Help Preserve a Foster Care Placement

The Department is requesting a specific bed that will grow with the child and provides safety. Ever since the child was placed with the caregiver, her doctors and the resource parent have noticed that she had difficulties that were physical, developmental, mental, and emotional, which is why she was placed into medical case management. The child has been in occupational therapy since she was about 4 months old, and physical therapy since she was about 9 months old. She was recently diagnosed with higher level of needs. While her challenges are not the worst out there, she does have a multitude of difficulties that make her day to day life challenging. The child is currently in a crib, but she is outgrowing it and wanting to climb in and out of it, which is unsafe. Because of her diagnosis, she has very limited impulse control, so even though she knows climbing in and out of the bed is unsafe, she still tries to do it. This bed will grow with her, offer a safe sleep space, and the rail will keep her from falling out at night.

Help Improve a Child's Wellbeing

The client has 6 family members. Their children are ages 16, 14, 2 and newborn. Client has not been working due to taking care of her 2-year-old daughter and newborn. The family were able to retrieve the baby essentials such as car seat from the safety class, clothes and diapers. The client was able to find a used stroller for the baby but as she used it for both children, it broke. During the baby’s doctor’s appointment and her own, she takes both little ones. She explained that it is tough to keep both together. The client tries to keep her 2year old close by holding her hand but runs off making it a little difficult. It was a cesarean birth which makes it harder to catch up to her toddler. The family does not have funds to purchase the need at this time and mother is in need of a double stroller to keep her children safely together while she runs errands. Thank You in advance for your support and consideration with helping this family. A link of the double stroller can be found in the notes section.

Help Preserve a Kinship Placement

KINSHIP.The caregiver has 2 children at home, one is 5 years old, and the other is 8 years old. They both love thier Karate classes to build confidence, engage with other children, and increase their physical activity. It is difficult to pay for their karate with the increase of cost of living. The caregiver’s income is applied to food, diapers for bio one year old child and clothes, bills, and extra supplies for school or children’s needs. This support will greatly assist in providing for the karate classes that the children enjoy participating in. With this support, caregivers will not feel the financial burden or the stress of being unable to afford their children’s karate classes. The children will be able to continue pursuing an activity they enjoy, use a form of therapy and fostering personal growth in a sustainable way. Through the classes, they will build self-esteem, enhance social skills, and improve listening abilities, all while engaging in a long-term positive and healthy activity. Currently, the participant is only receiving $2,000 for each child. With the continuous rise in costs, particularly for food and household bills, it is becoming increasingly difficult to afford the karate classes. If the cost of living continues to increase, the caregiver may no longer be able to provide this valuable opportunity for the children. This creates a barrier to their ongoing development and well-being, which is essential for their growth and future success.

Due to these full-time caregiving responsibilities, the Caregiver is unable to work. her source of income is a fixed pension, which makes it extremely difficult to meet the daily needs of the family including food, school-related costs, medical expenses, and housing. Help Improve a Child's Safety/Wellbeing

This request is on behalf of a determined and resilient 35-year-old single mother with four children, ages 12, 9, 5, and a 4-month-old infant. Demonstrating remarkable courage and initiative, she recently secured employment in Las Vegas and is taking a bold step toward a brighter future for her family by relocating to begin this new chapter. Until now, the family has been living with the client’s parents in a shared household. With the support of loved ones and her own drive to improve her circumstances, she has secured a two-bedroom apartment in Las Vegas and will be moving before the end of May. However, because they’ve been staying with relatives, the family currently does not own any beds. To help them make a successful transition and ensure the children have a comfortable and safe place to sleep, we are requesting support for: One bunk bed, One full-size bed, This support will help alleviate some of the initial financial burden of relocating and allow the mother to focus on settling in and building stability for her children. Your assistance will provide not just furniture, but a foundation of comfort, dignity, and hope during this critical time. Thank you for considering this request and for supporting families in their pursuit of opportunity and independence.

Help Strengthen a Bio Family

This request is for a mom and her 3 month old baby boy, who are in desperate need of a new stroller. Mom was previously in an in-patient drug treatment program for parents with her son, where she was provided a stroller to use by the program. Mom has been doing wonderfully and graduated from that program, but she had to give the stroller back when she moved out. Mom is in a new outpatient program and has moved to a sober living facility where she has been able to keep her son with her, but she no longer has a way to safely and comfortably bring her with him when she leaves the facility. A new stroller would open up this family's world and help mom keep her son close and safe. Mom takes public transportation a lot, to get to work and her various services, so a more compact or travel stroller would be ideal. Mom previously had an Evenflo stroller, but she is not picky at all and would be happy as long as she has some kind of stroller - she is willing to make whatever is available work for her and her son! Funding this request helps support a hardworking, dedicated mom in ultimately reunifying with her very young baby boy, who she has fought to show up and be present for since he was removed from her custody shortly after his birth.
