Help Preserve a Kinship Placement
A single, retired grandmother on a fixed income took in her two small grandsons, ages 8 months and (almost) 5 due to parental neglect and substance use. Grandmother is connected with state benefits for the boys, and our agency is working with her to ensure she has everything the children need to stabilize the kinship placement. The biggest need is for additional help with diapers (size 3), wipes, and infant formula (Similac Advance in blue can), as the baby uses more formula than is covered by WIC each month. The baby needs a few shorts, T-shirts, and rompers in size 12 months to supplement what grandmother provided. The (almost) 5 year old needs underwear, boys size 5-6 in any kind of super hero pattern. He also needs shoes, and this worker requests a gift card, so his correct size can be purchased. Any assistance will be appreciated.

Help Improve a Child's Safety/Wellbeing
A thirteen-year-old girl needs a window/portable AC Unit for her bedroom. Her bedroom is the only room in the home that does not have access to air conditioning, nor does it have a window/portable unit to help cool her room during extremely hot days. She was not able to sleep or spend any time in her own bedroom during the recent heat wave that had temperatures over 100 degrees for multiple days. An A/C unit would allow her to be able to safely sleep or spend time, generally, in her own bedroom.

Stabilize Housing Insecurity
A little over a year ago we were able to help a single mother finalize reunification with her daughter by providing her a bed for the child and some uniform clothes. The mother reached out earlier this week to inform us that she was forced to move from her apartment for safety concerns and was unable to take her furniture with her. She is requesting a single bed for her daughter, a full bed for her, and bedding for both beds. She is also in need of white/blue uniform shirts for her daughter in size 8. A local church has offered to provide the bed frames but mattresses will need to be purchased and we will need someone with a pickup truck to help deliver the items.
