Help Strengthen a Bio Family
Thanks to a generous donation from the University of Florida, we now have 80 twin bed frames ready to bless families in need across Marion County! We’re launching a MATTRESS & BEDDING DRIVE to make sure each child receives not just a bed frame, but a complete set for a safe and comfortable night’s sleep. So far, 42 families have already expressed the need. Many of these children are currently sleeping on couches, air mattresses, or even the floor. Let’s give children a bed where they can lie down and sleep in peace. In some cases, providing a bed is the final step needed for a child to return home to their family. This simple gift can open the door to reunification and healing. We’re starting with 42 beds, knowing that more requests are coming in each day. You can help by sponsoring: • An 8-inch twin mattress for $70 • A comforter set (sheets, pillow, blanket) for $50

Relative caregiver is Maternal Great Grandmother to 1 1/2 year old boy. Child was recently placed as a result of a DCFS investigation alleging physical abuse to 2 month old siblings (twins) by parents. Due to expediency of emergency placement, the caregiver was not adequately equipped and is found in need of a dresser to store child's clothing.

Help Improve a Child's Safety/Wellbeing
Grandparents are currently taking care of their grandson who is going to turn 3 years old in August. Both of his parents are currently incarcerated. They are living in an RV, yesterday the electricity went out in the RV. They are also behind on rent. (we are working on getting landlord information and more details and will add as a need later). The grandson currently does not have any diapers and the grandma is using her own depends for him. He wears a size 10 kids size shoes, 4T clothes, size 7 diapers. 3-4 T pull-ups.
The family does not have a working phone. They are open to things being dropped off at their address. Transportation is CART at this time due to lack of gas money and needing to use funds for other things.
The biggest concern is that the family is currently without electricity and no food storage because of this. We are going to find out the reason they do not have electricity and will request assistance for these things once we know more, but we wanted to at least get the request out for the physical items for the child listed above ASAP. UPDATE: Power has been reinstated. Family needs help catching up on their rent. They own 600 for last month and 600 for this month. Churches will need to pay landlord directly and information will be given to churches upon their claim for the need.

Help Improve a Child's Safety/Wellbeing
Current Emergency Response Social Worker met with the family and found mother and child recently arrived in the US and began living with strangers who took them in off the streets. The environment with this new family was not helpful for child’s fragile mental health, as she was already experienced sexual abuse and physical abuse and witnessed severe domestic violence between mother and father. Over the course of the week, mother was able to rent a new room in LA 90001 to help alleviate some stress and anxiety for her child. Mother is in need of a small/slim refrigerator for food storage. Help Preserve a Kinship Placement
A aunt and uncle took emergency placement of their 15 year old niece, 15 year old nephew and 6 year old nephew. Aunt and Uncle also have two children of their own. The family had to move unexpectedly and are now in a new apartment and in need of some furniture. They could benefit from three dressers so the children do not have to keep their clothes in bags. With 7 people in the 3 bedroom apartment, space is limited. The older two just celebrated birthdays in June and aunt and uncle did not budget to have to move and purchase new furniture. If this need is met the children will be able to have a place to put their items.

Help Improve a Child's Wellbeing
A 16-year-old young man is currently navigating one of the most difficult times of his life. For the first time, he has entered a residential treatment facility to receive intensive mental health support. This transition comes after a series of overwhelming events, including hospitalization and placement into foster care. This journey that has left him with nothing but the clothes on his back. He has lost all of his personal clothing during the moves, and now, at a time when he needs stability and dignity the most, he has no clothes of his own. A few changes of clean clothes, socks, underwear, and a hoodie can go a long way toward helping him feel human again. Having his own clothing would restore a sense of identity and normalcy while he works to heal. This young man is working hard to manage his emotions, participate in therapy, and imagine a better future. Community support in the form of clothing would not only meet a practical need, but also send a powerful message: you are not alone, and you are worth showing up for. If this need is met, it could make a big difference in his recovery journey. Something as basic as new clothing can provide comfort, confidence, and a feeling of being seen.

Mom is currently transient but has been very communicative with her team with the available resources she has. She is engaging as much as possible. Unfortunately, she needs help keeping her phone turned on so she can speak directly with her team and coordinate family time and services. She needs service to be successful with working towards reunification with her 4 month old son. A phone card would be incredibly helpful and so appreciated. Thank you for your generosity!
