Help Reunify a Bio Family
We wish to share this success story and request this community’s support for this family for their Reunification! Mother came to the Departments attention due to instability and substance abuse, and her 3-year-old daughter entered care. Mother has actively worked to regain custody of her 3-year-old daughter. She has worked so hard to obtain and maintain sobriety and to provide for herself and her young infant son who lives with her. She is doing very well in meeting her son’s needs. She is sharing a home with a supportive and healthy friend but there just isn’t the option for her to remain there nor for her 3-year-old daughter to join her there. DFCS is prepared to place the child with the mother shortly after she has housing established. Mother has been granted unsupervised day visits and we would like to move forward with weekends and overnights and plan the day the child will be reunified with her Mom. This process will move quickly as Mom has done a great job maintaining the requests of DFCS and Court. She has been so steady and consistent for an extended period of time and we would love her to feel the support of her DFCS Community in this time of success and overcoming.
She has affordable housing identified right now which is $600.00 a month. She needs $1700.00 total to secure it.

Help Preserve an Adoptive Placement
A great aunt and a grandmother (sisters) adopted a total of 5 siblings. They live in the same home and do everything they can to meet all of the children's needs. Two of the siblings are autistic and require specialized care and attention. Three of the children are eligible and would love to go to the Boys and Girls Club throughout the summer. This would give the caregivers the ability to focus on the child with the highest exceptional needs, while the others are able to spend their days having fun and learning at the Boys and Girls Club. The children can attend at a special rate of $30 each per week. The caregivers' finances are extremely tight. We are asking for one month for now, as the caregivers try identify ways to cover the rest of the summer. The children would love to start next week if possible. Donations can be paid directly to the Murray Co Boys and Girls Club, and we will provide you with the information. Thank you so much!
