A mother reunifying with her three children is in need of some assistance with clothing for her children. Below are the children's sizes and individual clothing needs. The children have been placed with the mother and will soon be out of care. Getting these items will help the mother maintain and avoid disruption during this transition of having the kids back home with her. Child 1 (boy): Needs a couple summer shirts size XL youth, a pair of shorts and a pair of jeans size 16 youth, boxer briefs size youth large, and one pair of tennis shoes size youth 8. Child 2 (boy): Needs a couple summer shirts size medium youth, a pair of shorts and pair of jeans size 12 or 14, boxer briefs youth medium, and one pair of tennis shoes size 7 youth. Child 3 (girl): one pair of slide shoes size 2 toddler, a couple summer shirts size 8 toddler, and girls underwear size 9. A female child (5yo) has been in out of home care for 2.5 years after being removed due to mother's substance use, mental health, and physical neglect. Her father was not in her life at the time due to having contact cut off by the child's mother. As soon as he found out his child was in foster care he contacted who he needed to in order to re-establish a relationship with his daughter. He also struggles with substance abuse but has tested consistently clean for almost a year. He is working hard to get his home in working order for her to come home to him but is struggling to make his home safe as it needs a lot of repairs and he is behind on bills. Having his electricity bill paid off will help a lot with this process and hopefully get the kiddo home in the next few months.

A relative placement of a 5 month old girl has had her electricity disconnected and needs assistance to help turn it back on. Her minimum payment is $5.04, there is a $30.00 reconnect fee, and $60.00 to keep her from getting disconnected again for one month. KVC has recently assisted her in obtaining WIC to assist with formula which will help her to be able to pay her bills to maintain placement. Any assistance is much appreciated.

Mother has a two year child who has severe special needs; he recently had G Tube Insertion procedure so he can eat more efficiently. He has trouble maintaining necessary weight so he is involved in multiple clinics at Children's Mercy Hospital and usually has two or more appts per week at CMH. He recently was accepted into Ability KC Pre School which means he will go to Ability KC Pre School each weekday for Occupational and Physical Therapy and care each day. He has medical diagnoses of Periventricular Leukomalacia, Brain Disease- death or damage or softening of the white matter the inner part of the brain which transmits information.... and Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia., Chronic Lung Disease of Premature Babies. The parents are responsible for getting the child to Ability KC Pre School each day. The Ability KC Pre School is a prestigious program that kids have to qualify for based on their medical needs and disabilities. The automobile that the mother has access to at this time does not belong to her and it is not running well. Mother is afraid that the car will break down soon, and she has no control over the owner of the car who is prone to leave the home and not return so she can take her son to appointments.

Our Agency has a 16yo male currently in foster care custody, placed with a kinship provider. The 16 yo male also has a 7 month old daughter who is not currently in foster care. Our Agency just learned that the kinship provider was evicted and the family is living in a tent. Total family composition impacted is 2 adults, 5 children, and 3 dogs. This kinship provider was working on obtaining guardianship of our 16yo youth. The family has no funds and while we would like to figure out a plan to keep the family together. We are particularly worried about our youth and the baby living outdoors in the extreme temperatures we have been having. We are hoping a church is able to assist in an Extended STay MOtel for a month while we try to plan around this crisis or assist with locating emergency housing for them.

This child has recently finally found a wonderful placement to live with who adores her and wants the best for her. This placement wants to include the child in everything that they do as a family. The whole kinship family had purchased season passes to Worlds of Fun before the child came to live with them. The family doesn’t want to leave her behind when they use their passes, but they can’t afford to purchase a season pass for her. The family is asking for assistance to purchase a season pass for the child who is new to their household so that they can all go and enjoy Worlds of Fun together.

I am currently working with a teen that has started a lot of different services for mental and medical health. With multiple appointments and gas prices, there as been an increase in the cost of travel for the mother that she was not expecting with her income. I am asking for a donation (of any amount) to go toward a gas card to help the family afford the gas for transportation to and from these multiple weekly appointments. An on-site food pantry serving families in an affordable housing community is in need of a refrigerator. The refrigerator would allow the on-site pantry to provide fresh food and healthier food options to the families. The increased cost of food has put even more financial strain on these families and the utilization of the pantry has increased over the last couple of months.

This 2 year old toddler suddenly and tragically passed away prior to his siblings coming into care earlier this year. A funeral service was held but the family has not been able to pay the funeral arrangements in full. CD is asking for money in order to cover the cost of the funeral for this innocent young boy. Any little bit will help.

There is a 17 year old, almost 18 year old female in need of a dresser. The child is working towards independent living.
