I have a foster child that has been placed with her brother and his fiancé, which is going well so far, but they are in need of some financial assistances with their rent. He is a little behind in rent and would be most appreciative of any contributions in helping him so that our placement stays successful.

I am working with a family that includes the grandfather who is a vet, his daughter and his grandson whom all live in the home. The family lives in a hoarding situation and desperately needs assistance with getting the home clean. Currently the grandfather has a boot on each foot for medical reasons, and the daughter is not mobile and in a hospital bed. The living conditions appear to be getting worse and are unsafe for the child. We are asking for either a team to help clean the home (we do recommend protective wear for this job) or assistance paying for a cleaning service and any recommendations of cleaning services that accommodate this kind of situation. If the home is not clean the child will be at risk of coming into care. The child has a very special bond with his grandfather, and we are working very hard to prevent him from being removed.

We are seeking a toddler bed and mattress to assist a local kinship family in transitioning their toddler out of a pack and play and into her own bed for the first time.

TWIN MATTRESSES | Children ages 2 and 3 in the home. Parents have a bunk bed for the children and are in need of two twin mattresses for the bed.

I am working with a single mother with two children, and she is in need of a window AC unit for the home. If anyone has a used one available, or would be willing to contribute financially to secure this need for the family, it would be greatly appreciated!

The Department is humbly seeking assistance in our extended community for donations to help ease the financial strain during this emotional time. A single mother was unexpectedly laid off and it has left her family with significant financial challenges. As a result of the release, the mother has recently lost her personal property to include her house and vehicle. She is accompanied by her 6 year old daughter. The pair are now considered homeless. With the Department’s support, her child has now been enrolled in school to promote any normalcy during this hardship. With this being said, the mother now has the ability to seek employment while her child is being properly supervised. Nevertheless, her license needs to get reinstated in order for her to transport herself to and from her anticipated occupation. The mother is working on her Master’s Degree and is one step closely on filling her dream, regaining control of her life, and securing a safe haven for her family. The Department is asking or $650.00 in hopes of helping her get there.

A gorgeous litle girl is requesting help in feeling more confident in her clothes and with her self-esteem. She is quickly outgrowing what she currently owns and is trying to get some new pieces. The following are her sizes:

2 - shorts (size 10/12) 4 - tank tops (size 10/12) 2 - dresses (size 10/12) one pair of sneakers with laces - size 4 2 - pajamas, shorts and shirt (size 10/12)

Bedford County - Family of 5 which includes three children. A home visit revealed some significant needs in the home as the family is going through some challenging times and is in need of support/resources. Father is employed at this time, however there is little left for food and other basic items. The school is assisting the family in connecting with local organizations for supports and are taking the necessary steps to receive available assistance. At this point, the school staff is working collaboratively to ensure basic items are gathered and is requesting some gift cards/financial support to be able to obtain the additional needs for the family that haven't been available through the donations.

The Department is currently assisting a family in need of critical home (Doublewide) repairs. Both parents have recently returned to the workforce. The father has started a new job, and the mother has also resumed employment. The home has sustained damage, particularly to the roof above the kitchen, where vultures have been observed picking at the caulking. This has led to water intrusion, resulting in mold growth on the ceiling and visible water damage on one of the walls. Additionally, a section of the kitchen floor is warped. According to the homeowner, repairs are needed including replacement of the ceiling trusses, floor joints, and subflooring. Any form of assistance with this matter, whether through direct support or an initial assessment and estimate, would be greatly appreciated. Photos can be provided if needed. The total estimate listed may not be accurate for the repairs.

Young single mother of two small children. Mom only works a part-time job and limited transportation. Due to transportation limits she does not work many hours. The baby that weights around 16 lbs. needs a bed.

Good morning. I want to start by thanking you all for everything you do for our families. You all are a real-life saver. I am currently working with a family that is doing well now but the child is in need of a computer. He needs a laptop to be able to complete his schoolwork. He currently is in class two days from home three days. But he is getting behind due to the lack of computer. If there is any way you all could assist it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Good afternoon. Thank you for everything that you do for the community and the families that we work with. I am currently working with a family that is doing well and working on reunification. Mom has been doing extremely well and has done amazing with her sobriety. She is in the process of setting up the children's room. Due to the size of the room and needing to fit 3 younger girls a bunk bed is needed. A toddler bed is already in the room for the youngest child, but a complete bunk bed would be best for the other two sisters. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
