WPS support employee and her Senior son lost their home 2 weeks ago in a fire. They lost everything! WPS has rallied to lend $$$ support that has enabled them to seek a rental - while working on things with their homeowners insurance. They got notice today that the rental is available tomorrow - May 10!!!!!

In visiting with mom and son last week about Care Portal specifically the mom began to cry tears of joy! I was not sure they would reach out for support - as they are so proud and very hard working. BUT they did!!!

A child is in urgent need for an inhaler and mom's insurance won't cover the cost. It's $50 to pay for the inhaler out of pocket.

Please help an expecting mother who is about to give birth at the end of this month (May 2025) to obtain a travel system stroller and car seat combo. The client and her family are struggling financially, as they are currently unemployed.

Please help a single mother who is currently experiencing some financial hardships. She is requesting a baby jumper to assist with child's gross motor developmental skills. Client does not have extra financial means to purchase one on her own.

Foster mom has anywhere between 3 and 5 teenagers in her home at any given time. She works will all of her placements on independent living skills to include helping them get jobs and extra curriculars. Currently she has a 13 year old and 16 year old girl that would really benefit from bikes. The 16 year old is currently walking about a mile each way for work and a bike would significantly help in maintain this job. Additionally, the 16 year old helps watch the 13 year old over school breaks so a bike for each girl would be used during this time. Their foster mom has paid for them to have a gym membership that is within biking distance but she is not always available to transport them. Thank you!

Youth is working on their independent living skills and is needing a bike so that he can get to and from his summer job. This bike would also improve this child's life by providing transportation to the gym while his kinship providers are at work.

A single mother of two girls 15yo and 7yo, has just recently lost her job, unexpectedly. Mom has no family that is able to help with covering bills. Moms car has recently broken down so she is having difficulty with transportation. She lives in section 8 housing and needs help paying water bill and rent payment. Mom has recently received a job offer and will start work soon. Mom and her family would greatly benefit from help bridging the gap between employment. Thank you for your consideration.

Family is in need of help in the form of a grocery store gift card who is in great need and well deserving! Here is their story: A cousin has been caring for 3 kids on our case, ages 8, 9, and 16. This cousin is also very young, but she has been doing an amazing job caring for these kids for quite some time now. She makes sure they attend school and also monitors the 16-year old's newly diagnosed diabetes. The last few months have been very stressful and difficult, and any help would be greatly appreciated by the family.

A single mother who recently moved into a new apartment and just found out she is pregnant is in urgent need of support. She is starting over with very limited resources and is currently unable to work while trying to secure daycare for her three daughters. Her children include a toddler (24 months, wears size 24-month clothing), a preschool-aged daughter (wears size 4T-5T clothing and size 5 shoes), and a school-aged daughter (wears size 7/8 clothing and size 12 shoes). The family is in need of essential items including pull-ups (size 4-5), diapers (size 4), wipes, a bassinet, car seat, walker, toddler cups, and baby bottles. The mother is also in need of clothing (t-shirts size small, pants size medium, shoe size 8/8.5). Household and furniture needs include a sectional couch, table and chairs, vacuum, cleaning supplies, towels, rags, laundry detergent, dish soap, two twin-size bedding and comforter sets, a queen comforter set, and window curtains. Meeting this need would greatly support this family as they work to build a safe, clean, and stable home.

Two children are placed here with relative from Indiana. The family recently lost their car. The children go to school out of district due to School Choice program. The relative has no way to get the children to school without a car. She has a rental car through tomorrow, but can't afford it after that. We are requesting transportation assistance to help these kids get to and from school until the end of the school year. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I'm not sure what to put for exact need. They need a vehicle but can't afford one right now. But the main issue is getting the kids to and from school.

Dallas County Permanency Court Judge Gonzales has 15 youth who have never been adopted graduating from high school this year. Some are going to college, some are staying in extended care, and some are going into the work force. We would like to provide each of them with “Launch Baskets” to support them as they enter adulthood without family supports. Each launch basket will be tailored to each youth’s specific situation and preferences and will include a Bible and items such as new bedding, kitchen and cleaning supplies, and gift cards. A single mother with 3 children will give birth to her 4th child in two weeks. This young woman has very little relational support in her life at this time and no family. Because her youngest child is well out of his baby years, this mama does not have many baby supplies and is still in need of a travel system. Having this larger cost item covered would allow her to transport the baby safely to appointments and outings, as well as allow her sparse income to go towards essentials like rent and groceries, ensuring she doesn't have to choose between feeding or housing her family.
