Please consider helping a family of 6 currently struggling due to financial issues, health, and loss of employment. The mother has been out of work since November but recently was able to gain employment and started this past week but will not receive her first paycheck for a couple more weeks; the father is disabled and home with the children. The family recently moved in their grandmother that has been ill and had nowhere else to go, and she experienced a recent hospitalization due to her health. The family has 3 children, ages 5, 10, and 15. The family has been trying to stay afloat by paying when they can but are struggling to cover their water and electric bills for this month. The family could use assistance with their water bill ($305.08) and electric bill ($139.02). Support would allow the family to cover their rent and car expenses, without the risk of their utilities being shut off. The family expresses gratitude and would be thankful for any support.

Safe Families is working with a single mom of two year old boy recently fled from domestic violence situation and is in their own apartment. Mom is dealing with some medical issues that will require surgery soon and she is unable to work. The social security disability check was short this month, for reason still unknown. This left her short on rent and she was just given an eviction notice. Mom is taking steps to handle this issue to insure next months rent will be paid as usual. She is also working hard for the medical needs of her and her son. Helping support this family will keep them stable in their current living situation and prevent them from being homeless.

We have grandparents fostering their grandson and on the road to adoption in a few months. Due to the child receiving disability, the grandparents are not receiving a regular stipend. The grandparents are on a fixed income and do not have a lot of extra money. The family needs some groceries for their nephew as school is about to let out for the summer and they will have an extra meal to prepare each day. If you can help this family, please reach out. I have a teenager who will be aging out in July. She was moved to a new placement after being in detention/substance abuse program. She was recently placed in a resource home and the teenager needs clothing. The teenager will need 5 bottoms and 5 tops. She may need bras and underwear.

We have a foster mother that has really gone above and beyond to help a 13 year old boy with several disabilities, and there are 3 other children in the home. She's opened her home in order to take him in and even moved to the living room so that he can have her room instead. She's been struggling with some major home repairs and we've been unable to find help for those issues. We are asking for some help with her water/municipal utilities in order offset those other expenses. Her current water bill is $201 approx. Any help is greatly appreciated!

A father has worked incredibly hard to reunify with his biological daughter. She is thriving in the home, and her father continues to work as hard as he can to support her. As he continues to set her up with everything she needs. support in finding a dresser for her would be a big step in having her home come together and ensure she has everything she needs.

A kinship placement was found for an Oklahoma teen with her great-aunt in Illinois. We are very appreciative that the aunt stepped up to care for her niece. Accepting placement of a child into the home comes with added expenses. The aunt needs assistance obtaining a bed and dresser for the child to keep her in the home. Service providers in the area were unable to provide the items. Obtaining a bed and dresser would help keep this placement stable and keep this kiddo with family. Single mom of 5 children (8 and under) with very little support has recently left a Domestic Violence relationship of 10 years. As a result, she is in need of car seats, stroller or wagon, beds (two sets of bunk beds and a single twin), a rug (to damper the noise), and a dining room table as she left all these behind. For the car seats she needs 3 five-point harness car seats and two booster seats. She is hoping for 2 sets of bunk beds and a single twin, with mattresses and bedding. She needs either a stroller or wagon to get to and from places with her three boys (twins who are 5 and special needs and a three-year-old boy). We are trying to support this mom in any way to help her realize she can do this on her own.

Please help a little girl enjoy two weeks of summer camp after a very stressful year. Her third foster placement has proven to be a very good place for her to heal and be loved. She has been through a lot of trauma in her short 7 years. Her foster parents have expressed they need help with the cost. It will be a total of $260 ($130 per week). They would really appreciate the assistance. Payment would be made directly to the camp. Family YMCA Member weekly rate $130
Camp runs from May 27 to August 13 and foster family would like to sign her up for two weeks. Camp offers swimming, art, games, field trips, crafts, and more.

Good afternoon, Care Portal! We are walking alongside a family from Afghanistan facing some health challenges that could benefit from a few items, in particular a washer, dryer and a stroller. These items can definitely be used in good condition! This family is very sweet and the father is awaiting surgery in the next few months and unable to work. They have a 1 & 1/2 year old daughter. The family consists of a single mom and her three children (12, 11, and 8). She works two jobs to support her children, faithfully engages in domestic violence support group each week, attends weekly therapy, engages in parenting and healthy relationship education, ensures her children's needs are met, and receives no additional support from any other resources. Despite juggling all of these things, she finds time to maintain her home, advocate her children when they experience being bullied at school, and goes above and beyond to ensure they attend church faithfully every Wednesday and Sunday. She would greatly benefit from getting this need meet. She is currently in a payment arrangement with the electric company with a grand total of $965.92 (as shown on her bill she sent) but she only asked for help to meet this month's total due ($312.30). This family is so precious and seeing the growth they have made from day one to this very day is so inspiring. We are in a need of a new or gently used twin size bunk beds for two brothers ages 7 & 5 . They are already in trial reunification with their mother and CASA learned the boys are sharing a bed. Mother has limited income and is unsure when she'll be able to purchase bunk beds. While there is no current safety issue, the team agrees it is more appropriate for them to have their own sleeping space and have a sense of privacy. We have already reached out to other community partners with no luck. It would be a blessing if someone is able to donate bunk bed frame with mattress.
