The department is currently working with a family in the Galax area. The family has a seven month old child and the great grandmother is serving as a caregiver of the child from time to time. The great grandmother is currently wheel chair bound and is in need of a new wheel chair ramp as she is struggling to get in and out of her trailer.

The department is working with a family in the Galax area. The child is a 7 month old boy who has been parentally placed outside of the home. The placement is currently residing in Sparta, North Carolina. The placement is in need of a toddler car seat along with a high chair for the child.

The department has a youth in Foster Care that is currently receiving treatment at a facility for mental health. The youth will be placed in the care of a relative upon being released. The youth has a sensory need that is fulfilled by swinging. The relatives have requested help with obtaining a swing set for the child since it is nice weather and she will be able to get outside and swing and run off additional energy that would cause behavioral issues.

The family has also requested help getting a DVD player. The youth cannot have internet access as a safety precaution, so the family would like to have a way for her to watch indoor movies at night and when weather is bad.

The department is working with a family in the Austinville area. The family is in need of Size 3 diapers and Size 5 diapers. The children are only able to wear Luvs diapers. The children are also in need of wipes, but are only able to handle Huggies wipes as they have sensitive skin. The family also has a baby girl who is in need of 3-6 month summer clothes.

Child is in need of closes in order to help support the family due to financial strain. The child needs socks, underwear, shirts, pants, and shoes. The child is a youth size 12 and shoes size 8. If this need was met it would help the child through the summer season as the family works on financially getting back on track.

The father who had primary custody of his two children had to be placed in hospital due to an incident in which he may not recover. The current placements for the children need assistance with clothing as they did not have much and gas cards to get them to appointments for their mental and sibling visits. If these needs are met it will help the children with clothing for the summer season and address their mental health with the situation of the loss of their primary custodian and the siblings having to be separated from each other.

The department is currently working with a family who is struggling to pay the power bill in the Hillsville area. The mother has had several family members who have abused her and caused her to put power in her name at different locations. The family members then do not pay the power bill causing her power bill to be very high. The family is in need of paying $388 by June 5, 2025 to prevent the power from being disconnected.

The department is currently working with a family of a single mother with three children. The mother's minivan is in need of repairs and the mother is struggling to make ends meet. The mother is residing in the Hillsville area.

The department is currently working with a family of a special needs male child who is six years old. The child loves to play outside and the family is currently in need of sand for a sand box.

URGENT NEED - We have a single mom of two girls still living in a motel needing any assistance to maintain another week's stay. Any and all assistance is greatly appreciated!

THIS FAMILY HAS RESIDED IN VIRGINIA FOR SOME TIME. THEY HAVE A SPECIAL NEEDS CHILD THAT REQUIRES CONSTANT SUPERVISION AS WELL AS TWO YOUNGER CHILDREN.

THIS FAMILY IS IN NEED OF ASSISTANCE TO RENT EQUIPMENT TO REMOVE LARGE DEBRY WHERE AN OLD HOUSE COLLAPSED. THEY WILL BE MOVING A DOUBLE WIDE ON THE PROPERTY AND DUE TO THE COST OF FIXING THEIR WELL EARLIER THIS YEAR, THEY ARE IN NEED OF ASSISTANCE.

Mother had leg amputaed due to illness and family is dealing with financial and emotional duress from this traumatic event. Father lost full time job as he was helping to take care of wife/mother and children during this traumatic life crisis. Father trying his best to keep food on table, children in school and manage finances as best as possible during this critical time found the family in need of major appliances such as a washer, dryer and a refrigerator. At this time the father is using coolers with ice to keep groceries cold. He is also trying his best to wash the 3year old, 3rd graders and 1st graders clothes in the sink and then hanging to dry. He is doing all this while trying to take care of his wife who just had her leg amputated. The family has been though a lot and needs help in their finanical and emotional time of need.
