I'm working with a family with 2 children in the home. Mom is disabled and we are working to get SSI or SSDI services set up currently. She has also applied for Aid to the Needy and disabled. All of these programs can sometimes take extensive time to be approved and for benefits to be issued. Mom has a housing voucher so the rent is covered, but the father of the children was previously paying child support which mom was using for their water bill primarily. The father of the children has stopped paying child support and mom has been in contact with the child support division, but their process could take extended time as well. There is one other adult in the home, the oldest son of mom. He has been unable to find steady work as well. Requirements for maintaining housing voucher with Denver Housing Authority include payment of utilities or mom could lose housing. Mom owed $419.01, but case worker and mom called Denver Water together and were able to have late fees removed from the bill bringing it down to $391.84. Any help is greatly appreciated, as I understand this is a large request. Mom understands she will need to set-up a payment plan for any remaining balance. This family has experienced homelessness previously and was very fortunate to get the housing voucher they have. We are hoping to not lose it now. Thank you in advance!

A single mother and her two children recently moved into their first apartment alone. Her children are 9 and 2. The nine-year-old has significant mental health needs and has a seizure disorder. His sister is in need of a bed frame and only has a mattress currently. The mother is requesting a dining table for their kitchen, a toddler size bed frame, two dressers for the children's clothes, and any seating options. There are significant financial barriers due to unemployment and the family does not have transportation.

A single father with three children just received section 8 housing and is in need of some house hold items such as larger items due to not being able to afford to get all for the children a mattress and or bed frame. Father has applied for deposit assistance from our GA program and is willing to wait if this request can be handled. Client receives Tanf but the only income in the household. DHS is currently working with a family that is living in a homeless shelter, and the biological parent is experiencing some health problems. Due to these health problems, she is not able to help take her daughter to and from school every day, and is having her stepfather help out with transportation. Due to the biological parent not being able to work, the family is requesting some financial support to help with gas money. A gas gift card is being requested to help offset the cost of travel every day for school.

Mom was had aa assessment for the family with the ongoing caseworker for DV kids were in the home when The father was in a standoff and he barricaded himself in the home while chidden were present with police children remained the home with Mother she has all 3 three kids in the home with her and Father in this assessment has to live outside of the the home due to other concerned for our involvement . Mother take car of all the children by herself and cannot work as their family dynamics look different with Father out of the home. it was decided that the family would need to baby proof the home. The assessment would close out DHS services and family would get resources for DHS for baby proofing items' needed . One of the children is almost 16 months and can current access areas of the home that are not safe . The case was open due to domestic violence. The children were removed and MOC is working really hard to get them back. MOC does not have any supports in the state, and she is doing everything she can. MOC is a single mother to 3 kids.

A young couple is seeking important baby items as they prepare for the birth of their second child this summer. They are newly settled in the state, and most of their family and support live outside of the country. Though they are excited for this next season with their growing family, they are struggling to collect larger baby items. This mom is not working currently as she stays home with their two-year-old son, and her husband is their primary source of income. She has been very intentional in establishing her regular doctor’s care through this pregnancy and is also actively exploring what supports are available for their growing family. We would love to help to set them up before the birth of their child, so that they can confidently focus on the immediate needs of their two young children. They specifically need a car seat and stroller combination as well as a bassinet. These items would afford them the peace of mind of knowing they can leave the hospital after birth and set their little one up with a comfortable space at home. A dedicated single foster mother is seeking support to help her 13-year-old foster daughter attend a local summer day camp throughout the summer. The child was originally expected to participate in summer school, but due to her unique needs, she did not qualify. With her foster mom working full-time, summer day camp would provide this child with a safe, structured, and enriching environment during the day. Camps in the area cost approximately $500 per week, and the family is hoping to access care for the full summer (approximately 8–10 weeks). This would allow the child to enjoy social connection, fun activities, and consistency—while ensuring the foster parent can maintain employment and stability in the home. Any financial assistance toward covering the cost of one or more weeks would be deeply appreciated. Your support will help ensure this child has a memorable, engaging summer.

A single woman has recently confirmed that she is further along in her pregnancy than she originally thought. She has taken great initiative in establishing prenatal care in the last few weeks after making a brave decision to move forward with her pregnancy. Her initial concerns in delaying care were based on not having medical insurance and feeling overwhelmed by the possibility of high medical bills. She has consistent work, but her income is limited at this point. Though she has connected with her partner and his family and has their support for her next steps, she is focused on gathering larger baby items before her due date in June. She has been consistent in receiving emotional support as she is taking these steps, and we would love to help her to prepare physically for the birth of her little boy this summer. Single mom is asking for assistance with her rent bill. Mom is on a fixed income, she receives disability. The youth reports that mom is his only support and vice versa. This rent and utility assistance will help foster stable housing, hence relieving stress off both the youth and mom, decreasing the likelihood of them being without a home.
