Help Preserve a Foster Care Placement

High Urgency Request
The children were removed due to the parents not having a stable place to live and substance misuse. The siblings are placed with relatives, but they were not able to take the younger children. This is a sibling group of 6. The foster mother is in need of pull-ups for the children, a 4 year old boy and twin 3 year old girls. This will really help the foster mother be able to continue caring for the siblings and not having to separate them into different placements.

A 21 year old young man who has taken custody of his 11 year old brother to keep him from returning to Foster Care. The biological father is deceased and the bio mother's parental rights have been terminated as she has been departed to another country. The older brother is struggling to pay his rent and is now $3000.00 behind due to losing his job. The apartment they reside in is low income housing. However, when he lost his job and could not provide verification of income his rent increased therefore causing a greater hardship. If the older brother loses the apartment the younger brother will more than likely have to return to foster care where he would have safe and stable housing. The request is for funds for the older brother to pay his back rent to keep the apartment for him and the younger brother.

A 4 year old girl and her mother have recently had to transition from Port Saint Lucie, Fl to Orlando, Fl for the child to participate in a food study at the Arnold Palmer Feeding Clinic. The mother has to travel back and forth from Orlando to Port Saint Lucie on the weekend to be able to spend time with her other children until she finds permanent housing in Orlando that can house all of her children. They are currently housed at the Ronald MacDonald House but the Ronald MacDonald house can only house those participating in the program. The mother just recently obtained a job but needs assistance with gas money to travel until her first paycheck is received. The mother also needs assistance with making a down payment for the new house in Orlando. The transition to Orlando happened quickly and the mother did not have time to save up any money. Any assistance would be a tremendous help to the mother so that her child can continue to participate in the study and she can be able to travel back home until all of her children can be together

My client, a single mother has opened her arms for her niece after the possibility of her having to enter foster care. She has provided a loving home and we are trying to preserve that for both children residing there. Due to COVID restrictions and the rise in prices, my client is having trouble making rent this month. If she has to leave her home, 2 children could be placed in foster care. Please help if you can, Thank you.

The caregiver/maternal aunt is in need of financial assistance in moving to a new home. She is getting a divorce from her husband and the current residence is under the husband's name. The aunt is caring for her 3 nieces and 1 nephew which were sheltered from their mother. The aunt also has 2 children of her own that will be moving with her. The aunt is attempting to move into a home in Port St. Lucie. The children have been in the care of the aunt since April 2021. The family has been in need of a bigger home to accommodate all of the children. The aunt was able to pay some of the move in fees on her own. She is asking for the remaining $2995 out of the required $5733.68. If the caregiver is not able to make the payment, they will have to either remain in the home with the husband that the aunt is divorcing or go to a shelter. At which time the children will have to be placed in foster care and may have to be separated. The aunt reports that she has looked all over St. Lucie County and there was no where else available that could accommodate her and the children.

This is a family of seven children, but this specific request is for the two babies in the mother’s care. The mother is in need of: -a high chair for feeding -an indoor baby swing She has worked diligently to regain custody of her children and has been consistent with services and the department ever since. She is asking for help in obtaining these baby essentials, and it would be greatly appreciated. It would be preferred if they were new, but gently used items would be okay as well.
