I am reaching out on behalf of a family where the father was diagnosed with a serious medical condition that has left him without mobility. With limited options for childcare, the mother has had to bring their keiki with her to work using the public bus. However, with all that is happening with the father’s health, keiki has been displaying behavioral changes. Because of this, the mother was asked to take time off of work to tend to her family’s needs resulting in heavy financial and emotional strain. Tasks that were once routine—grocery shopping, running errands, or enjoying time together outside the home—have now become complicated or impossible. In light of these challenges, we are kindly seeking to help ease some of their burdens in the form of gift cards for food and grocery delivery services as the father isn’t able to physically leave home and the mother does not know how to drive. She no longer has access to a licensed driver or a reliable car to continue her learning due to limited access to familial support. The use of these gift cards to allow this family to purchase basic essentials online and then have everything delivered to their front door thus easing both the financial and physical demands that comes with the needed task of grocery shopping.

Dad is working with the case manager at the shelter to try and find a job, but is needing help with the transportation to and from. Asking for support with a bus pass for this family to help get on the path towards more stable employment and housing.
