Normal Request
This family has been working for the last 6 months to find a new apartment. They finally secured a new apartment. YAY. However, due to having to pay an initial deposit, first months rent and last months rent, they are now struggling with obtaining household items. The family reports needing help with providing their children items to help with day to day functioning: food, diapers, clothing, cleaning product, dishes, silverware, etc. The family consists of 7 household members. 4 out of the 5 kids have successfully transitioned home and have been reunified with their parents. The Department continues to monitor the overall well-being of these 4 children. The reasons the children came into custody was due to a lack of clean living environment and enough food in the home. In order to continue having the children remain with their family safely, they are needing support with the items. ANY assistance with these items would beneficial. The family reports a Walmart Gift Card would be sufficient.

Critical Request
We have a youth in our independent living program at a placement who needs assistance with caring for her son who is 1 years old. The youth was in a ILP program that closed and did not receive her deposit that was supposed to reimburse her prior to closing. This caused a hardship for the mother and she needed to purchase items for the 1 y/o such as clothing, diapers, etc. The youth also got behind on expenses such as her car note and car insurance. We are trying to request a $300 visa gift card to help the youth recover from hardship.

The family has a MasterCool AC unit that takes the largest pads in a 6500 CFM and are needing A/C pads. 2 of my sweet kids will be moving to their maternal uncle and his wife soon. The Uncle is coming home from the military with absolutely no baby/toddler items, as they do not have children of their own. The family has stepped up to take on 2 children who have been exposed to multiple drugs and domestic violence while in their parents care. These children are on their 3rd foster home and hoping this kinship will be their forever home. These kids have been through so much at such a young age and do not deserve to be bounced around house to house. Uncle and his wife will need the essentials for the children as soon as they come home. They need help with a double stroller, 2 car seat , 2 mattresses. I have pictures that I can send to help out, from Amazon. Anything is helpful for this sweet family.

We have a single woman who has taken in two young children who had nothing with them. She is struggling to meet their needs and is working on becoming a licensed foster home so she can start receiving funds and additional resources for them. She is currently struggling with being able to do laundry due to not having a washer and dryer and leaving to do laundry is cutting in to the time she is able to spend working and is adding to the amount of stress the caregiver has. We are asking for a washer and dryer for this family so that our caregiver is able to have one less thing to stress about every week on a very tight budget and with little help.

Who needs help? The Department is working with a single adoptive father of four children, ages 11, 13, 14, and 17 who were residing on a family member's property in a camper. Adoptive father receives retirement money but did not account for the extra expenses that have risen due to the fire damage. What do they need? Adoptive father could use assistance in $200 in order to pay for his 17 y/o child's missing retainer through Arango Ortho and approximately $455 for 30 Yard dumpster rental to remove fire debris from the property. Single mother and daughter working on their relationship. Mother has trust issues working with DCCCA. Mother recovered from severe COVID recently and income has not been stable due to side effects of covid. Mother lost her job after being sick due to mental health of teen daughter. Mother recently started a new job and has missed a lot due to severe health issues. As a result mother has not been able to provide for home. DCCCA is looking for a donor willing to pay for daughters apple IPAD repair @ I Break U Fix. The daughter's birthday was a couple weeks ago and due to health issues and finances mother was unable to do anything for her. Having this IPAD repair bill paid would be a blessing and gift to both mother and daughter. The IPAD charging port was replaced and is ready for pickup when payment is made. This mother has had a lot of trust issues working with DCCCA and assistance with this would allow mother to know she is making good choices in taking care of her health. Mother has a lot of anxiety about not working and paying bills as she has never been behind or late on bills. As a result, she tends to focus on these things vs. her and daughter's health concerns.
