Family recently moved away from their church friends and family to a new home that offers more space for our fostering journey. We hope to add a play set and outdoor things for kids to enjoy on the few acres we have now. We also hope to be able to extend support to foster families in the southeast ks area similar to what we were so blessed with. We have started an intervention program , the first in the area. We are so excited to help the community here but miss everyone we moved away from. (foster parent, 3 kids)
The family of two, has a mother who uses her vehicle for work to make deliveries , and this is her only form of transportation . The vehicle due to lack of an oil change is dragging and the mother does not want to drive it further until she can afford an oil change but she needs the vehicle to make money to get the oil change. Asking donor to please assist with getting this vehicle an oil change so this mother can continue to support her daughter .If possible she does need to replace two tires in the front. The used tires estimate for two /150.00 the Oil change for Dodge Truck 100.00 if you know a better price that will be great, thank you.
UPDATE:( Family has received 2000.00 towards rent ) so awesome yes Lord. God is so good so good ' We serve a big God and this is a big request. So lets see what happens. Single mom undocumented dad has been charged with sex crimes against step daughter. Dad was the only income so the family has been relying on churches to pay bills for 8 months While the family's rent although through dads brother has remained unpaid. There was false promises made by KERA to help they never did. Also false promises by other agency's that have left mom kids and landlord uncle in a financial crisis. He told me last night mom is behind 14,000.00 in rent. So he is in a huge bind. So my hope is that several churches can come together to get some back rent paid. This is a sad situation where the system has failed this family. So...... big God big need very likely uncle will need to evict soon if no help is given Pray hard and lets trust God and see what he does. Blessings Chuck
A single mom of a kindergartener needs immediate housing due to a fire. Belongings are almost a total loss. Mom has not requested assistance prior to this experience, despite mom having a lot of unfortunate events occur that were beyond her control. A year and a half ago, both of mom's retinas detached causing vision impairment among other medical issues. Due to this, employment and thus income became limited. As a result mom does not have savings to use towards emergency housing needs. At the urging of this school social worker, mom found an affordable apartment with an immediate move in date. The leasing office and mom completed a budget and confirmed the targeted apartment is a good financially sustainable fit for the family. Additionally, if able to rent, the kindergartener would not have to change schools. Mom immediately needs $210 (deposit & application fee) to secure the apartment. Within 10 days of approval in order to move in, mom needs $500 towards deposit and $1055 which is one month's rent and utilities combined. Any help towards this will be greatly appreciated.

We would love to donate age-appropriate books and toys. We could also babysit the kindergartner during the move or other times that would be helpful (we have a kindergartner in the PH school).

Trying to place a child with a grandparent; however, there is limited space. So we are looking for a futon or a hideaway couch so the child would still have a bed to sleep on.

A single mom with 5 children is experiencing homelessness. While DCCCA is helping to meet some of the family's needs, especially housing, we are asking donors to please consider a Target gift card so that we may purchase hygiene and laundry supplies for the family. Prayers are also welcome at this time. Thank you for your consideration!
A single, loving mom of 6 children is desperately seeking assistance with rent to prevent the family from becoming homeless. Mom's youngest child is 2 and the oldest is a 17-year-old who is developmentally delayed due to a traumatic brain injury. Mom is desperately seeking assistance with rent to prevent the family from becoming homeless. If they were to become homeless, the children would go into foster care because mom does not have close family that could take them. Mom is a hard worker, but has been unable to work this month due to lack of transportation. She took her car to a mechanic months ago and the mechanic has not returned her car, nor will he answer his phone or return messages, and neither he nor mom's car have been located at the automotive shop. Please, if you are called to meet this need, I will provide you with our donation link. The family would also like to be lifted up in prayer. Thank you for your consideration!
Working with a foster and adopt conference local to Kansas City families from all over are coming to be able to spend some quality time with other foster families, have some spiritual growth and learn from many speakers on adoption and fostering.
Families are coming from as far away as Florida, and as close as Kentucky, Iowa, Nebraska, Arkansas, Kansas and Missouri.
Some of these families are asking for assistance with Gas cards to help with travel expenses. I would love to be able to help donate gas cards to these families who are attending this powerful weekend conference.
Lucy:
My friend has attended these conferences before and have found them to be life giving to her foster home! I would love to donate gas cards totaling $250. Please let me know what dollar increments and gas station is preferred.
I am working with a homeless student who is currently living in Hillcrest's Young Adult Transitional Housing Program. Thanks to Hillcrest's help, he has taken driver's ed and is preparing to take his test to obtain his driver's license, something he would not have been able to do without their support as the only living adult he has remaining in his life is incarcerated. He is a very responsible young man and has been working very hard to save his money, but he is having trouble finding an affordable used car to purchase. He also needs it to be sold by someone willing to sell to a 17 year old, as he does not turn 18 until this summer. He is looking for a reliable vehicle within the $2000-$3500 range. So, we are asking if there anyone out there who might have a good vehicle that fits this description that would be willing to let him take a look? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

A mother of 4 is expecting her 5th child on February 16th and is asking for baby boy clothes, socks, and bibs. She has received other baby items from family and friends but lacks baby boy clothes. She is a working mother and was put in a situation where she could not purchase everything for her new baby boy. Anything could help with providing this mother with a great life for her baby boy.
Single mom of 3 children is in need of getting birth certificates for her children so they can enroll in a new school. This family has been homeless, and by staying at many different homes, she has lost a lot of important information. We have been helping her get her ID, SSN, and now birth certificates for her and her children. This transition for the kids has been tough and she believes them switching schools to where they are now will help them become more stable. This process is all part of her getting a job, housing, etc. We are wrapping around this mom to support her in this process!
A youth needs a bed once they return to a relative placement whom is an adoptive resource. This youth would benefit from a comfortable bed to sleep in to maintain good mental and physical health.

This family has multiple people in the household as they came together to take care of these 5 children who came into care. These 5 children's grandmother, lives with her mother and father and her other daughter who has two kids. We all joined together to make this placement work, so these children did not have to be separated. The grandmother does a lot for these children multiple doctor appointments and taking care of an infant with medical needs. The children are 10,7,4,2 and 4 months old. This family is in desperate need of a dryer if we could find one as their dryer quit working and going to the laundry mat is very expensive. They also need some help with a highchair big enough for the 2-year-old as he does need it. If they could get this help it would benefit the placement and the children.

This family has struggled to reunite and secure an appropriate apartment. They now have an apartment but had fallen behind in rent and utilities. They have now caught the utilities up and believe that going forward they will be able to satisfy their monthly rent and utilities. Both mom and dad work full-time. They are requesting $670 for February rent to insure they go into the month with all bills paid and they believe they will be able to manage all going forward.

Grandma has placement of three of her grandsons from Missouri foster care, ages 16, 13, and 12. A pipe in her front yard burst and needed to be replaced. She then was hit with another large bill in December when she needed to fill her propane tank to heat the house. Grandma is needing financial assistance to help with these unexpected bills. This would allow her to avoid going deeper into debt and ensure the family will have heat.
We are currently working with an 8 year old child who is diagnosed with several mental health concerns. She has hallucinations and struggles with feeling safe in any environment. The family is very caring and working with her to help her in every possible way. She also has mental health services and treatment. While working with the family, we were able to identify 3 tools they could use to help the child feel safer. Both parents are working but with normal expenses and extra expenses for the child, they are living paycheck to paycheck. I am asking for help to purchase these needed items. I've listed the items that can be purchased through Amazon by any donor or I will happily order these with any donations received. Thank you for considering this request and for all of your support for our families and workers!!
Child needs a light switch for the hallway in her home. She is afraid of the dark and being alone. The family rents and cannot make any renovations so we found a light switch that links to the actual light and doesn't require wiring: ($19.99 and tax).
Child needs a dimmable night light for her bedroom and bathroom so that she can control the amount of light in her room but have a reliable light during the night: ($17.99 and tax)
Child needs a camera in her room to record her activity at night for her therapist and psychiatrist: ($29.99 and tax)
Mother Needs a two Chest of drawers for her children's clothing. Children are 9, 7, 2. Childrens Division is looking to reunite this family in the very near future. This would be of great benefit to the family and would greatly benefit the smooth transition.
