Help Support a Youth Aging Out

High Urgency Request
Good afternoon. I am requesting community assistance to help support an older youth on my caseload currently in the care of the MO Children's Division. At this time, My youth is needing financial assistance to help with vehicle repairs. My youth is in need of $360 + Tax to help with replacing an Accelerator Pedal and clean Throttle Body in her 2008 Chevy Impala. There is also a hub bearing growling/hum noise that changes with speed that needs to be addressed. The estimated cost is $360 plus tax to address these issues. My youth's car has broken down once already and had to pay almost $800 in repairs. My youth's job requires her to have stable transportation for work and I am worried her car may break down again if these issues are not addressed. My youth plans to seel her car and finance a newer one once these repairs are made. Any financial assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you and have a blessed day!!

2-month-old baby boy who has been in the NICU since birth, discharging home on Wednesday (12/06) with complex medical needs and significant medical equipment (feeding tube/pump; suction machine; cough assist). Family already has a stroller (double stroller) but this stroller is not safe for baby due to positioning needs. The family has been encouraged to obtain either a carseat with bassinet attachment (and bottom shelf for equipment) or a wagon to help transport baby. Any help in obtaining this item that family was not expecting to have to need is greatly appreciated. Please reach me at(###) ###-#### to discuss plans for assistance. Robyn

This request is to help parents in being able to throw a birthday party for their two year old daughter at Chuck E Cheese. This is one of six children and one of four birthdays in December and January. By covering the cost for the party would alleviate some of that stress the parents experience during this time to make sure their children get to have fun on their birthdays, get presents for their birthday, while also making sure that they are able to get all the children presents for Christmas.

Mother is on a THV with her 2 year old son She has made lots of progress of the year and has stable housing and is drug free. Her son is growing quickly and unfortunately all the clothes she was given he has out grown, or he just only has 3 pairs of socks for example. I asked Mom send me a list of the clothing she needs for her son. this is the list, 10-15 pairs of 2t socks, 4 pairs of 3t jeans, 4 pairs of 3t sweats, 4 pairs of 3t hoodies, 4-5 shirts sized 3t, a winter coat, snow boots, 2 sweaters 3t, and 2 pairs of tennis shoes size 6. I have went upon myself and research how much each of these things would cost at Walmart. Socks are $19.99 for a 12 pack, Jeans are $15 a pair, sweats and hoodies we can do bundles a matching set for $12.53 for the hoodie and sweats or $20.76 for a three pack of sweats or $11.98 for one hoodie, Shirts $17.92 for a 4 pack, winter coat is $23.98, snow boost size 6 are $28.99, tennis shoes size black neutral pair $16.87 colorful pair $18.44, and sweaters would be $11.64 each. After calculating it all up the total was $279.80. I'm asking for $300 for Mom for any extra taxes or fees and to make sure her son can get everything he needs. I will accompany her on the clothing hall so we make sure we get the right items priced on this form.

Grandmother/mother needs assistance with her rent. On top of her three minor children and her two adult children, has taken in her younger grandsons, one of whom is disabled, which has put a strain on her finances. Grandmother has been a saint to her family and has taken care of them, while also caring for her nieces and nephews, and her terminally ill mother, who lives in Kansas. This money would help her take care of her rent and allow her family to stay in the same home they have for decades.

Need help in purchasing new football cleats and helmet visor for a 14 y/o boy who recently reunified with his mom. Throughout his time in care he changed between multiple placements and different schools. Despite the many transfers, the teenager maintained excellent grades and attendance and has been able to play football at each school. He is growing rapidly and needs new cleats and a required visor for his new team. Football is extremely important to him and he works hard to ensure he can play in addition to his educational goals. He has high hopes and aspirations to attend college and interest in computers/coding. He utilizes football as a healthy coping skill and gains many skills from his coaches and team such as teamwork, discipline, and physical exercise. Either the specific items or a gift card to a sporting goods store would help obtain the items and allow him to pick out the right fit/style himself as he is learning financial skills as a teenager such as how much items cost, how to shop around, and check out/pay for yourself. Helping meet this need would free up funds in the home for other necessary items.

KCMO Angels just received a referral for a biological mother who has worked so hard to achieve reunification and currently just got her kids back for a trial home visit. She was referred to our Love Box program for being able to use some emotional support as she adjusts to parenting two children with special needs again. She does have some limited family support, however that support has been somewhat exhausted due to the length of the foster care case. She has worked very hard to maintain sobriety and obtain stable housing for this trial home visit with her children to be possible. When completing her intake today to get her matched with a Love Box leader here at KCMO Angels, we just fell in love with her dedication to make reunification work as she is adamant to not lose her children again. We are striving to get her match before her case closes and her children are released from care while she is eligible. When talking with her today and inquiring for any holiday wants, needs so we could bless her in that way while she is on our waiting list, her only request was a Christmas tree with colored lights for her two young children. We are calling on our amazing Careportal community to help make this happen!

A family of six, five children, all Hispanic, are in dire need of winter clothing- Gloves and coats. The eldest daughter has no coats that fit her anymore and the younger kids are wearing her old coats, but they don't fit and are torn. Gloves are our top concern because none of the kids nor mom have gloves. None of the kids are in school and we are working on getting them enrolled in a new school because they recently moved. Mom really needs help to manage the needs of all her children and she is struggling to get ready for the winter. She shares a bed with her three daughters and her two sons share a bed, all 6 of them share the same bedroom because the boys attic room is being remodeled and is unsafe for them currently. I have already put in a request for additional bedding supplies and am working to get the boys separated from the girls but am still needing help getting them some clothing. The children all told me individually that they get cold at home and are scared of how cold it is going to get this Winter because they do not have proper winter clothing or gloves. Anything to help these kids get prepared for this winter so they can go back to school in proper clothing would be amazing. These kids all want to be in school and want to be involved in group activities but have no clothing to do so. Giving them clothes would not only boost their confidence but allow them to go outside safely and join groups that will enrich their lives and expand their safety networks.
