Oklahoma Human Services is currently working with a family consisting of a mother and two children ages 4 and 5. The mother has just left a difficult and unsafe relationship with the children's father where the father was the sole financial provider. She has been able to secure housing for herself and the children on their own for the first time since they have moved to Oklahoma. The mother is doing her best to secure everything needed for herself and the children to include daycare, getting a new job, furnishing their apartment, and building a life for them on their own. The mother is in need of assistance purchasing car seats for the children to ensure that they are safe in the car. The children are tiny and still in 5-point harness car seats. She was able to budget for a booster seat for the oldest, but she is still too small for it. Any assistance for this family would be greatly appreciated!

An incredible mother is at the final stages of reunifying with her youngest child, while continuing to take care of her two other children. She has worked for months and done everything she needs to to support all of her children, but has had challenges arise recently towards paying her current electric bill to ensure her house is stable. Any assistance would go a long way in helping her complete this reunification successfully with her youngest child.

We are requesting for financial assistance on behalf of a single father and his two children. He is employed, however, due to extenuating circumstances with his employer he has not received consistent payment over the last few months. Previously he was living with his father prior to him passing away which helped ensure the bills were paid. At this time, he is looking for additional employment, so any assistance is greatly appreciated. His current bill amount with OG&E is $594.52.

Hello I am needing help with fixing up a mother's car so she is able to see her children for her visits. This would help mom out with starting Trial Reunification so she can get her kiddos back home with her. She has been having difficulties getting to different towns to see her kiddos on a regular basis because her car is not in working condition and she does not have much family to help her when needed. All this car needs in a front left ball joint to get this car up and running! if someone is available to help fix this car up this will help mom get her children back home. The car is 2000 mercury MGL that just needs a left ball joint repaired.

Hello, we have a biological mom who is in trial reunification with her two children. She recently lost her job but quickly found a job so it would not disrupt the girls. She is a bio mom who is resilient and does everything she can to provide for her girls. She is short on rent and we don’t want her to lose her place of stay and cause a disruption to the girls placement

The family has added 3 children to their household and recently had a job change that is impacting their immediate financial situation negatively. The family is requesting assistance with groceries until their new monthly income begins.

Hello! I have a wonderful kinship foster mother who could use a little bit of help. She has placement of a teen, along with her own teen in the home. She works full time at a local mental health facility and also assists her adult daughter (who is disabled) with her own children, two of which are special needs. This lady has a heart of gold and would never ask anyone for anything but would give anyone her the shirt off her back. She lives in a small three bedroom rental and each time I have been to the home, she is so apologetic about "the mess". She is so embarrassed by the state of her home, which is just cluttered with stuff everywhere...clothes scattered about in the bedrooms, things all over the kitchen since it is so tiny with limited cabinet space. She has talked numerous times about how the home has absolutely no storage at all since it is an older home, and she knows the home needs some attention, but she simply has nowhere to put things. I offered to request a home organizer to come out and help her, but she said she is too prideful for that. But when I offered some dressers and storage items, she agreed. So that is my request...this client would be IMMENSELY grateful to have some dressers, and some shelving for their bedrooms/kitchen. This would help enhance the comfort and live-ability of the home for everyone and would take a load off her back. Any assistance you can provide to this sweet lady would be so appreciated!

Food Donation for Children at the Family Tree The OKDHS Family Tree offers a home-like setting for children awaiting placement. The Center is a safe, comfortable environment for children as the child welfare worker completes necessary paperwork and identifies a foster placement. Children often come in hungry. The Family Tree allows children to choose what they want to eat, giving them a choice when they do not have many choices. We have a list of possible suggestions but are open to any food donation that is easily prepared. The Family Tree has a refrigerator and can accept frozen or cold foods. Thank you for your help!

I have a single father of 4, he has a job and a vehicle but the air conditioning in his Dodge Durango needs repaired. OKDHS is recommending reunification for the client and his children. Currently, my client travels to and from to pick-up and bring the children back to the foster home on weekends for unsupervised visits. With the temperature warming up, the children will need A/C in the vehicle during the long car rides to and from. Any assistance with the a/c repair will be greatly appreciated.

There's a mother who has a child with disabilities living in a home in NE Oklahoma. She has her parental rights fully intact and is able to have him stay with her overnight once a month. While OKDHS CW has been able to assist her sometimes, this weekend unfortunately we’re unable to provide transportation. She’s willing and able to pick him up herself but would need some support with gas for the round trip of about 180 miles. Additionally, she’s asking if there could be some extra funds available for food and a haircut, she’s happy to take him to a shop herself. This is an urgent situation since their visit is scheduled for this weekend, and we really want to help her make this Easter special for her son. Please consider helping this mother spend meaningful time with her son this holiday weekend.

Mother of five children (age 3 to 14) has to relocate for a second time after experiencing domestic violence and homelessness. Mother has secured new housing, however due to an unexpected bill she is now in need of assistance with paying her first month’s rent. The monthly rent is $1,500. Mother does have $1,100 she is able to pay and only needs assistance with $400. Mother is due to move in on Saturday, 04/19/25. Providing any assistance will help ensure that Mother and her children do not face homelessness for a second time and will provide a safe and loving home for the whole family.
