This kinship caregiver is a single grandmother. She and two of the kids have some health issues that is making this a high need request. The family has been having issues with mice in the home! The kids are scared and the grandmother is worried about the kids and her getting sick from the droppings. They have tried putting out their own traps and are not having success. The grandmother contacted an exterminator for a quote for them to come and help. This grandmother struggles to make ends meet as is, so this kind of expense is not possible for her.
emergency placement and kinship providers don't have anything for this infant

This is a family who has been going through a lot recently. The child has recently lost a friend through a shooting and it has affected his mental health and school attendance. Mom is currently going to school to have a better job to provide for her children. The family is currently experiencing homelessness and staying with her sister in an apartment that does not allow other people to stay. Mom has an interview this Wednesday in hopes to get a job and sustain the apartment she is trying to get.

This family moved to the states from Peru less than two months ago. They have no beds/bedding to sleep on. The family has an apartment but will sleep on the hard wood floors. Since they just moved here, they are still adjusting to their new lifestyle. Mom and grandma are both working however they are not able to save much money as they are needing to spend their money on necessities such as food and transportation to work. This family is still learning about the resources that are available to help them with this transition however they are in desperate need of beds to sleep on. There is a young 3 year old in the home and I hope that this request could lead to at least one bed for her to sleep in. The family has a kitchen table and chairs but any other furniture that may need a home, I am sure the family would greatly appreciate. Thank you for your consideration!

The family recently moved from Texas to Colorado and they do not have a support system currently. Mother needs some support as she is been filling out paperwork to help her son get into different programs like Developmental pathways, to support him. He has a social-emotional disability and has ADHD. He also has a speech language disability. His mother is overwhelmed and is alone with him often. She is trying to fill out forms required for the programs, however, she needs some support with a computer as well as a printer if possible. She's working hard to make sure her son is getting the appropriate supports.

Our client is the main caregiver for her three grandchildren since her daughter has became homeless she has been caring for the kids. Grandma does not have a job she is receiving social security but that's only enough to pay for her rent, she cannot afford a crib for her new born granddaughter. To ensure safe sleeping for the baby it would really help this family if they had a crib.

I am working with a kin-family who is working towards adoption of their two grandsons. They have placement of a 1.5 year old and a 5 year old.
They recently got the 5 y/o a new bed, but it only came with a mattress and a frame. Because there is no box spring, there is a gap between the headboard and mattress which results in his pillow falling down. The family is requesting a box spring for a twin bed. It does not need to be anything fancy!

Hello! I have a 16 year old male that has been struggling to get to school and has diabetes. The teen has an extensive history of trauma, as his dad passed away of alcoholism and his mother is currently homeless and struggling with substance abuse. The teen is currently living with a family friend that took him in to avoid possible foster care placement, and also has children of her own. The teen has been saving money to get a car for reliable transportation to school, and needs $200 more dollars to purchase the car. If he were to walk to school, it would take him about an hour, and this poses a risk for him passing out due to his diabetes. His caregiver leaves early in the morning for work, and is unable to drive him to school. The teen is wanting to get back on track with his academics and be the first one in his family to graduate from high school. We would greatly appreciate the remaining $200 for the teen to be able to purchase a car to get to school. Thank you!!

The Denver Department of Human Services' annual #BeAGiver Holiday Gift Drive is launching Nov 1 and will go through Dec 9! We are seeking holiday gifts to support families and children in need served across the agency, predominantly in Child Protection, Foster Care or in emergency situations like homelessness. These children and families face great hardship at their time of service and often feel isolation around the holidays, it means a great deal for them to receive support from their community and to know their neighbors have their back in times of crisis. We thank you in advance for any consideration to contribute to their holiday! The kinds of holiday gifts we hope to collect include: Scarf/hat/gloves, Perfume, Music devices and accessories, Action figures, Blankets, Stuffed animals, Small handheld toys/rattles/blocks, Teething toys, Play mat, Small board books, Clothes, Gift cards (any), Jewelry, Books/journals/calendars, Pajamas/slippers/socks, Nail polish and accessories, Hair tools, Bronco’s items, Legos, Super Hero’s Cars/trucks, Educational toys, Pretend play toys, Dolls & accessories, Arts & Crafts, Books, Board games/puzzles, Sports balls, Transformers, Disney toys, Remote control toys

A single mom is expecting her second child - a baby girl - to be born in December and she is currently raising her son. The client is accessing as much support as she can from a mom's support group, her own grandma and sister, and social services. This mom is working hard with a job in retail and is applying for a second job, but they will not hire her until after the baby has arrived. This mom's car was recently stolen which has added barriers to getting to doctor's appointments and work. After all this mom's efforts to support her family, she is asking for additional help to get a couple of the necessary items she will need for her daughter. She will need a car seat to safely travel with her newborn and this will be a needed item to leave the hospital after giving birth. She is also asking for a pack-n-play as she is looking ahead to the logistics of caring for both her son and daughter together. We ask for new items. If the items are gently used, please be prepared to email photos for the mom's approval. Thank you for your support to this family! Infant Car Seat: Pack-N-Play:

The child 's mother unexpectedly passed away a few weeks ago. The child was living with her mother and thriving after she was removed from her other mother's care. This has impacted the child greatly and she is experiencing a lot of grief and loss. She is now living with her mother's best friend and her family. The child does need some new clothes given she has outgrown some of her winter clothing last year. This worker is hoping that the child can have a gift card and be able to go shopping and pick out some new clothes for herself.
