The family of four, two adults and two children, female age 13 and male age 10 had been homeless for an extended period of time. They have secured housing however have no items needed for the housing. The family is in need of any and all items to set up an apartment for the four of them.
They are in need of all of the basic items. They have purchased some kitchen items to get themselves started in their new place.
Any and all contributions will help the family to get established and secured in their home.
The children are desperately in need of beds and bedding and this will help their overall well being along with other basic essential items.

Kim:
The mattresses are provided by a grant from Community Bank. We also have two bed frames for the child, provided by the same grant. When I spoke to the caseworker last week, the family could use a couch, table and coffee table that I have available. are these items still needed?

First I would like to say this portal is amazing and has helped so many families in our county - Thank you!!
We are working with a grandmother who has custody of her teenaged granddaughter. Grandma has fairly limited resources and financial means due to being unable to work due to medical issues.
Grandma has a 2006 Chevy Malibu. The car is in need of repair so she can take care of daily tasks, and provide transportation for her granddaughter.
Grandma bought breaks and rotors for the car however can not afford to pay someone at this time to put the breaks and rotors on. Additionally she does not want to drive the car somewhere for it to be fixed due to the concerns of her own safety as well as others on the road. We are looking for someone who has the tools to bring to her home, as well as the valuable skill of putting the new rotors and breaks on her car. We are hoping someone would be willing to donate their time, and valuable skill to this grandmother and her granddaughter.
Grandma stated that she does need a new car battery as well. Prices seem to run from $90 to $150ish---- I know due to the extreme cold we get here in WNY, the battery would have to be able to weather the extreme temps.
Helping this family have the ability to travel to/from school, doctor appointments, or the store would greatly ease some of the stress they work through on a day to day basis.
Thank you for any consideration on helping this family out!!

Hello. I have a kinship caregiver, a maternal aunt, caring for eight year old who was initially placed with the maternal aunt via a safety plan after being removed from her mother and parent substitute. The biological father, who lives out of the area, has stepped up to be the resource for the eight year old and five year old sibling whom he is also the father of. The father was recently awarded temporary custody of both children. The five year old resides with him, while the 8 year old continues to reside with the maternal aunt in an agreed upon plan as to not disrupt her prior to the end of the school year. The family visits together frequently although the father does not have transportation of his own, leaving the burden on the maternal aunt who is financially limited. Distance is approximately an hour and half each way to transport.
I am requesting help in the form of a gas card(s) in order to assist the family/ease the burden of transport in order continue to promote positive family time on a consistent basis.

Grandmother with Cerebral Palsy has custody of 3 children ages 4-14. Grandma's disability hinders her and limits her mobility. Grandmother recently has seen cockroaches in the home. This is a continuing infestation that has not been eradicated using roach gels. We are requesting extermination and prevention. Again, because of grandma's limited mobility, assistance with this process will also be very helpful! Once the issue is taken care of, the children will feel safer in their environment and live more cleanly without these health hazards. *When researching costs, we saw a price range $175 - $275. The home made need more than one application. Thank you
