and struggle to make purchases outside of basic needs.

We are asking for a twin size bed and bed frame.

This will allow this 4 year told to transition to a big girl bed.

Mother is in need of a cellphone with minutes. She is trying to move out of father’s home and recently lost her phone and her car broke down. Mother needs phone to keep in touch with DHS Caseworker and be able to connect to local resources. Mother has 4-year-old child.
