The youth has been involved in a Dependency and Neglect case since 2021 with his five siblings. Through all the ups and downs the past three years in the case, the youth has maintained a positive attitude. Recently, the youth reported he understands that he can do anything he sets his mind to. He can play instruments. Become a car mechanic, do whatever he wants to work at. The youth reports, the Winter Sports Camp is the next activity this youth wishes to explore, and your donation will support his desire to discover all that he can do.

A mother has worked hard to maintain employment and to secure independent housing. As a result of her hard work and progress, she has recently been reunified with her two sons. They have a two-apartment and need some assistance with gathering items the boys need. The most important thing the family needs at this time is bunk beds with mattresses for the boys. The boys are middle-school age, so the preference would be to have a full-bed over full-bed bunk bed set, if possible. This mother is very eager to gather items the boys need for their new house to become a home for all three of them. Having beds and being able to have adequate sleep is essential for the boys’ continued growth and development. They deserve to have a home and a bedroom that meets their basic needs and is comfortable and inviting. This mother has worked very hard to have a place to call their own and needs a little help!

We have a youth that has been separated from his family for over a year. He seems to struggle with peer relationships and overall self-esteem. The CASA has been spending intentional time with the youth to discover strengths and interests. The youth would like to continue piano lessons and we were able to secure a month of lessons, however we are unable to continue lessons for another month. This has been tremendously impactful and engaging for the youth and has truly been the one thing he has taken to for some time.

This family recently moved to Colorado. The mother has been in an abusive relationship for the past five years with her current husband who is the stepfather to the children. The stepfather strangled the mother last Saturday and ever since this incident she has been trying to call places for support and resources. The mother was able to get a protection order against the stepfather on Thursday and has been trying to serve him with the papers since. On Thursday night the mother and three children stayed at a hotel to avoid seeing him until the protection order was served. While they were staying at the hotel the stepfather threw away all of the boy's clothes and ruined some of the mothers clothes as well. They are in need of support of getting new clothing. If you are not able to fulfill the full amount but are able to help with some of that anything is appreciated!

CASA Thanksgiving Drive! Thanks to the kindness and generosity of our valued community partners, Advocates for Children CASA has been able to provide the hundreds of children and families we work alongside with Thanksgiving Meal Baskets. This year, our organization is hoping to collaborate with CarePortal and the network of churches to help feed our families. Our mission is to improve the lives of children and youth who have experienced abuse, neglect, or other life challenges, by connecting them with volunteer advocates and activating community partnerships. I am working with three children (13, 6, and 4) who are placed with their maternal grandparents who plan to adopt them in the near future.
The 13 y/o is in eighth grade and his school is going on a class trip in May of 2024 to Washington D.C. and New York. My kiddo has never expressed interest in much and he is often shut down and does not like engaging in activities like this, but he has expressed a high interest in going on this class trip. He lost his mother to an overdose about three months ago, so all of us are very excited to see him coming out of his shell a bit more since this difficult loss. The cost is about $2000 and the family understands the cost is a lot and will make whatever payments they need. Any assistance in funding this trip would be appreciated by myself and the family! I put $50 in the needs box, but any amount is appreciated.

I am working with two boys (16 mo. and 5 years) who are placed with their grandparents. Their grandparents recently moved into a new home and are looking for some assistance with furniture. Right now, grandmother does not work as she quit her job to stay at home with the kids. I am seeking any assistance with furniture items to help them out to avoid additional costs.

I am working with a mom and dad of a 8 mo. old baby. Dad has been without a cell phone for the duration of this case which has caused a lot of barriers to being in compliance with treatment and with communication. He has attempted to get the one he has fixed, but this has not worked. He is also unable to work at this time due to not having a copy of his birth certificate (which has to be requested from Puerto Rico). To assist with the cost of this phone/service and help him with case compliance, I am requesting a cell phone and about a months' worth of service. The phone does not need to be fancy, just enough to help him email and call people. Walmart offers pre-paid phones and Verizon unlimited talk/text gift cards (about $40).

I am working with a mother of a three-year old. Mom is single and working full time to make ends meet. She recently dropped her phone which caused the screen to shatter. She needs her phone to communicate with professionals and to know about important dates related to this case. To get the screen replaced will cost her about $200, which she does not have right now. I am asking for a replacement phone so that she can be compliant with her case requirements and to avoid costing her too much money at this time. The phone does not need to be fancy, just something she can check emails, make calls, and send texts on!

Biomother endured a very serious domestic violence incident recently and is a bit behind financially. Biomother has 5 children who are very lovely. Biomother could use some additional support this month with food. This could be in the form of a King Soopers or Walmart gift card or she is willing to send a grocery list to a donner.

A kinship caregiver took two young children into their home. With fall and winter approaching, the kids are in need of winter coats and winter clothing size 5T, snow boots size 11, hats and gloves. There is one male and one female so both gender items are needed. The female could also use some winter pajamas, size 5T. Purchasing of items or gift cards so the children can pick some of these items for themselves would be ideal.

I just googled Honest Brand and Target carries them. Therefore we would offer $300 in Target Gift Cards if that was acceptable. Please let me know if this is satisfactory. Castle Oaks Covenant Church; Rick Palm
Family of 6 needs help getting car seats for young children. Father of children works full time and mom is staying home with younger children until she can find affordable childcare. They are living on a very tight budget and can't afford to buy car seats that fit their children better as they have grown out of the ones they have. They need a booster seat and a toddler car seat.

We are working with a family that has a 14-year-old girl who we got involved with about a year ago due to neglect while living with her adoptive mother. While we were involved, we were able to track down her birth mother who hadn't seen her daughter in ten years and was able to take her daughter back, which the young girl is incredibly happy about. The daughter does have some socioemotional issues and can become escalated behind closed doors. We want to provide an outlet at home and a hobby that she has been interested in participating in. We are hoping to provide a boxing bag and some gloves for her to utilize during these moments and overall, for her mental and physical health. If you are willing to provide, I will direct you to the right bag and gloves on Amazon. Thank you so much!

Single Kin provider's car broke down and she needs assistance with repairs. It is a 2012 GMC terrain, it needs a new engine. She said it has an extended warranty, but she is having trouble getting the warranty fully honored. Children can build resiliency and overcome obstacles when they have moments of highly engaging and motivating materials within reach. Learning/building toys such as Legos, K'NEX, magnetic tiles, STEM building toys/blocks, Monilon Magnet Sticks add to environments that foster curiosity which can then lead to strengthening confidence (a foundational component in learning). Those skills will be noticed. Adults naturally provide positive feedback to children while at play and those attributes can be relayed later when a child is applying themselves in a more challenging moment like meeting a new friend or sustaining effort during an academic task, like writing.
Special Instructions:
New or used children's building toys can be dropped off at Soaring Hawk Elementary from 8:00-4:00.

Hello!
I have a single mother that is really struggling financially despite her being employed. She feels that everything is piling up on her and she overwhelmed with meeting her financial obligations while caring for her two teen children. I currently have an open request for car repairs on her vehicle that is in high need of repairs. Mom is still driving it as she doesn't have another option and would like help with a gas card to be able to go to work and take the children to school when the bus isn't running. The family would greatly appreciate the help. Thank you!

19 year old youth is living on her own and in college. She is not working at this time. She recently broke her phone and could use assistance to get another one. This youth does not have any contact with parents. Youth uses her phone to obtain bus schedules and order Uber, so her phone is extremely helpful. She has AT&T service, so if someone has an old phone, could get her a phone or provide a gift card to get one. Thank you,
