The family is suffering financial due to family size. The family is large with children ranging from ages 3-14 and they are in need of a mattress for the family.

A foster parent accepted emergency placement of two children, ages 10 and 12. The foster home was not set up for children this age, so the family does not have appropriate beds for the children. The family is requesting assistance with obtaining two twin sized beds (not bunks) and bedding. The 10 year old is female and the 12 year old is male. This will allow the foster parent to maintain placement of the two children.

An elderly woman with serious health conditions in our community is in need of a working electric stove/oven for her home and a front door. This can be an older or used appliance as long as it is in good condition and that it works. The door would need to be pre-hung door (with frame).

The Department is working with a single mother and her four boys, ages 10, 8, 5, 1 due to concerns for injurious environment. Mother is currently out of work and is in need of assistance with furniture. The family is need of a kitchen table (seats 6) due to their old table breaking. The mother is in need of a queen bedframe/box spring. Any assitance is greatly appreciated.

The Department became involved with the family due to physical abuse and injurious environment. The family has 3 daughters who are in need of twin size bedframes and mattresses. Ages are: 8, 14 and 16.

The Department is currently working with a family due to substance abuse. The child, male age 2 years old, is placed with a temporary safety provider. The mother has completed inpatient treatment and is now recommended to participate in intensive outpatient services, which is in Charlotte. The Mother is in need of a gas cared to assist her with getting back and forth to treatment. Any assistance is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

A 22-year-old young man, who has aged out of foster care, has secured housing and college admission but needs essential furniture to thrive. Most needs have been met, but he is currently sleeping on an air mattress. He needs a full bed and bedding.

A household of 3 adults, consisting of a couple and a relative needs a full or queen-size mattress set, please. They have worked together to secure housing but cannot purchase the needed furnishings. We have volunteers who will help to pick up and deliver the mattress.

A family of 4 with a 2-week-old newborn and elementary student are in danger of losing their home due to a broken down car. Dad has not been able to work because his car stopped working. He had it checked and was told it is the transmission. He bought a transmission for his car; however, he is not able to afford to have the repairs done. It is the cycle of poverty. He is not able to work because of transportation issues, but can't fix his transportation issues without new income. The family is getting behind on bills and rent is right around the corner. In search of a mechanic to install the transmission or pay to do so.

In addition, the family needs a crib and mattress for their 2-week-old baby.
