I am working with a young mother, who has just gotten her first apartment with her two young children. She is not currently employed, due to having a very young child at home. She is in need of some living room furniture such as a sofa, chair, and some rugs for the floors. Her young child is beginning to crawl, and the floors are all wooden through the home. Any living items that are able to be provided would be much appreciated by the mother, as she does not have the funds to obtain the items on her own. She has bare necessities in her apartment.

This family successfully overcame homelessness 2 years ago. However, her mother's recent death, limited education, and ongoing strained finances make making ends meet a constant challenge for this family consisting of an engaged couple and their 3-year-old son, and 5-month-old daughter. One thing they really need is a lawn mower to mow the waist-high grass outside of their home which they inherited from her deceased mother. They are a sweet, earnest couple who I know would really benefit from this act of generosity, and would be completely open to further social support.
A family is in need of support with their electric bill with Dominion Power. This family is also in need of a twin bed frame, mattress, twin sheets, and pillows for the young female child. This support would help this family get back on their feet.

This family consists of a single mother who lives in public housing with her 10-year-old son who is struggling to make ends meet. She has resorted to braiding hair on the side to earn extra funds. One thing she really needs right now is size 14 clothes for her fast-growing son, especially jeans. He already struggles with social anxiety, so I know that some new clothes may really boost his self-esteem and give this mother some peace of mind. Thank you in advance to anyone who is able to help meet this need!
Single mom of three children, has had lack of jobs because of substance abuse and is now trying to get her life back together. Mom is working hard to keep her family together. Mom now has stable housing and a full-time job and all she has need for is a bed for her son.

This family consists of a grandmother who still has a 16-year-old son living with her (her youngest out of 5 children), and 2 grandchildren who frequently stay with her as well. Things lately have been a struggle as she has had to do everything on her own. One thing that would really help her out is receiving a mattress that can accommodate her as she ages, and that can fit a toddler with her as well on the nights that she needs to care for him. If anyone can help with this it would be much appreciated as providing this resource would help strengthen this family.
Two small toddlers (1 and 2 years old) were recently placed with their grandparents while their parents get help. The grandmother has asked for help with diapers (size 5) and wipes, a gift card to Walmart to stock on food for the toddlers until relative assistance kicks in, a rug for the children to play on, white and black paint to touch of a room, a dresser for their clothing, and a book shelf.

A grandmother is currently caring for her 4 grandchildren. 2 of which are children and 2 of which are young adults. This grandmother has been experiencing significant health concerns that have caused her to be unable to work. She has been caring for her grandchildren, one of which has special needs, and is doing all that she can to make ends meet. This grandmother has been taking steps to help herself and has applied for different types of assistance to lower her bills and uses any income she does receive to make payments. Along with needing assistance with her bills, the family is in dire need of various toiletries and cleaning supplies. This is truly a case where if any family needed the assistance to prevent this situation from becoming a neglect concern, they would need it. Children need to be able to bathe, and live comfortably. At no fault of their own and at no fault of this grandmother, they are making efforts to combat their current financial situation. Any amount and any help could make the difference in children being able to remain in this home with the family that they know and love.

I am currently working with a family where the mother is working and going to school and the household is dependent on her finances. There is a father involved, however, the mother is trying to save money to be able to move out and care for the child separately. The mother is currently saving money to complete training to become a Registered Behavioral Technician and would benefit from some financial help to pay this class. She would need $100. The mother would also benefit in developing so appropriate supports in the area for her and her son. Updated on September 18, 2023 by an Agency Worker Just submitting an update because this financial need is still needed! It would be a great support for this mom and her son to be able to get this certification.
