A great aunt has guardianship of her three great nieces. She is on a limited income due to her disability and receives limited financial support for caring for the girls. The girls are all outgrowing their clothes, and the family does not have extra funds to afford many new clothes for them, especially with the recent jump in Delmarva bills. The family has tried the clothing closets that I've suggested and has not been able to find much in the girls' sizes. The oldest girl is playing lacrosse and is especially in need of leggings and athletic clothes. Any help is greatly appreciated.

A grandmother has guardianship of her three grandkids, ages 7, 8, and 11. She has limited income through social security, TANF, and SNAP and is often struggling to make ends meet with the finances that she has. Her vehicle is in need of $1700 worth of repairs, which she is unable to afford right now. She needs her vehicle to get the kids to and from school and to therapy appointments, as they all have mental health and behavioral needs. She is struggling with her ability to provide the care that the kids need with the resources that she currently has, and often finds herself overwhelmed with the different financial challenges she is facing on top of the needs of her grandchildren. Receiving help with funding the repairs of her vehicle would be a huge help in supporting in meeting the needs of her grandchildren.

A mother of four has recently had two children (fictive kin) placed in her care by DFS. The caregiver met the children's mother on a Facebook mommy chat. Shortly after meeting the family, the children's mother passed away from cancer. There were seven children in the mother's home at this time. The caregiver who needs assistance is providing for two of the seven. The father of the children is not able to care for the children at this time and is currently on a treatment plan with DFS. The caregiver's income is fixed, and she is awaiting state benefits for the children placed in her care. This family is in need of the following:

Grandparents are caring for their 7 year old granddaughter and 4 year old grandson, and just assumed care of their four week old grandson. The children were unsafe living with their mother, and the grandparents have stepped in to care for the kids so they do not have to go into DFS custody. Because they have guardianship, the grandparents receive little additional financial resources to care for the children. With the baby, they do not yet have WIC, purchase of care, or TANF in place and they have to pay a family member to provide childcare for the baby while the grandparents' work. They do not have many items for the baby except a pack and play. The grandparents could use assistance obtaining clothing, organizational bedroom furniture, and baby items, such as a walker/playset for the baby to sit in and move around in as he gets older. The 7 year old girl wears 8-10 in girls and her shoe size is 3Y. She likes Hello Kitty. The 4 year old boy wears a 5T in clothes and 11C in shoes. He likes Marvel, Spiderman, and Toy Story. The 4 week old baby could use clothing sizes 0-3 months.

My client, a single mother of 2, gave birth to her baby by emergency C-Section 8 weeks ago. Her baby was in the NICU for 2 weeks. She should be focused on taking care of her baby and young son while healing from surgery, but instead she is stressed that she was unable to pay her rent for April and now her landlord is threatening legal action against her. She has always paid her rent on time until this maternity leave. She paid February's rent, had money saved for March, and was fully expecting to return to work after 4-6 weeks postpartum. This young mother started back to work, full-time, just this week, after receiving a clearance from her doctor. She reasonably expects to be able to pay her rent on time for May but needs $1145 + a $114.50 late fee to make things right with her landlord for April. By paying her rent for the month of April, a heavy burden will be removed from this young woman. She is not a believer yet, but God's church coming alongside of her will be a powerful testimony of his lovingkindness towards her. She has agreed to attend Bible study. Thank you for helping my client at this stressful time. The requested money would be paid directly to her landlord.

T is a working mother to a 1 year old and 6 year old. It is a discouragement to her that she provides support for extended family members from whom she could us help with her children, etc. In the struggles of life, she often talks about how she thinks God might be moving. Many in her family have flimsy church connections which has made it difficult for her to find a church community she wants to join. An Easter food basket, delivered by a caring Christ follower would encourage this single mother both physically and spiritually. Thank you for considering this request.

Until recently, her income came from caring for a family member who was also one of her main sources of support. However, that loved one is now in the hospital facing serious health issues, leaving her without both emotional and financial support.
