Youth, aged 18, is a refugee here in Canada without familial supports. She has been in a room and board situation with supports from her school community for the past year since she has moved to Winnipeg, however is transitioning to independent living in a studio apartment. This youth is very excited to be moving into her own apartment, however it is a small space and she has zero furniture, kitchen items, bathroom items, etc to move out on her own, and limited funds with her agency independent living allowance. This youth has been working hard in school to work towards graduating high school and is starting a summer job in a daycare in the coming weeks. She is very excited to be moving out on her own on July 1st.

Single mother of 6 month old baby who is experiencing financial strain. Mom had a baby monitor with camera that she received second hand. This was helpful for when she would be doing chores around the apartment or taking a mental health break in her bathroom. The baby monitor provided mom with security and reassurance that her baby was okay. Unfortunately, the baby monitor broke and mom is not able to afford a new one. Mom has reached out to community supports but has been unsuccessful in obtaining a new monitor.

I am working with a single mom to a twenty three-month-old girl. The mom is a first-time parent and is struggling to provide beyond the bare necessities. She is on social assistance and has a limited healthy support network. The mom is requesting a stroller wagon which will allow her to take her daughter out in the community safely. The mom is also requesting 2T summer clothes for her growing toddler. She is a loving and caring parent and wants to provide a stable home for her daughter and having these items will help her reach her goal.
