DHS is working with a family who have two children; a soon to be 2yr old son and 1yr old son. Mother is requesting assistance with obtaining birthday gifts for the 2yr old as his birthday is coming up.

Helping mother with toddler gifts/gift card would allow mother to bring items to her child to open from her.

Helping mother baby proof her home will further ensure the safety of the children as they transition home to their mother.

DHS is working with a family with two children: a 7yr old girl and 9yr old boy. The children are currently placed with a grandparent. The children have requested to participate in extracurricular activities particularly soccer and gymnastics which will assist them in socialization and staying busy during the summer months etc.

Assisting in paying the school fees ensures the children will remain at their usual school where they have positive healthy connections, and have been attending.

This request is to support a prospective adoptive family seeking to adopt their 4-year-old biological relative. While the case is currently under appeal by the birth parents, the family is actively working toward becoming certified for foster care. They have already completed numerous courses focused on providing trauma-informed care and are now requesting assistance with the cost of CPR and First Aid certification. Any level of support would be greatly appreciated if full funding is not possible.

A Teller County family is in need of food assistance. This kinship family recently came together in hopes of providing a home for a child in need so the child would remain with familiar faces versus go into an unknown situation in foster care. The family is able to manage their finances normally, however, groceries are starting to become an urgent matter. This Kinship home said "YES" when others walked away from this child; stretching their already elastic budget to the brink of breaking. We are gently asking our community to come together to provide food in a way so that this family will not need to worry where the next meal will come from, how they will make a meal last, or who will have the biggest portion to fill a belly. Let's come together to support a family who said "yes". We are grateful for help in any amount. Note: this family has also been provided community resources such as food pantries. The mother of the child is needing a new phone card with minutes to add to her cell phone so that she is able keep communication with her team and to be able to engage in her parenting time. The child is currently placed in Denver and there has not been in person visits yet. The team is working on getting in person visits started but the mother is needing a phone card to get that scheduled. The mother will need a phone card to be able to continue to ensure that she is on top of her appointments and time with her son. Thank you! Grace

Hello - DHS is working with a Grandma of two, ages 10 and 1 who expressed needing help with getting her utilities paid. This Grandma is needing in total $314. The caregiver has recently experienced a car accident that has impaired her ability to work and in result has not been able to have or maintain a job. Helping with this need would take some stress off of the caregiver and family knowing that their utilities will continue to be on so she can provide care for these two young girls. This caregiver would appreciate any help, even if not in full. Thank you for considering.

Two Teller County children (boys aged 7 and 12) are in need of $100 Wal-Mart or Visa gift cards to purchase clothes. They were recently placed in foster care, and their biological caregiver was asked to prepare the boys' clothing items from home to be taken to them at their foster placement. Unfortunately, this has not happened. The boys just started at a new school and do not have enough clothing to get them through a full week. Please contemplate helping these children and giving them the gift of being able to select their own new clothing and help empower them during this time of uncertainty and change. A dad, who's three children ( a boy, age 7, a girl age 6, and a boy age 4) are struggling financially at this time. Their children are placed with grandma in Colorado Springs. Dad recently got out of jail and is trying to find work. He is very stressed about food insecurities. Dad would like to be able to bring food to visits with the children, but does not have the means to do so at this time. A $300 walmart card would allow him to get groceries for a couple of weeks while he continues his search for employment. This would be a big blessing in his life if it was granted. Walmart is preferred over King Soopers because he does not have a car. He can walk to Walmart. Thank you so much for considering!

Hello - DHS is working with a father of a 10 year old girl. This father is utilizing a phone card for communication with his team and his daughter. He is running out of minutes on his phone and is asking for a phone card that way he can continue communicating with the people on his team to continue to work on his treatment, as well as to continue to have conversations with his daughter as she likes to message and call him throughout the week. We would greatly appreciate the help, father currently is using straight talk.
