The school community closet Warrior Closet gives every kid who visits for back-to-school backpack and school clothes shopping a brand new pair of shoes to start school in. We are preparing for our August 5th opening back. We had 99 kids come through last year for the three-day 6hrs of events. I like to put this out early so people contributing can keep an eye on the sales and when, especially Famous footwear and or Rackroom, do buy one get one 1/2 off bogos on shoes and backpacks. They also put a lot of shoes on clearance that you can buy with the BOGOs too. The kids 11 through size 1 love the character shoes. The 2 and or above ones I would do something they can wear more with everything.

A family is needing help with getting items to help clean their home to improve the welfare of their child. They are needing (100 bags or more) contractor bags, hospital gloves, and water flats (x3).

This family has already had their water shut off due to non-payment. They are very close, 2 weeks at most, to having their Sewer cancelled as well as Gas and Electricity.
There is a mom, Gpa, Adult brother and 3 school age children all living in the home the mother owns.
Fixed income by G-pa, Brother in/out of work, mom has been unemployed until 2 weeks ago due to health issues. She got a good job w/ the city and is in danger of losing it if she gets a utility shut off by the city. Back to square 1.

There are 3 school age children who can not bathe appropriately, wash their clothes effectively and come to school dirty, smelling, its difficult for them to learn due to other children teasing them, itchy skin, all the things.

Community Action Partnership is already maxing out their funds to help catch up on the utility bills and pay to current. Catholic Charities is helping as well.

This family is in desperate need of $755. 92 to pay the sewer bill to current and $133.18 to pay the water to current to keep and turn all back on. With Mom's income continuing, she feels confident they can catch back up and get back on their feet.

Older youth is moving into his first apartment on 5/15 and is set to age out of care on 6/19. Agency is working on gathering furniture and resources he will need to support him in his new apartment and set him up for success before he ages out of care. Area programs for beds have a waitlist. Youth is in need of a bedframe and mattress.

A family with two hard sleepers is hoping to get two shaker alarms so they wake up easier in the mornings. This will allow the individuals to get to school and work on time. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your consideration!

We have recently placed a toddler and infant in the home with their mother. The family does not have a washing machine. The washing machine would help the family as small children can create a lot of laundry. The family resides in an upper apartment and it is difficult to bring all the laundry to a laundry mat while having two young children to care for.

Mom is in need of a new carpet and some new furniture. Mom has tried to clean up the carpet, but every time she attempts to clean it, it still get messy. Mom is wanting to get rid of it entirely, but doesn't have the funds. Mom also lacks some furniture in the home and could use help getting a couch or two.

The parent of a homeless student (doubled up due to financial crisis) reached out to me because her student made the dance team for next season but she is having a hard time covering the costs of the required camp the team attends. The total cost is $350, mom informed me she is able to cover half of the cost but is needing assistance covering the remaining $175. The team is having a parent meeting this Wednesday and this is when the camp dues are to be paid. This is a hard working student that has great attendance and good grades despite the tough situation she has going on a home. Assisting this family will allow student to enjoy an extra curricular that she has worked hard for and one that she truly has a passion for.

A single mother of four is needing help with a few things as she is going through a tough time with kids medical issues, buying a new washer, etc. Her older kids have went through a growth spirt over winter and have nothing for these warmer months. She is also in need for a some hygiene/household products. Details listed below. oldest son needs shirts, shorts, socks: wears size mens medium, neutral colors daughter needs shorts, shirts, anything for the summer, dresses etc: shes putting her in womens large or womens size 8, girly not picky middle son: shorts, shirts: wears size boys 6, 6/7 Family needs: body wash, shampoo/conditioner (anything but suave or V05), baby Aveeno wash, liquid laundry soap

Single mom in Cameron is reunifying with her children. She is in need of two twin mattresses.

This family is in genuine need of support. The mother is a single parent who does not receive any child support, and she relies solely on a limited disability income to provide for her household. With ongoing financial strain and other pressing household expenses, meeting even the most basic needs can be a challenge. Assistance at this time would make a meaningful difference. In particular, having a reliable place to store essentials like milk, eggs, and other perishable items would directly support the family’s nutritional needs and promote the healthy growth and development of the student.

The family have worked with us for 2 months. The family are in FCS. The mother and 3 kids under 5 (1 is the newborn sister, are fleeing a DV home) there is a need to get help with formula and a couple things for the baby, as Mom was living with father of the baby and he was abusive.

They live with a family member, but that family member / household care for a brother who has around the clock nursing in the home. He is nonverbal and they need resources to be able to stay safely here, but for her to be able to feed and diaper the baby until her SNAP benefits are reinstated. Formula Similac Gent Elease and diapers are immediately needed for baby. The person Mom is fleeing from kept her SNAP card and Debit card and stole all her personal belongings. The family they live with till allow them refuge, which is safe, but she had to leave behind everything to get to safe places. She needs a stroller, a swing, a bed for MOM & Diapers and formula to get started. We are working on also getting beds for her boys who are 3 and 5. She is on a pull-out couch, and she needs a bed badly.
