Paternal great aunt took in the children to ensure they were not removed and put in foster care. The baby was born positive for cocaine. Aunt is needing basic necessities met for the children in order to ensure that the children are comfortable in her home. The baby doesn't sleep very much and is up all night. The baby has a lot of energy and loves to be bounced around. He would benefit from a jumper to help him get tired and have a better sleep pattern.
Mom is a single mother of 5 children ranging from 4 months to 13 years of age. Mom is currently looking for a job but needs to wait for transportation to be in place. Her ex-boyfriend broke her couch as well as other things in the home before leaving with money she had saved for a vehicle.
Family consists of two adults and two children. There is one male child (9) and one female child (6). The mother and father are trying to leave a toxic living environment. They have been approved for an apartment but are needing help with the first month's rent, as they used their funds for the deposit.
This family of four has just moved to Texas, and are in need of some furniture and appliances. They do not have any living room furniture, and do not have a washer or dryer. The parent also does not have transportation, which makes it difficult to get the students' clothes washed. Because of this, the students sometimes have inconsistent attendance as well. The washer and dryer would allow them to have clean clothing to consistently come to school in. They do not have any family members in the area, or much of a support system here in Texas yet. Any support you can give to this family would be greatly appreciated.
I have a young mother of two young children who could really use help making her home safe for her children. She could really use a baby gate, a door alarm, knob covers, and a portable heater that is safe and appropriate for young children to be around.
The family consists of a single mother, who just lost her job and her four children. They are behind on their utility bills. We have the electric bill covered, but we need help with the gas bill. She has paid everything down on the gas bill to approximately $230.
This family is in need of support as there are 3 teenagers being raised by a single mother since their father passed away. She works hard to care for her children and herself but she is stretched thin as one of her children has been acting out since losing his father and requires a lot of her attention to manage his behaviors and mental health needs. I would like to make things easier on this family so they can expend energy, finances, and time to other needed things.
Kinship caregiver is needing assistance, child (13 yo) is afraid of the dark and is needing battery operated night lights, and video baby monitor. When this need is met the child can feel more secure and feel safe.
Grandmother reached out to the campus recently with concerns for her granddaughter wellbeing. Grandmother has taken over guardianship, but this has caused a major strain to the finances. Grandmother states she is behind on rent and currently has no food, with light and water bill pending. Grandmother is very concerned student will stop attending school as she is also trying to work with her regarding the abrupt departure of her biological mother, she feels bad to have to ask, but does not see any other options to keep a roof over their heads and some hot food on the table, Grandmother is also asking for prayer as this has been a very difficult month and its holiday time, thank you for your support.
It is a family of 7 with 5 children (11 years old girl, 10 years old boy, 9 years old girl, and 7-year-old twins, a boy and a girl). All of the children are in needs of beds. The family recently moved apartments and had to throw away all of the furniture away due to a roach infestation. The family did not want to move the insects from one home to the other and they thought the best course of action would be to throw everything away and start over. Anything would be helpful to the family and help ease the burden.
This family consists of a great grandmother who is on oxygen and mostly bed bound, and two grandmothers who are raising 4 children, ages 7-13 one with special needs who has limited verbal skills. The family lost the Great Grandfather in 2018 and has been struggling with grief, and cleaning out of his room which became infested with bed bugs and is now impacting the health and well being of the children and the family. The services requested will be able to chemically treat the home, heat treat the home and existing mattresses and provide mattress covers plus provide a year of warranty to make sure the pests are completely gone. We obtained 3 quotes for extermination services and the agency providing the services was the most affordable with the best coverage. The grandmother recently obtained a new job and is working hard to provide what she can for the family.
Grandmother is caring for 1 y/o (F), 2 y/o (M), and 9 y/o (F). The 1 y/o is needing a crib, and the 2 y/o is needing a toddler bed for appropriate sleeping arrangements. This would allow for the children to have safe sleeping arrangements. The children are also needing appropriate car seat safety, as they currently do not have any. This will reduce the risk of serious injury and death in the event of a car accident.
An aunt and uncle took in their triplet nieces and nephew to their home upon their release from the hospital after their birth. The babies are now 7 months old and are in the process of transitioning to their cribs. The caregivers are requesting assistance with crib mattresses and crib sheets for the babies. The family has had a lot of expenses in caring for the babies and are requesting help with the cost of crib mattresses and sheets. The donation of crib mattresses will allow the caregivers to continue to meet the other needs of the babies. The caregivers are in the process of getting licensed with their hopes of adopting the babies.
This 6-person family does the best they can on under $50,000 annual income. They are working on moving out of their current apartment which is in bad condition. During a storm, there was a bad leak which caused water damage in one of the bedrooms which destroyed the beds in the room. They had to throw the beds out and are currently sharing 2 mattresses for all members of the family. They do not want to replace the beds until they move but would like help with some air mattresses to improve the quality of life for their children until they move and can save money for beds.
This family has been working very hard to move into a nicer area for their children to have a safer environment and better quality of life, but they had very little time to move once they were approved for a new apartment and they ran out of time and had to leave some beds behind. Currently they have one mattress/box spring for the two boys to share, while mom and the two girls are sleeping on the floor. They planned to buy beds but then would have no money for Christmas. This is a very close, loving family, and their parents work a very strict schedule that allows them very little flexibility. They always make time for their family and provide what the children need even though they are strapped for time and money. I would love to provide help with beds for this family so they can have a nice holiday together.
Single Mother of 3 children. The children's father is deceased and so Mother is on her own. Mother is a great advocate for her children. Due to family issues her adoptive parents kicked her out. She has a cognitive disorder and is mentally not on an 18 year old level. She has slept in abandoned cars, under highways, in condemned buildings and more. Some of her teachers have given her clean clothes so she is not embarrassed at school. The mother has several children with behavior issues, and she is looking for support to help her son, get him active in hopes to address his behavior.
The family has a history with the Department, the home is not clean and appropriate for the young children in the home. The home needs a deep clean.
The brother is sexually acting out, being inappropriate towards his siblings, the mother works from home, the child broke her cameras, and she needs assistance replacing the cameras so she can monitor the children to prevent abuse in the home.
I have a wonderful sixteen-year-old girl that has been in care for one year. She finally has the opportunity to be placed with a family member instead of in a foster home. She was placed last Friday, and she looked so happy to be there. The family member was ready for her with her own room. However, when she went to get the queen size bed out of storage, it had been destroyed by the elements. The family member is a single person that would have to save up for many months to afford to pay for a new one. Right now, the sixteen-year-old is sleeping in the family member's bed and the family member is sleeping on the couch. This is not a long-term solution. We are requesting a new or used Queen size bed for a growing teenager. Thank you for your help in maintaining this family connection.

Laura, thank you so much for your generosity to meet this need! Would you want to be involved in getting the bed to the recipient or have someone else handle that portion?
