Family is new to the KC area and speaks Hatian Creole. Family speaks limited English and has a limited support system. They have a disconnect notice for their electricity. I have called several agencies about getting assistance and cannot find one that has funds available until next month but I didn't want their electricity to get shut off in the mean time.

We have a 20-year-old who is aging out of care in a month. She is moving into her apartment with her 1-year-old daughter. She is working and has been trying to save money. She is $500 short for the deposit on her apartment; she has managed to save half. The $500 would ensure our older youth does not age out unhoused. She is utilizing a housing voucher to ensure she will be able to pay her rent; her voucher does not pay for any part of the deposit. Our youth is excited to have her own place for her and her daughter to finally have stability in her life. Thank you!

These foster parents are outstanding advocates for the children in their care. One of their current placements is a child undergoing dialysis treatment three times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, for several hours each day. Due to her medical needs, foster child is unable to attend traditional school full-time.

Foster mom has been a tireless advocate for the child's education. She has proactively pursued both a 504 Plan and an Individualized Education Program (IEP) to ensure foster child receives the academic support she deserves. Foster mom has coordinated with school district officials, principals, and even representatives from the Kansas Department of Education to secure the best possible resources for foster child.

Thanks to foster mom's efforts, the child will begin a hybrid school program next year, attending in person on non-dialysis days. This marks a significant milestone as it will be the child's first in-person school experience in four years.

The foster family is currently requesting a Chromebook or Amazon gift cards to offset the cost of the Chromebook for the foster child. This is essential for her hybrid learning model. The school district will not provide this resource.

Breastfeeding mother needs refrigerator with freezer. Baby was born last week, and the family's fridge has stopped keeping milk and other food cold. Family is willing to take any size of fridge as long as it works well and has a freezer.

Children's Division is requesting $200 Walmart gift card to help a relative, who is placement for 4 children to obtain groceries.

This family is needing assistance with half of their rent. Their 21 year-old son was recently killed in an accident and their 19-year-old daughter who is pregnant is being induced due to the stress of losing her brother. Her younger son is currently permanently disabled. Mother has been unable to work as she has been making arrangements for her son's burial and her the birth of her daughter's child. Mother was unable to cover the entire month's rent because she paid for the burial of her son. There are three other younger children in the home. A single mother and two female toddlers ages 2 and 4 are looking to move into a new home in a safer neighborhood than where they are currently residing. The mother has worked very hard in maintaining employment and even purchased a vehicle to help her transport her children to daycare and maintain her girls' relationship to their biological father. The mother has asked for assistance in a first-month's deposit to move out in June as her lease is ending the end of May. She is needing the community's help in this matter to ensure safer and better lives for her two little girls. Any amount would significantly help this family, as they are also very close to being released of jurisdiction and reunifying.

For as long as I have worked with this family, they have encountered financial hardship and have been having a really hard time getting back on their feet. It seems as though something else always comes up that poses them a new financial challenge. Oftentimes, the family's close bonds with their neighbors are able to provide a support network for them, but this year, after a very cold and persistent midwest winter, the family has been hit with a large electricity bill that they are having a hard time paying. Mom has tried to set up payments with the company but they have denied her request. Plainly, she does not have the resources available to her to pay this bill in full without serious financial consequences for her and her two children, who she works fiercely to support. I am hoping we can find help in paying off this bill for a family of three impacted by the chronic stress of trying to make ends meet as It is possible they could lose access to utilities. They are looking for a total of $544.16 to cover an Evergy bill.

Hello, I am needing bus passes for a family to be able to attend Intensive In-Home Services to keep her child from coming into care. The first meeting is on Monday the 12th of May. I will need 2 tickets per day for the family. I would like to get them enough to last for a couple of weeks, 20 of the passes. Thank you.
