This family is located In Marion. The mother is a single mother with a baby girl due in July. She has a six-year-old son that has behavioral issues that she is struggling to maintain but is getting supports from the department to help her navigate this. She is unable to work due to her son's issues. She is in need of ALL things for a baby girl. Things such as cloths, bottles, crib, stroller, diapers.etc.

This family is located in Smyth County. The grandmother has custody of her Grandkids and has had for 10+years. She had sewer problems, that took a significant amount of money probably close to $700.00 The funds came from her tax return that she was hoping to be able to use for a payment on a handicap van, as one of the children are wheelchair bound. The Grandmother is either looking for a handicap van, or monetary donations to try to get one, to better care for her grandchild.

The department is working with a single father who is in need of two twin mattress and a dryer. The father is working, but does not have the extra money to purchase these items

The department is currently working with a family in the Austinville area who could use assistance with clothing. The family has a 17 year old female who is in need of shirts and pants. The female is in need of size 3x shirts and a size 24 pants.

A family looking for a cooktop stove/oven. The family is looking for reunification but facing the barrier of a broken stove/oven.

Children placed out of the home with a relative in need of clothing for warmer weather, under garments, socks, and shoes. There are 4 children, ages 7, 9, 11, and 13. 7- Female 7/8 clothing; 13Y shoe 9- Male 10/12 clothing; 5 shoe 11- Female 14/16 clothing; OS fits all sports bras; 6.5-7 women's shoe 13- Female Women's s/m clothing; 8 shoes

Gift cards to buy what is needed the most per child would be helpful, but donations appreciated.

The relative that took in the children is in need of washing machine as hers went out a week after taking them in. She is currently having to spend money at the laundromat to wash all of the clothes they do have. She could also use a fold away cot or two for the extra children to sleep on.

We are in need of help for a family which requires a dumpster delivered to the residence. The family needs to work on the cleanliness of the inside and outside of the home due it being consider a hazardous and an unsafe environment for children. If this need is meet for the family, it would help assist in the process of reuniting the children back together with their mother once all the clutter and dangerous objects that are currently a concern are removed.

This family has had no electricity for 10 days. It was turned off because of failure to pay. Social Services has agreed to help get it turned back on; however, the family must come up with $319.00 of the amount owed. Social Services will not help unless the family comes up with this portion. Also, the family lost all their food. They will lose their housing at the end of the month.

Food has been provided for family. Electricity has been turned back on. Eviction notice was given to family yesterday. I believe they have 30 days to move out. Rent owed is approximately $1900.00

A family of 4 is in need of a twin size bed. The family is currently sharing a full size bed. If this need is met, the children and adults will be more rested and better able to focus on school work.

Tazewell County DSS is currently working with a single mother and 3 children. They are in need of 2 beds for the children (2 boys- 1 boy is 4 years old and other boy is in Middle School). There is not ample space for all 3 of them to sleep with the current sleeping arrangements. The family has limited financial resources.

Carroll County DSS is currently working with a father and daughter. The father is a single parent and is the only source of income within the home. Recently, the father has been out of work, resulting in a financial hardship. The father is in the process of seeking other employment due to not having enough work through his current employer. In the meantime, all finances will need to go towards bills within the home. The child's bedroom door broke, and for some time the child has only had a curtain up. Being a teenager, the child is requesting privacy, by having a door on her bedroom. The door measurements are 32in x 80 in. There is no specific color request by the family to meet this need. If this need is met through care portal, it will allow the father to put money towards other needs of the home.

TCDSS is working with a sibling group of 3 children who are in foster care. They were residing with a fictive kin before entering foster care. The fictive kin wishes to become a foster fictive parent but unable at this time due to lack of space. She is in need of a 3-4 bedroom home to rent. We are asking the community if anyone knows of a 3-4 bedroom home that this person could reasonably rent. The children are bonded to this fictive kin and would like to reunify the 3 children as they are currently separated in 2 foster homes. The fictive kin is currently working and will have resources to pay.
